As a spirit himself, Somnus cannot fathom remaining on the mortal plane for any longer than necessary. That there are other worlds in which the dead remain to exact vengeance on others seems like a... choice, if nothing else. However, the want for comeuppance is a very understandable one, if all too human. The dead and the living have that in common, it seems.

Still, this tale seems like it has a few more twists than a typical ghost story. Will the ghosts succeed? Or does the mortal woman have one more trick up her sleeve to counter the vengeful ghosts? Not knowing either answer, he listens for the tale's conclusion.
