interactive dream - tartarus a

[ooc: description of tartarus is here. I just... forgot to mention it]

[the air is stifling. Percy's legs buckle as he falls to his knees. he's here. he's here again, even if his mind says there's no possible way. the air is stifling and hot, and the wind is poisonous. he looks around in a panic for a moment.]

Annabeth? Annabeth!!

[his voice comes out raspy and hoarse, and tears track down his face as he feels the hot river Phlegethon flowing next to him. he looks at it, almost as if he's considering jumping right into it. maybe he should, because there's no way he's going to survive here a second time without her.

it'll be quicker than whatever this place will conjure up for him to die by... and if he's not actually alone, he doesn't know it.

he's in shock.]

tartarus b

[Percy's at some elevator doors now, bleeding and beaten. he's holding on to the door as Tartarus stands in front of him with a hoard of monsters at his back.]

Little demigod... back here again, without anyone to save you...

[the doors ping open, and Percy moves backwards, and the monsters and the god Tartarus cackles at him.

Percy's holding on to Riptide tight, with all the strength he has left. it's most definitely insanity, and he's probably cracked in the head in more ways than anyone can count. but there's nothing else he can do, and he's not going to die here cowering against some elevator doors that he can't use to leave.

for once, he's got nothing sarcastic to say, instead charging towards the monsters with Riptide raised.]

well my last year sucked
and it doesnt look like i was gone here long

so i went home and no one has to act like theyre gonna spoil me or whatever
i got a lot of new nightmare fuel

There have been so many people returning home lately...

[ This hellish landscape is so familiar that for the briefest of moments, Asura thinks he's back in the Abyss. Even when he looks down at himself, he sees the form he takes in his waking world, and it's only when he hears the unfamiliar voice of a child calling an unfamiliar name does he realize that this must be someone else's dreamscape. ]

Hey, [ He calls out as he approaches the panic-stricken teenager, wary that the kid might do something crazy. ] Sit down and breathe.

[Oh no. He can probably guess which shit Percy just lived through in the last few days. And he figures Percy probably doesn't wanna talk about it.]

Hey.
Remember me now?

Percy grins.]

[he's thinking about jumping into the river of fire, so uh. probably a little bit crazy.

at seeing another person, he pauses. and then he starts to back away, closer to the river with an air of mistrust around him.]

And how do I know you're not going to just kill me if I do??

[this is the land of monsters, after all...]

I was gone for an entire year before I found myself back in this dream. Although, it sounds like you've had a far more difficult time than me.

What was the date when you came back?
You could still be behind.

[ Asura clicks his tongue in mild annoyance and crosses his arms over his chest, but doesn't take another step toward him. ]

Looks like you're already one step away from jumping to your death anyway so why would that matter? Look kid, if I wanted to kill you, I would have just done it already. [ He sneers, though he knows that'd be little comfort when this kid is clearly already distressed. ]

Now sit down before you hurt yourself.

Oh wow. I have been hearing about people going home and then returning to this world.

(Anya certainly knows of a certain cunning prince who came back after going poofed nearly a year ago.)

oh great i hope Leo didnt get ahead of me again

[Percy snorts.]

[maybe with the interaction (even if Percy hasn't decided whether it's enemy or no), a little bit of his sarcasm is starting to come back.

his knees wobble again, and he sits down hard on the ground below him. he's still eyeing Asura warily, and maybe even still glancing at the river behind him every now and then.]

No, sadly I haven’t gotten the chance to return home right now. Just yet. Maybe it is not yet my time at this time.

Asura lets out a humorless 'hah' and shakes his head. ]

You're right, I am a monster, [ He says derisively, clearly used to the moniker. ] I'm not asking you to trust me. I'm telling you to take a few deep breaths and think. Where are you, and how did you get here? Do you remember?

Thanks Percy. Hopefully I can go home and check on my friend and Grandmama to see if they’re alright before coming back to this world again. I really miss them a lot too.

I’m glad that you’re able to see her in your world again.

Even if you aren't, I doubt he'll tease you for that long. Besides, I'm probably sure he'll be happy that you're back.

I know I was after seeing one of my friends still here.
