[Sora grits his teeth and keeps steady at Riku's back. They're being quickly surrounded by this energy and Ansem is starting to circle them like a vulture ready to pluck and rip them to pieces. Why is this energy so heavy...?]

Not good.

[He mutters as he tries to resist the urge to cough. It's so thick in his lungs.]

I don't care what you say or if I ruined your day twice or more, I'll be happy to ruin it again and again if I have to!

[Sora and Riku could probably use a little back up though...!]

[ Back up will arrive in the form of Vanitas. The Unversed have been keeping an eye on several people. That's how he knows where Sora and Riku are. He hadn't been too worried or concerned. The both of them should be able to handle whatever it is that is going on. Whatever plans to come after them.

But then he realizes what is there. Who. And that's not something that Vanitas can well leave alone. Shocking how many pieces of Xehanort have shown up.

As if Darkness can keep him out though. Vanitas dives right in it. Casts out a Thundaga spell in every direction that he can. ]

Did you guys think you could really start without me?

[retrieves]

[the darkness can't really bother Riku either -- at least, normal darkness. it's a little different, infused with the nightmare energy from this world. but he can still deal with it.

he smirks when Vanitas appears, though.]

We were gonna weaken him for you.

[he brushes his hand over Sora's arm, as if to get his attention.]

Remember what we did together in the Realm of Darkness?

[Most of the time Sora doesn't worry too much about Vanitas in situations like this either. He's strong and capable. But this is different. There is another army of nightmare Xehanorts hanging out and who knows what they're going to do. So he's actually very glad to see Vanitas join the fray.

He grins confidently when Riku says that and he nods.]

Yup, and with the three of us? Ansem should be shaking in his boots.

[He lifts his keyblade again. Sora might not be attuned to darkness like the other two boys are. But he still packs a lot of power. What's Ansem going to do now?]

[darkcharge]

[ Vanitas smirks right back. ]

You better hurry up then or you won't weaken him at all before I get to him.

[ Of course he's not alone. Is he ever? Vanitas has arrived accompanied by some Archravens and Yellow Mustards. Air support, right?

At least this isn't the old far. Vanitas might have had some feelings about this if that had been the case. But it's just one of the guy's lackies. ]

Let's go.

[Riku lifts his keyblade as well, power surging from him as he takes in the scene.

yeah, he's relatively assured that they got this.]

Let's go.

[it's said in agreement as he unleashes a powerful blast of darkness that splits up and all crashes towards Ansem at once. that, of course, he dodges quickly, but it's more or less a distraction as Riku tries to coordinate an attack that combines both of their abilities with Sora.]
