Dreambucks
(It has been a while since she visited Dreambucks and Anya thinks that it is a good time to visit it and check out the new offerings for the season. After going through the menu, she settles on a cup of Cranberry Cheer and slowly sips it while Pooka takes a nap beside her seat.

As she takes in the drink, she is starting to feel rather festive for the Russian Orthodox Christmas and the memories she once had with her family: snow falling down, playing in the snow with her sisters and brother, the quiet moments of prayers, and the beautiful sight of the Christmas tree decorated in the palace. Her crystal lantern pendant glows vibrantly as she enjoys her drink and relives the memories.

Granted, this is still very early for Christmas, but hey, a Grand Duchess can dream, right?)

Madame Blackbird’s
(It did take some time for her to find a job, but she has found employment in Madame Blackbird’s shop: assisting her in sewing and preparing materials for the clothing that needs to be made for the day. This is the best thing she can do to help the seamstress after she and Tenn found the threads for her shop.

You can find her either getting the shop ready to open for the day, sweeping the floors, or assisting Madame Blackbird in sewing a dress or a coat on the mannequin.)

Harvest Time
Hello! Do you need some help with the harvest?

(Anya just joined the harvest and she is going to assist in gathering up fruits and vegetables at the farmlands and picking up seeds for everyone to have something to eat for the winter. She is also pushing a wheelbarrow onto the fields and is checking around for any crops that she can find.

Pooka may or may not help if he isn’t seen chasing any wild animals that catch his attention.)

There are plenty of characters who hail from myths, legends, fairy tales, and old stories. The character I got during my time in there was Vasilisa the Beautiful: she is a character from the myths and folklore of my country.

I did got some resistance to fire and offensive magic along with carrying a magical wooden nesting doll and weaving fine flax threads.

I see... I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with Vasilisa the Beautiful, but she certainly sounds quite powerful. [He pauses for a few seconds, his smile faltering as he considers the implications.] Though I would hope that you did not need to use her abilities in battle too often.

Usually I use her abilities during campaigns to restore the stories besides the whole weaving flax threads part: I did learn to practice making threads through her while I was at the Realm.

Now she does have a magical wooden doll who can give her advice or help her in doing tasks in her story and I should have it with me by now, but it just vanished from my hands upon arriving in Reverein.

It vanished? That's curious. It feels as if most of our belongings came to Reverein with us. Perhaps the doll was tied to the Realm of Stories, as it came from a story? But then... Surely, the Realm of Dreams ought to be able to create a copy, then. [Is he overthinking this? Probably.]

Yes, it was tied to the Realm itself as it was from the story itself, that can explain why it didn’t come with me and my dog when we arrived in this world.

Yeah, if I wish for it hard enough, maybe the dream copy of it will show up someday.

[professorbestie]

I certainly hope so. I do apologize if this is presumptuous, but it sounds as if it was a treasured possession of yours.

Oh yes, it was a treasured item, Sir. I did treated it well like it was a child I had to look after.

[professorbestie]

A child? That's about the highest form of praise anything could receive, I believe. A very treasured item, indeed. [He's a father and he takes that job very seriously, himself.]

(Anya nods back in response. A part of her does miss the magical nesting doll so much as it is a part of her time as an Aspect in the Realm of Stories.)

Oh dear, I nearly forgot to introduce myself. My name is Anya and I work here as a seamstress for Madame Blackbird herself. I do have my dog with me at work, but he is napping at the backroom at the moment.

It's a pleasure to meet you, Anya. [He bows his head and some of his upper body with a warm smile.] My name is Yujin Mikotoba. I've only just arrived in this realm, so I'm afraid I'm still unemployed at the moment. However, I was a professor of forensics back home.

[grandduchess_anya]

Well, it is nice to meet you, Yujin. I have been in this world for a few months already so far, though that it is nothing worth bragging about.

Oh, a professor of forsenics. That sounds like an interesting job to have, what sort of the topics you teach about in the subject?

[professorbestie]

Well, let's see... Some of the returning basics are proper autopsy procedures, basic pathology, toxicology- that's the study of drugs and poisons... [He shakes his head a bit.] Truth be told, while forensic science is a fascinating subject, it's also a grim one.

[grandduchess_anya]

Oh wow, that sounds like really a tough subject for many to study about. Is it always that difficult to teach to the students if I may ask? I am just wondering right now.

[professorbestie]

[This is the point where most of Yujin's peers would advise Anya not to be too curious about it, as it's not a subject fit for girls. Yujin, however, is unlike his peers in that regard. If Anya wants to learn more, she should learn more.]

How difficult it is would depend entirely on what sort of student you are. If you hold a lot of curiosity, along with an affinity towards biology and medicine, it's really rather easy to study.

(While Anya may not have a wide experience with biology or medicine from her world or her time in the Realm of Stories, she does have a lot of curiosity to learn just about anything, even with stuff she isn’t familiar. After all, she did found some stuff in Baba Yaga’s hut in the Halloween Dreamshift.)

Well, this is going to be an interesting subject for anyone to learn. I know that I don’t have any hands on experience with biology or medicine back in my old world, but I’m still impressive.

I think that I may have gotten an early start when I volunteered to search for clues in Baba Yaga’s hut last month and I did found some things in there with my partner.

Baba Yaga? [He frowns, raising a hand to his chin.] I'm sorry, I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with that name.

Baba Yaga is a prominent figure in the folk tales from my country: she is a fierce looking old witch in Slavic mythology who could either help or hinder the characters on their quests depending on the story being told.

She was said to live in a hut that stands on chicken legs and would ride around on a giant mortar, along with having a connection to the forest wildlife.

[He feels like he's missing something a little vital, here.]

Ah, pardon. You said she's a figure who originates from folk tales, yet you searched her hut only last month? In this place?

Yes, it is true. For the longest time, I honestly thought the tales about her were just simply fairy tales until recently two months.

Both me and my investigation partner went into her hut in a Halloween themed dreamshift when the town in there was plagued in nightmare fueled chaos and people of the town had sent us and several others to head into her hut and search around for clues.

[professorbestie]

Hmm... Well, I suppose fictional characters can make their way into one's dreams, thus it stands to reason they could be born into this world... [And if that's true, he wonders what else is possible around here. But that's a thought for another day.]

What sort of clues did you find in her hut?

[grandduchess_anya]

I was able to find several scarps of papers with a spell written on them, a small bottle of goop, and broken pieces of yellow and orange candy. I’m currently trying to piece together the paper scraps to see what spell is saying and what are they there in the hut for.

That's very curious. You said that Baba Yaga would either help or hinder people depending on the story, correct? So then, I suppose the question would be... What was her goal here?

[grandduchess_anya]

Yes, that is right. I’m still trying to figure this one out as well, though it can be very difficult to pinpoint whether she is on our side or not at this time.

Perhaps someone is trying to use one of her spells or recipes in that dreamshift, so she had to hide some of her things to prevent that person from using them for bad things and that we can figure what the person was trying to do with them.

[professorbestie]

[Hm... It's certainly possible someone would hope to use the witch's powers for their own gain. He should hope not, though.]

Do you think a person like that would walk among us? Or would they be, perhaps, some sort of higher power? [Like that Story Eater thing, for example]

It is possible that the person might be a higher power. I have a funny feeling that we will all have to find the answers in due time, even if it might take us a long time to solve it.
