[ The hall of mirrors is a dangerous placed, filled with lies and deceit of wandering thoughts and distant nightmares. While Xenk has an iron grip on his own will, and his own regrets, it's no surprise that it would pose a greater challenge for others who are not so fortunate as to have a Paladin's Oath to fall back on.
So he doesn't fault Edgin his pain, when he spots the man walking into one of the mirrors. Though he quickly follows, it's hard to want to pull the man away from the vision that awaits him. His family, hale and whole. His lady love, Zia, alive and flourishing.
It is a dream Xenk could not understand for himself, but clearly one that would bring Edgin great joy. Were it real, and not a terrible fantasy. But all dreams must end, and surely the longer he stays, the harder it will be to relinquish the fabrication.
Xenk approaches Edgin, placing a hand on his shoulder in hopes of rousing him back to reality. ]

Edgin... you must not fall victim to the past.
[ Also, hi. ]
