[With a mixture of hope and trepidation, Sora reaches out. Trying to grasp at the last thread that hangs between the two of them. He can't see it nor can he feel it but he wants to believe that it's somehow there. He needs to know.]

Roxas?

[He follows the twinge of colour like sunset golds that he can see in the air. His hand reaches for it but it only frays as his fingers barely touch. The swirl of colour and the bouncing light that follows makes him inhale and hold his breath like he's too afraid to empty his lungs. He feels like he has to whisper,]

Is that ... you? What happened?

[As Sora touches the wisp, it pulses and recoils slightly, a burst of fear and confusion pulsing through Sora's fingertips. But as Sora's hand continues to remain there, the wisp draws closer, sensing a familiarity in that touch. And as Sora's hands pass over that golden-yellow light, he'll be hit with more emotions; concern and worry for a friend, the desire to protect another from harm, pain from an unseen attack, a lingering confusion at what's happening all around him, an iron-hard will to keep fighting despite the darkness around him.]

[And beneath it all, a familiar, soul-deep desire to live, to exist, to persist and keep living, to please let him live, don't let him fade away again--]

[With such emotions, it's all but confirmed that the small wisp in Sora's palm is, in fact, his Nobody.]

[That little tiny touch on the tip of his fingertip somehow tells a story. He can feel the light flicker of emotions and softness, the lingering confusion and emotions that go alongside it. It's hard to tell what exactly happened but it resonates with Sora in a way he can't put into words.]

Roxas... Were you protecting someone?

[He opens his palm to let the wisp rest there should it want to. The ache fills his heart and Sora feels tears filling his eyes that he can't stop.]

I don't want you to leave, Roxas.

[He wishes he had the power of waking. It's been unresponsive inside of him for so long. If he could only rewind whatever happened to Roxas and bring him back...]

Don't worry... I'm not going to let you fade away. You're not going anywhere. Somehow... we'll figure it out.
