The fire's source isn't obvious, but then, it isn't much of a concern in the moment, either. Villagers dash up and down the roads winding through the mountainside town, desperately accounting for friends, families, homes amidst the heat and smoke. A few brave the flames, trying to put them out, but despite those efforts, there is but one single person standing at the edge of the well in the center of the village. Sheik stares into the dark depths of the well, glaring at it as though it's going to bite him, though at the sound of someone's approach, he calls over his shoulder, fierce in his urgency:]
Stay back!
[... Deep underground, something rumbles.]
reverein; bringing in the ringers
[Mari Lwyd's little friends just love making noise. The bell choir conductor needs bellringers, and apparently he doesn't really care about things like "skill" or "experience." One problem should, in theory, solve another, but, well...
... Maybe there was a reason the whole choir quit. The conductor seems to be quite high strung, even for someone under that kind of pressure, and the lwydlings are Not Having It. A trio of them are running circles around him, wildly ringing their bells and nipping at his coattails with every exclamation of irritation that he makes.
As someone who was rather press-ganged into service after the conductor learned he had a talent for music, Sheik can't say he's entirely inclined to help. He watches the chaos unfold with something like vague amusement as he leans over to his fellow substitute (or someone who just heard all the noise and wanted to figure out what was going on).]
I don't believe I've ever seen someone turn so many different shades of purple.
shattered dreams; advanced darkness
[To say Sheik finds the inky black depths of the Ice Queen's nightmare comfortable would certainly be an overstatement, but after the warnings the dreamwalkers had received from those overseeing her treatment in Orkili, he was expecting something much worse. It's not hard to get turned around in the largely featureless void, but... following the ebbs and flows of the Queen's grief, her anxieties, her loneliness— he can navigate his way back with an ease he'd rather not consider too deeply at this time. There are more important matters to attend to.]
This one— it appears as though it takes place at a ball or banquet of some kind, does it not?
[The shard he gestures to remains quite fogged - he hasn't drummed up the courage to try to purify or absorb the energy within it just yet - but it does seem as though several colorfully dressed characters feature within it, their attire splashing indistinct watercolor blurs across the glass. It's hard to say for certain, but maybe that's enough to start looking for other pieces to fit along its edges.]
