[Even as Hiyori leads him away from the actual carnival worker, Yato's breathing verges on hyperventilating from both distress and rage. If that really was his dad, he could have done Hiyori harm without him being any the wiser until it was too late. It would have been all too easy with her spirit form exposed like that. The possibility alone sends a shudder through him as he sits down on the bench and Hiyori's hands rest upon his shoulders, slowly working to ground him.

It's fine. She's fine. Nothing bad happened. Everything is alright. They can go back to enjoying the rest of their day, can't they...?

He's honestly not sure. The sound of that voice has unsettled him more than he wants to admit.

Thankfully Hiyori is here to pull him back from the darkness, with their cute little plush helping. Absently, he takes hold of Uesama, hugging it to his chest with a nod. He still can't bring himself to meet her eyes. What if, what if--

No, he can't think like that. They're both fine.]

A-Alright. Just... be careful...?

[Finally he drags his face up enough to watch her, worry evident in the way his eyes shine and the curve of his brows.

Don't go too far, he wants to say. Don't leave me. But he's not one to demand that of her. He doesn't want to admit how scared he is.]
