[Zelda would certainly not approve. And yet, Link cannot back down from this -- he certainly doesn't want to. His mind is racing in a hundred directions, his emotions a cacophony that threatens to overwhelm him, and the only way he knows to contain them, to calm them, to push them back into the place where he doesn't have to sort them all out, is to do something.

This is something. Right?

A more level-headed hero would not pick a fight like this -- would connect the threads of Sheik's relentless assault on the attack dummies and the missing princess, may even draw a connection with this other Zelda that has stepped in to join them in this dream world.

But for all the level-headedness Link has exuded throughout his life, throughout his tenure as Hyrule's Champion, he can't bring himself to stop feeling. He opened that box, opened himself up to the people around him, and now it's too much to push it all away again.]


No wounding. First to kneel forfeits the match.

[That seems fair. It worked among the knights, back before his life took so many strange and difficult turns.]
