[Whoever decided it was a good idea to drag people here in the middle of a BLIZZARD should be thrown into the Fortress of Meropide forever, as far as Furina is concerned. It's cold and everything is frozen to the point that everything around town is practically unusable. Plus she has precious little understanding of the situation here other than it's a dream world or whatever, distracted by the more pressing issue of not freezing to death.
(She may have yelled a bit at the poor tapir who tried to explain everything to her, although she also made it a point to go back and apologize after she calmed down a bit. It was a bit of her old Archon performance coming out, and that's not fair treatment to someone who doesn't even really know what Fontain even is.)
At least there are shelters set up for new arrivals and those without better accomodations. It reminds her a little of how people came together during the prophesized crisis, which is a bitter feeling that she quickly buries down. Even as she's been assured it was well beyond her control, it's still hard not to remember how hopeless she felt in those moments.
To distract herself, she tries to volunteer to help. The kind woman handing out hot chocolate gently turns down the offer, saying they have things taken care of and that she should focus on relaxing and staying warm. Instead, she finds a (hopefully?) friendly face or someone setting up a game.]
May I join you?
[Please say yes. 🥺]
II. CANDY LAND
[Now this is more like it.
Dreams are supposed to be fantastical, not horribly cold and unpleasant, and this place looks like something out of a fairy tale or opera stage. Furina herself has been turned into a peppermint fairy, and she is more than happy to relish the role assigned to her. It's a dream inside of another dream; why shouldn't she have fun with it?
Traveling through the world, it seems, isn't that different than the board games she played at the shelter.]
If we are meant to play, then play we shall!
You. [She points at a random passerby.] Will you join me in this daring game of chance?
III. ICE MIRRORS
[Given that Furina is still learning how to use her Vision (which is useless here anyway) and has practically no idea how to use dreamotion energy yet, she's been sneaking around and running from combat instead of directly engaging with anything. It's embarrassing to have to be so obviously cowardly, but it's better than being dead.
(What happens when you die in a dream in this world? She doesn't know, and she doesn't want to find out.)
In her skulking, she comes across a mirror. She gazes into it out of curiosity, but what she sees on the other end of it causes her blood to run cold. It's Fontaine, flooded and entirely devoid of life.
In the end, the people will all be dissolved into the waters, and only the Hydro Archon will remain, weeping on her throne...
That's right... she'd failed, hadn't she? After centuries of playing her part to the best of her ability and suffering the crushing weight of loneliness that came along with it, she had cracked at the last minute and caused it all to crash around her. It was Fontaine's precious people that paid the price, perishing in a cataclysmic event she was powerless to stop.
She deserves for this loneliness to stretch on into eternity. It's the penance she must pay for her failure. The realization brings a strange peace that she can't quite describe. It's as if she's simply tired of feeling anything at all, and accepts the sentence she's been given.
Slowly, her hand stretches out to the icy surface in front of her. Once her fingers make contact with the ice, she feels the bite of frost start to envelop her. She pays it no mind; that, too, is a punishment she is willing to accept.]
IV. WILDCARD
(( I'm down for whatever! Hit me up at asondeiru or on discord asondeiru if you wanna plot. ❤ ))
