His first instinct is to yell and keep him from doing what seems, at first, something completely unnecessary. But there's a confidence to Ken that doesn't match the action, and his battle instinct tells him that the boy is up to something and there's far more to this than meets the eye.
There's nothing he can do as a doll anyway, so he hopes he's correct and he's about to see something incredible instead of this boy's death. The glass shattering alone seems to reinforce that hypothesis, before the looming creature behind him sends down lightning that strikes all around his opponents. Dolls scatter and Childe is left alone in the clearing, impressed.
