Tea For Who? - OPEN

Iroh had found that he had been able to help people during the crisis in a number of ways. But one of them had been tea and talking. Just being there for people with a calming drink and an open ear. So he was trying that again now, once again by the base of the fountain.

Between conversations he was sipping his own tea and considering what it might take to open a tea shop here. For however long he was going to be here, that was...

For anyone who wanted to find him, he is near the fountain with a small comforting camp fire over which the tea pot is heating and a pair of large picnic style baskets, one of snacks and one of teas and tea fixings. So that he can have enough for every taste and stay a while for whoever showed up without over steeping the tea.

"Oh. I am in no great hurry, I can be a patient man when I wish to," he says with a smile. "And, as I said, it's not unpleasant to be faced with a challange in this. It keeps me on my toes. If you wish I can teach you a couple of them."

"I would enjoy that. You are not the only one who enjoys new intellectual challenges."

"I wish I could get my nephew to see that. But I suppose that is just another challenge to face."

"He is young, he'll get there eventually." It was just the nature of youths to be recalcitrant about such things. Always in such a hurry to get to the end results that they forget to enjoy the journey there.

"so long as I can keep him alive that long, yes," he said with a chuckle.

"I'm certain you'll manage," he says with a chuckle of his own. "You both seem like hardy and resourceful people."

Which is returned, as the tea cups are refilled. "So tell me, friend, if we are to be staying together for the time being, anything specific I should be contributing from the start?" Aside from the Pai Sho set of course.

Tea and friendship, it was a wonder too have both of those again. "Nothing very specific. I'd appreciate any help with things that are difficult to accomplish one-handed, but other than that I'm sure we'll be able to divide chores evenly."

"I would be pleased to help," he assured his friend. "I can also help with keeping the place warm when the weather isn't..."

"That would be much appreciated," both the help and keeping the place warm. "My people are not so affected by the cold, but we are not impervious to it either."

[uncle_iroh]

"And any guests you may bring over might also appreciate some warmth."

[holdshisown]

"A good point, I wouldn't want them to feel cold."

[uncle_iroh]

"I suspect this will work out well for the both of us, for however long it lasts." He gave a warm smile and sipped his tea.

"I think so too," it would be good to have company again.

[uncle_iroh]

"That it will. It isn't good for a man to be alone for too long. With others we learn and grow in ways we never do alone. Even at our age."

[holdshisown]

"True," he says as he sips his tea. "Isolation often stiffles our growth as people, it's not healthy for us to be alone."

[uncle_iroh]

He nodded. "People grow best like flowers. Together."

[holdshisown]

"That is a lovely way of putting it." But people are a bit like a meadow full of wild flowers, aren't they? So colorful and diverse and shining more brightly together than alone.

[uncle_iroh]

He smiled warmly and nodded, filling their tea cups again.
