[ There's a visible look of relief when the man is able to catch the trees in time, but nothing could quite prepare her for the moment Clive reaches down to scoop her off of the ground. ]
Whoa! [ Startled, Lyria whips her gaze around wildly to catch the end of his assault against the branches that sought to strike her down, as well.
... Alright. Perhaps she was still damsel-coded, after all.
Yet despite the rising fear she felt bubbling in her tiny duck-chest, the girl presses herself hard against his plate in order to avoid the small shrapnel of twigs that fell from his sword strike. Clive's touch was surprisingly soft given the size, but the unmistakable presence of protection that fell over her in that moment was too evident to look away. She knew the feeling of being watched over and here- in Clive's arms- Lyria felt safe.
The chaos seemed to pass as quickly as it came... or perhaps in her point of view given her only job at the moment was to shield herself in his arm and out of harm's way. So when the sounds of the trees crashing around them had subsided and and the man's voice broke through the madness, Lyria finally lifted her eyes to look into his own. ]
Oh, yes... Thank you, I'm fine. [ She sputters, a little breathless. The ends of her tail feathers were ruffled slightly from the unexpected ride but overall she was intact and in one piece.
She, too, notices the softness in his voice so there was little problem when Lyria was lifted to see her savior in his full glory. ]
I don't always look like this, really! When I walked into the forest I... started to change— [ She lets her voice drift off for a moment while she studies his facial features. ] —but you saved me!
