Once they parted ways, it didn't take long for the real festivities to begin. When he rounded the corner of the block he stopped suddenly when he didn't immediately spot anything dancing about in the air. Could the costumes actually... be hiding? Could they be that clever? Sucking in a breath he walked casually forward, senses on high alert just waiting for something to give.
The first clue he found was subtle, a fluttering of drapery only spotted via peripheral vision. Even though he knew there was something lurking underneath a merchant's table he didn't want to give away that he was on to it. For the time being he lingered in the area, pretending to be clueless as he looked into other stalls. Slowly, he worked his way back to where he'd seen the disturbance. He carefully pulled off the translucent boa he was sporting and wrapped the ends around each of his hands.
Then, most startlingly he kicked the table aside and lunged for the elven costume. he looped the boa around it and twisted it hard to restrict it's ability to move before crushing the costume against the ground and securing it. "One down..." And a mess to go with it. When the attendant ran out to check on his wares the brunette was quick to assign blame. "... this did it, but it's ok... It won't bother you again." Fortunately, the man seemed to buy it so Kaiba easily moved on.
The work proceeded on tirelessly, and the bundle of clothing kept growing. It wouldn't be long before it would be time to meet back up with that girl.
