Okay. My memory is a little fuzzy on the details, but I'll put down what I can.
[Might as well start at the beginning.]
I was in another world before this one, kind of like here, where people of all kinds were drawn in. The locals called us "Mirrorbound" because we came through the magic mirrors of the Coven, the center of their magic study. The mirrors had been there for longer than anyone could remember, but nobody knew what they were for. They all looked the same, except to those of us who came through, and only the one we specifically came through looked different. Mine had some carving on the frame that reminded me of buildings from home, for instance, so they must have been linked to us somehow.
When we came through, I guess the mirrors changed us to fit within that world. Any magic we had before was gone, and we were either given the ability to use that world's magic, or the features of the nonhuman races there. [Trying very hard not to think of the word monster, let alone use it.] I don't think we ever really figured out how that worked or why, other than vague guesses that we were meant to help with the magical plague that world was suffering from.
[He's got... a significant amount more, but it seems like a good place to pause to see if Trahearne's got any questions.]
