» OPTION A - CHRISTMAS TREE ENTS «

[Walking, giant trees...is something he's seen and fought before so even though they are clearly peaceful, the idea of maybe trying to get into a fight with one comes to mind.... But he's going to be on good behavior and help with the decorating instead. Plucking off one of the strange egg shaped ornaments, he can't help but turn it in his hand curiously.]

So... We sure nothing is going to come out of these things? What would happen if I tried to boil it? Or maybe cut it...

[The tree ent overhears this and starts shaking its branches in displeasure, and the egg also starts making a weird sound that's something like alarm, so he quickly tries to retract.]

I'm not, I'm not, don't worry.

[...Said with a gaze that he's still thinking about it.

Anyway, after hanging one he takes some of that holly leaf garland and looks at whoever's house he happens to be at.]

So where should I hang this? I can climb up to the very top of the tree if you want it.

» OPTION B: GIFTING SWORDS «

[Not real ones.

Rokurou can be found sitting on the ground with a pile of small wooden swords scattered about him. They all have different shape and design, and while he can't create the swords from scratch, he's at least developed his dreamotion ability enough that when he holds a plain wooden sword, he can channel an idea and emotion to produce something actually tasteful. From simple symbols down the blade to adding a bit of color to the hilt. Since these are essentially "toy" swords he's not going too far out, but it would make any young swordsman like it better than a plain one.

Holding one up and pleased by the simple yet elegant black lines curving around the hilt, he voices his thoughts allowed.]

Heh, any kid will like this. But I wonder if I should try altering the shape next... These are all simple wooden practice swords, but what if I tried to make them different like curved blades or different knives and daggers? That would make me one step closer in creating my own swords, right?

[Or so he hopes and he just hums as he continues.

By the way, the number of swords around him are likely nearing a hundred someone please stop him.]

» OPTION C: ICE FISHING «

[Fishing is another one of Rokurou's pasttimes and he is quick to set out to try his luck at the lake. After finding a spot and cutting through the ice, he sets his pole in place and sits, a cup of sake in hand.

However, instead of a nice relaxing day of fishing, he has to drop everything and hop up when the line suddenly reels out and the pole threatens to break as it bends towards the water]

Whoa—!

[Good thing he set up a brace as he drops to his knees and tries to pull the pole back while reeling the line in. Even so, he just grins.]

Heh, don't think I'll let you get away!

[Oh he's definitely fired up!!! ...Which may not actually be a good thing as he's on ice and usually his high spirited emotions tend to raise up the temperature. Even now, steam is starting to rise up from the ice's surface.]

» OPTION D: GUMDROPS «

[It can happen anywhere. In town, out in the fields, at the lake when he's fishing—wherever it is the gumdrop will strike and now Rokurou and his unfortunate partner must find a way out of it.

Fluff and Mistlefoe are preferred, though will do shippy ones with those who ask!]

» OPTION E: WILDCARD «

[This guy can do a lot of things so open to other quests on the Dream Board! Find (and fight) some noctaere for the Anti-Noctaere Research, help cut out some giant slabs of gingerbread for the Gingerbread House, help out the Coal Mining. Feel free to hit me via PM, discord, or

[Far less people in the world should want swords, in his humble opinion. Having kids smacking each other with ornate wooden planks is probably not the best idea either. He's not cheeky enough to say that out loud, though.]

Replacements, hm? Do children here play so roughly?

Don't know yet, but knowing how I was with my brothers, there will definitely be a few breaking eventually. Even if not, never hurts to have a few extras.

['A few extras'... Yujin can't help but smile.]

Do you know how to use a sword?

I'm afraid not. There's a few martial arts techniques passed down in my family, but none of my ancestors were samurai. [He reaches towards one of the nearest swords and takes it, weighing it in his hands.] However, I do know someone else who's mastered the sword. He might enjoy this.

[Yes, he is giving this to his 25+ year-old adoptive son.]

[Aah, a little disappointed...but on the other hand this guy knows martial arts?? Or something like that?

But first—]

Oh yeah? Who is he?

[GOTTA KNOW WHO THE SWORDSMAN IS]

[When he was younger, he could fling people halfway across the room. In present day... Well, he wouldn't know. He expects he might throw his back as well, but he hasn't tested it.]

... Kazuma Asogi.

[There was absolutely a small pause before he said that. He doesn't know what sort of reputation Kazuma might have around here, if at all, but... He's not ashamed to be associated with Kazuma. Not at all.]

Wha— Kazuma!?

[By how quickly Rokurou makes that exclamation it would be easy to assume the worst. But—]

Hold on, if it's for Kazuma I can make something just for him. That wooden sword wouldn't last long in his hands.

[Yujin quickly raises a hand and waves it, because the implication that this man hopes to make something for Kazuma that's sturdier than wood is an alarming one.]

Oh, no! No, thank you! You misunderstand. I don't mean to give anything to him so that he may fight with it. It's merely ornamental. [Kazuma fights plenty without shiny new weapons to use is the bitter sentiment in the back of his head, but he's too nice to say it.]

...Aah, I see. Still, I can at least design it something more to his tastes.

Do you know if he has a family crest or insignia? Or some other kind of design or motif that he'd like?

Oh! Yes, the Asogi family has a very distinct crest. Hold on, I can...

[He takes out his journal and flips it open on one of the last pages, then takes hold of his quill. He hesitates before putting the tip to the paper, though. This is a magical journal he's not very familiar with yet, so...]

Can I illustrate it in here without broadcasting it to the entire city?

...I think it should be fine? Would it send a message if you don't put someone's name on it to send to?

I... suppose not? [Says the man who's used to letters, which do indeed need an address in order to be delivered.] Let's see...

[It takes Yujin a moment of scribbling, because it's a somewhat complicated crest to get right, but he nails it in the end:]

[He leans in to take a close look before grinning.]

Yeah that shouldn't be a problem. I can put it on the side of the blade, near the hilt. [He points to spot on one of the swords he has in his hands.]

Let's see... Pretty sure Kazuma had a katana so... Maybe this one.

[He sets down the sword and picks up another one that fits more Kazuma's style.]

Anything else on it or is that enough?

Ah, no, that will be just fine! I do appreciate the effort. Thank you very much.

[He really doesn't mean to impose. Still, he may keep the sword he's currently holding for himself, then. Or give it to Susato. There's still more than enough of these things to go around, so it's fine, right?]

No problem. Gives me more opportunity to practice my skill, and Kazuma's an interesting fellow. Haven't seen him in a while, but I'll have to try and drop in sometime.

[Possibly literally. With his sword.

Anyway speaking of swords, Rokurou gets to work. He looks at the journal page again and then starts moving his finger over the wooden blade, brows furrowed as his usual carefree demeanor changes to one more of hardened focus as he concentrates. As if drawing or engraving it with his finger, the crest slowly appears until it's finished.]

And there we are. Think it came out all right.

[Yujin is such an incredible novice to dreamotion and, well, anything that normal beings usually can't do, that he's fascinated by the display. He'd experiment with these powers more himself, but at the moment he fears he might accidentally cause damage or harm. One day...! Until then, he's content to observe others.

When the sword is finished, he smiles.]

I think it came out flawlessly. Thank you very much. I'm sure Kazuma will appreciate this.

No problem, glad I could help give Kazuma something.

[A light grin as he hands over the finished wooden blade.]

Sure you don't want something for yourself? Could whip up a dagger or knife instead.

[He accepts the blade with a light bow of the head.]

Oh, no, thank you. I'm less of a knife person and more of a 'good cup of tea' person. [Sorry bro, he's boring.] Though, I would be very happy with an introduction. My name is Yujin Mikotoba.

[Aaah, yes the exchanging of names.]
