come sail away
Who: Demigods and you!
Which: log
Where: out on the ocean!!
What: hijinks of the nautical variety
Warnings: dumb shit, probably

With a few reminders sent to their journals over the past few weeks for the people interested in going on the "cruise" with Percy and Leo, it's finally the day that they're going to set sail. If they needed help, they would've sent off lists of things for people to bring if they needed it. Mostly it was food, drinks, and whatever necessities the character would need throughout their three-day journey. That's right! They're going to be sailing for about three days, leaving on the 15th and coming back by the evening-ish of the 17th, depending on how long Things...take.
Well, the day's finally come for the Argo to set sail! While a normal trireme looks like the header above, Leo's made some adjustments. There aren't single cabins for everyone, but there's enough to be divided two rooms each by boys and girls. Though if more boys go than girls, there will be one room for the girls and three for the boys. There's one set of rooms at the back of the ship, and then another set at the front of the ship -- the rooms themselves have bunkbeds in them to maximize space. There are also of course, bathrooms, and even trap doors on the deck and through the doors of the sleeping rooms to get to the underbelly of the ship in the case something happens. The underbelly has their storage supplies otherwise, mostly food but extras of linens, rope, boxes, fishing gear, and miscellaneous other things that may be needed on the trip. The engine of the ship is also down below, which makes the storage area kinda hot to be in, though it's vented as well as it can be.
The head of the ship has a plug-in for Festus, who is now dog sized and is able to plug and unplug from the ship to control it at will.
Even if you're not going on the cruise, you're more than welcome to look and hang around outside the ship. Be careful though, because Percy might pop up and try to talk you into coming with last minute! They had prepared for most food kind of situations, and there's more than enough room for the people in Reverein to come and come with. The two demigods, Leo and Percy, will be running around making last minute preparations. It's probably the most focused anyone but their canonmates had ever seen them, so there's also the ability to gawk at that too.
Day one and part of day two is definitely the most calm part of the voyage. The weather's nice, (for now) and there's several activities people can take part in! The sun is out, the waves are calm, and it's time to get in that ocean!
A. FISHING.
Due to popularNoctis' demand, there's fishing gear on the boat. Maybe not enough for everyone to have, so there may have to be some sharing and taking turns among the passengers. Or not. That's fine too.
Percy will be keeping a mild eye on anyone fishing -- he doesn't want anyone to go crazy and either overfish or hurt anything that they wouldn't be eating on the ship. That's right! anything caught won't be wasted, but cooked up by Leo. That's also an insistence on Percy's part...no waste allowed.
If you do accidentally catch something that's not edible, though, Percy reminds everyone to just call him and he'll figure out how to minimize the damage to the animal and put it back in its home.
B. DIVING.
Percy will also be overseeing anyone and taking people on dives! Feel free to handwave him nearby if you'd like, but he'll be helping people breathe underwater. Preferably no more than 3 or 4 people to a single thread at once, if people want to go under in groups, because Percy is one person and can't help everyone breathe underwater all at once. So each thread otherwise we'll just handwave that they're staggered out in time so we don't exhaust the demigod.
See some fishy creatures that might be native to your world, or others? Feel free to add them to the bestiary so we can give Lae or whoever her list mods are something to do for this event. Otherwise go hog wild and swim to your heart's content!
Example: There will be a Ophiotaurus swimming around the seas that will become Percy's new best friend. He'll name it Bessie Jr, and no he's not taking criticism.
C. SPLISH SPLASH.
Not interested in diving? Just swimming in the water is also fine! Just assume that any characters swimming are being supervised by Percy, whether he's in the water or watching from the ship. He's not about to let anyone drown.
There are also some rigged up flotation devices via Leo for anyone who wants to just float and/or can't swim as well. And for the more adventuresome characters, Leo has...installed a slide-like contraption on the side of the ship for people who want to jump in and out of the water that way. There's a couple of rope ladders thrown on the side of the boat too, for ease of access and getting back onto the boat.
...What had happened is, Percy and Jason got into a little bit of a competition. They kind of want to see who the strongest demigod is, and while they are out over the ocean a little farther away from the ship, there's still rain coming down onto it. There's some tarps and umbrellas to take shelter under, and then of course the sleeping spaces which are dry. This is going to be near the end of Day 2.
A. IN FRONT OF MY SALAD??
So...with all the wind and rain and tiny hurricane that's mostly surrounding the two demigods (but still causing some rain and wind onto the ship itself), you can try to call out to them. Throw rocks at them or something, or have Leo shoot some fireballs in their direction. They're completely oblivious to the inconvenience they're causing because they're in their own little worlds right now, honestly.
B. FORGET THEM
Okay, whatever. Let the dumb boys tire themselves out. There will be hot chocolate served and maybe some fishy (or non fishy, for those that won't appreciate it) soup to go around. Towels and blankets are available, and with everyone warm and cozy and sheltered from the contest going on outside...how about some story times? Creepy stories? It is starting to get dark, after all...this could be a regular bonding time.
Did your character fall asleep? Maybe you wanna draw on them a little mustache or something--COUGH. Be nice to your fellow cabinmates!
Sooo...between the nightmare energy and all the ruckus that the ship has caused on the ocean the past few days, on the 3rd day while they're coming back, there's gonna be some...visitors.
A. NOT THIS SHIT AGAIN.
This is the moment that Percy was waiting for -- for the other shoe to drop. It's why he'd been asking for people who knew how to fight, who could help protect the ship. The serpent is incredibly angry, mostly for the disturbance in its seas and the hurricane that had just spawned yesterday afternoon and evening for no reason. It'll be splashing water into the boat, that at least Percy will be able to redirect from making it plunge or capsize completely. The fact that he's trying to keep the boat steady coupled with the fact that he isn't letting water splash overboard and into the safe spots of the boat means he's not able to fight with 100% capability. Which is where you come in.
It only pisses off the serpent even more that the little toy sailboat (to it) hasn't just given up already.
Send help? People who are able to throw things or have ranged weapons or magic may be able to help Percy slay this creature, but there's other problems that's starting to happen on the ship.
B. SHARKNADO.
Well, not exactly a sharknado, but the serpent is throwing other creatures onto the deck in its fury and flapping of its tail as it fights Percy. There's large, sharklike monsters on the deck as well as monstrous blowfish that keep exploding and sending spines everywhere. They won't be able to hit any internal organs, but they are a pain in the ass and probably hurt like hell if someone's struck with them.
Oh? There's also a few starfish flying out of the ocean too from the serpent, throwing them so that they can cling to anything or anybody in the most inconvenient places that may hinder the fighting.
C. OH THANK GOD ITS OVER.
Finally, everything seems to have calmed down. The serpent has been chased away, as well as its minions, and it's time to regroup as Reverein starts to get closer. Mending wounds, making sure that the headcount is accurate, etc. It's time for everyone to breathe a little bit, and Leo and Percy will definitely be helping where they can.
Aaand the people on the ship have landed! Whether or not they actually enjoyed themselves is completely up to them, but regardless, everyone ends up coming back safe and sound. Mingle, sigh in huge relief that they lived, try to regain their land legs, or even just say farewell to everyone before going back to their respective homes. The trip ended up being informative to some who was curious on what was out there, but for characters like Percy, it just makes him even more hungry to adventure out on the ocean.
Until next time?
Something that I didn't cover that your character wanted to do while out on the water? Do whatever you like! If it's going to affect the sea world, make sure you ask or let a mod know. If there's something that's going to happen to the boat (like accidental fires when Leo gets too damn excited about something), make sure to ask/let myself (
angelona) or Kat (
crystallium) know! We're pretty flexible, and we want everyone who wants to be involved to have a good time since we've been talking about this for a while so have fun! Be wild! Do dumb protag things! (looking at y'all Sora, Link, Beat, and Percy....)

Sailing the ocean seas!

IV. OH MY GOD
Sooo...between the nightmare energy and all the ruckus that the ship has caused on the ocean the past few days, on the 3rd day while they're coming back, there's gonna be some...visitors.

Yeah, that sucked.
But honestly, he's said it once, and he'll say it again. Everyone at camp has crushed on Percy at some point and time, so that's the least of his concerns about this dream.
But he also knows better than to directly approach Nico, especially since he pissed Nico off by jokingly submitting him to be Night King, so he finds a piece of paper and draws a rainbow and the words "LEO = ALLI" and leaves it in the Crow's Nest that he knows Nico will eventually go back to.
Don't mind him, making sure to take extra laps around the deck to see if Nico ever came out to see his note.]
no subject
Which isn't to say he's all sunshine and chipper now. Because he's never that, but he's less likely to act like an angry cat.
So with that in mind, and the fact he can avoid people just as well, if not better, in the crow's nest than bellow decks, he returns to the crow's nest and finds the note.
He doesn't know what to make of it. It stirs up his anger toward Leo for nominating him for the Night Court. The anger he had for making Hazel cry, for being stupid enough to try something like the Physcian's Cure, something that could have gotten him killed again by Zeus or Hades the instant he came back to life.
For all that he's glad Leo's not dead, the fact he basically gave his father the middle finger does not sit well with Nico.
Never mind that he would have resurrected Bianca while the doors of death were open and Thanatos was chained if she hadn't chosen reincarnation already. Never mind that he brought Hazel back because he wanted a sister more than the fact he could sense she still had a destiny to fulfill. He's aware of the hypocrisy, which only makes him more irritable. And just from his time on the Argo II together, remembering all the times Leo looked at him with disgust or fear, the snipe little comments. It just makes him feel like Leo's making fun of him.
He takes a breath and melts into shadow.
Then right into Leo's path. He thrusts out the note into the other boy's chest.]
What the hell is this, Valdez?
no subject
Yeah, it's definitely terrifying.
Leo isn't proud of the sound he made at Nico's sudden appearance, but as the other demigod shoves a piece of paper at his chest, Leo looks down and realizes it's the note he left Nico.]
You got my note! [obviously.] Well, you see, I saw your dream, and I was like "wow that sucks so much, no wonder they didn't want to talk about what happened that day". And I knew you wouldn't want to talk about it, because wow, so I left you the note so you would know I'm an ally and you're all good! No need to worry about me. You got my support, mi hermano. Love is Love. Yas Queen.
[...he's only making this worse for himself, isn't he.]
no subject
What the fuck is coming out of your mouth?
[Nico doesn't swear too much, but this seems like a good time to drop the f-bomb.]
Do you ever think before you speak? Don't call me 'queen'! I'm a boy!
no subject
No, I was just trying to say-- I support you! It's all good! We're cool! Those are just cool pride sayings, I swear!!
[Leo might be taking a step backwards, just in case Nico isn't convinced by his plea. He really was just trying to be nice!!]
no subject
He'd be lying if he didn't enjoy the way Leo backed up.]
I have been out for three months, and I have yet to hear any of that come out of anyone else's mouth.
no subject
[Leo takes another step back, which should make Nico even happier.]
Just ask Percy! Percy's gone to rough public schools, he would know!
[....Er. Maybe asking him to ask Percy about this sort of thing was a bad idea.]
no subject
Leo. Shut up. And no, he hasn't. He went to private schools!
no subject
[The Wilderness Academy was just one of many. If he hadn't found Piper and met Jason there... who knows what random ass school he'd be at now.]
no subject
[Nico has zero recollection of school in Italy, and he spent, like, five months in modern schools, split between DC and Maine.]
So they were alternatives? they were still private. Private means expensive.
[Nico knows some stuff about money since his father's the god of it, basically. Well, shares it with Hermes.]
