Perhaps that was the only bit of a clue that Jack was going to offer, that little hint that he could tell some of this was a front that maybe Reyes wasn't quite ready to let go of. Already there and ready to take whatever was coming out of this, for better or worse- prepared for the worse.

Repeating those words from earlier, his own eyes closed simply because as close as they were he was relying more on what he could hear- and feel from whatever shifting. A hand moving to rest against the side of Gabriel's neck, brushing that braid back over his shoulder a bit. That weight of Jack keeping his forehead rested against Reyes' own, stepped in a bit closer- and maybe finally feeling how tired he was.

"You're really not fucking with me," a statement, at least making it clear he believed that much even if he wasn't completely over- well. Was it still shock?
