malon | legend of zelda: ocarina of time

[ Malon is taking the role of Cinderella and her scenario will generally line up with the Disney version, except that her wicked stepmother will be a wicked stepfather. Other characters are welcome to fill the roles of the wicked stepsisters, fairy godmother, and the prince. Feel free to simply jump in, no additional plotting or permissions necessary! (But you can also plot with me anyways if you prefer.) ]

I. Manor House - Before the Ball (Sleepwalking)

[ Within the Enchanted Forest, there stands a sprawling noble estate with a large manor house built on its grounds. Despite its size, it is home to a very small family: a widower, his two beloved daughters, and their single servant-- I mean, significantly less beloved stepdaughter.

Busy, busy, busy, from dawn until dusk (on a good day)-- that's Malon's life. Anyone who comes to the manor is almost guaranteed to run into her (hopefully not literally), as she is constantly running to and fro to do her many chores. Perhaps she's in the kitchens, cooking or cleaning; scrubbing the marble floors with just a bucket and a sponge; or outside in the barn caring for the livestock. Or maybe, if you're very lucky, you'll somehow find her in her attic bedroom late at night, sewing a gown by hand. (And there, on her nightstand, is her jar of memories.)

No matter where you run into her, Malon is almost certainly singing or humming this song.

When she spots you, she immediately stops whatever she's doing and drops into a curtsey, her eyes fixed on the floor. ]

Oh my goodness, please forgive me, I didn't see you there. Is there anything I might do for you?

[ Most characters will be addressed as "sir" or "ma'am," but anyone wearing a particularly fancy outfit will get a "my lord" or "my lady" tacked onto the end of that question. ]

II. Castle - The Ball (Sleepwalking)

[ The big night is here at last! It may have gotten off to a rocky start --what with Malon's stepsisters jealously destroying her dress and then her fairy godmother suddenly appearing to transform the rags into a beautiful new gown-- but she made it to the ball!

Malon moves freely around the ballroom, clearly unafraid of being recognized by her stepfather or stepsisters. She accepts offered champagne or treats, or dances with people who ask her hand. She might even be bold enough to ask you to dance.

But often, she seems like she's looking for something. Well, someone specifically-- she's hoping to catch a glance of the Prince. This ball is being held for him, after all, in hopes that he will choose a wife from the eligible ladies of the land. Malon already knows he won't pick her, but she still wants to at least see him. They say he's quite dashing! She might come up beside your character and ask if you've seen the Prince yet. ]
