They'd both gotten comfortable and relaxed there, especially around each other, to the point it was... habit. Meeting here, and at the rare time even called when not simply passing through it for one reason or another. Had become more than just some place to stop for a little while.

Would be easy to simply turn and react to all of that, wouldn't it? Some snide comment here, a snarl, pick up where he'd started if he wanted to just shove all of this away. Couldn't really argue against Reyes here about any of that, would all ring shallow and untrue with some weak defense and no ground to stand on. Didn't mean the mean had to say it either.
