Nico doesn't need to have technology like some of the other demigods seem to need it. He barely touched it during the half year he was in a modern school. He didn't have mortal friends on the outside. All of the people he cared for were demigods, and if he really needed to talk to them, he could shadow travel to them or use Iris Messages. Or talk to them in their dreams.
