[ Satan makes his best effort to discern the meaning of Zelda's expression when he readily admits he was an idiot. She seems... less angry, and possibly surprised, as if hearing him admit such a thing was unusual for him. Well... perhaps it was. Still, as much as he loathes to admit it, he recognizes he can be wrong--that he was wrong--and that expecting Zelda to suddenly treat him as if he were a troublesome pest ranks pretty highly up there on Satan's list of mistakes.

When she snorts at him in amusement at his question, Satan takes care to mind his tongue, to not angrily blurt out that she shouldn't laugh at him. He manages to overcome his kneejerk reaction, if only because it made him so happy to hear the sound to begin with. ]

I've missed you, too... and I'm so glad to be back.

[ Elated when she moves toward him, Satan wraps his arms tightly around her in turn, lifting her off the ground for a few moments as he squeezes her. It hasn't been so long for him, certainly not the decades it's been for Zelda, but he's missed her all the same. He leans his cheek against the top of her head before finally putting her down and letting his hands fall away from her.

Despite his mood leveling out, his demon form remains. He would be able to disperse it now if needed, but in truth he's already forgotten he'd changed forms to begin with. ]
