“You look different.” No surprise, just blunt observation— unnecessary, at that, given that he’d already made note of it himself, but she raises her eyebrows all the same. She’s seen people alter their shape in dreamscapes, and not always of their own choosing, but this is something else entirely. For her part, she looks mostly the same— save for black markings that have appeared on her skin, barely visible in the low light, softly pulsing as they slowly move across the surface of her limbs and chest.
She follows the line of his gaze, narrowing her own sharply as her eyes continue to adjust to the dark— or at least she imagines they do. The actual physics of such things probably don’t actually apply here. Mind over matter, right?
“Noctaere. Well, we know how to deal with them.”
Kick some ass. That’s what the two of them had agreed on the first time they’d spoken, at least.
