Taking a moment to think about it, Nico shook his head. "No, I don't think so. The gods, the Greco-Roman ones anyway, need to be remembered and tied to things so they don't fade. Helios and Selene faded when their domains of the Sun and Moon were conflated with Apollo's and Artemis' domains. Apollo was the god of light, amongst other things, so naturally, the sun was given to him. And since Artemis is his twin and the goddess of the hunt and wild beasts, the moon, long associated with the wild, went to her."

He sighed. "I have seen a god fade in front of me," he said. "Pan, god of the wild. Since human civilization spread to an extent where there was essentially nothing wild left... faded. Literally. He was still remembered, but his domain was no more. And he only lasted as long as he did because satyrs and dryads wouldn't stop believing in him until his chosen finally let him go."

He coughed. "Sorry, I'm rambling. But, yeah, if the concept of Western Civilization is no more, then the gods fade. No one's there to remember them if everyone's turned to stone, right? Well, Senku, but he's only one person. And not one concerned with any god.

"If there's worship, there will be gods. Maybe some will be reimagined versions of the old gods. It'd be interesting to see."
