For everyone - The Open Prompt!
[ It doesn't really matter what brings you here, but something does, either way. Be it a trip between regions, the urge to explore, caught off guard by a wild spider monkey and chased down. Either way, along your travel you spot a peculiar sight. What appears to be... a tent? And several perfectly shaped circle slab seats around. Even more peculiar, there seems to be a young girl just... laying back against a stone arch like it's a hammock, sipping from a thin metal cup. Her eyes are closed, and her head doesn't turn as you approach. (Or perhaps you don't approach, either way, she calls out) ]
Hey! Are you lost?
[ So helpful. ]
For Najaran
[ Huh, another person way out here? It's not what she's expecting. A familiar figure is close by, and by the feel of it, not doing too hot. Toph's comfortable in her campsite, but she reaches out and slams an arm down, shooting small stone markers up to help guide Najaran towards her from a (surprising) distance. Slightly smug smile on her lips. ]
For Iroh
[ The noise comes expected, perhaps. There's a short shadow by the door and a quiet. Knock, knock, knock.]

[ You know the drill! Poke me onhantale or Hantale on discord, or DM here if you want to plan something. Otherwise, this is the catch-all for silly scenarios, memes, or whatever else you might want to throw at her.
For the sake of planning, assume she's travelling around a lot and sorting out her own food, often camping somewhere or relaxing in a calm area. Maybe helping locals repair structures. ]

[ She nods. It wouldn't be Tolkien if it was any less convoluted, it's true. ]
Yeah? What have you been doing since you got here? I've been wandering around trying to burn time and figure this place out.
no subject
Thinking, mostly, and wandering around trying to get my bearings a bit. And talking to those who have shown me kindness in this new place, ofcourse.
no subject
[ She has her specific interests. ]
I'm not really big on cities, so this suits me a bit better I think. There's a cliffside further out, but the creatures out there get a bit weirder.
Have you met the tree-deeralopes yet?
no subject
[Maedhros tend to favor pragmatism when fighting.]
Depends on the city for me. A calm city with less people around is not so bad. [His ears perk up a bit at the mention of wierd creatures, mostly because it brings to mind how much his brother would love hearing about it.] Wierd how?
I can't say I've had the pleasure yet, though now I'm kind of curious what a tree-deeralope might be.
no subject
[ She talks like she has far too much experience here. Hmm. ]
Not good, that's what it is. Pretends to be a tree, hides in the ground to try and catch people. They're probably pretty dangerous if they manage to grab you...
[ A thought occurs. ]
I should start charging people as a guide or something.
no subject
[His face take on a mildly dissaproving look, not for the girl herself but more for whoever let her put herself in what sounds like a less than ideal situation for a child to be in.]
Are they predatory? Or simply territorial? [Both were a problem, ofcourse, but they were problems that needed to be handled differently depending on the awnser.] Either way it does sound like a problem...
Perhaps you should, and if you need a guard for your tour you are more than welcome to contact me for it.
no subject
A bit of both. Maybe? Not really my problem.
[ A shame she can't see the disapproval on his face, there's a slightly sarcastic tone to her voice though, unable to hide it. ]
A guard... riiiight. And you can fight off a whole pack of snake-dogs?
no subject
Curious, I'll have to look into it one of these days...
[If he wasn't so amused by here attitude he would be slightly insulted at that, but then it wasn't like she'd know about him and what he was capable of either. So he couldn't exactly blame her for not taking him at his word.]
I don't know what snake-dogs are but I regularly sent packs of Warg's running back to Angband with their tails tucked between their legs... if they managed to run fast enough, ofcourse.
no subject
And I don't know what Wargs are... so, I guess you'll have to find out sometime.
[ She springs an idea. ]
Actually... All I have is some bread with me. Want to come hunting? I know there's some plants and mushrooms about, but we can probably find something tastier.
no subject
Disgusting, malformed wolf-things inhabited by dark spirits. I guess I'll have to, if there are any of those things here.
I would love to, actually, it's been quite some time since I last had time to hunt. And sharing a meal with what I hope is a new friend is always a welcome thing.
no subject
[ She hops up, definitely not just enthusiastic to have someone else do most of the cooking work. She can manage on her own but starting fires and cooking is a pain. ]
I'd say that way. But I don't think the snake dogs are going to be that tasty... so, different direction?
no subject
No. I'd say they don't sound very appetizing at all, so a different direction would probably be preferable. Are there perhaps any bodies of water around here? We might find a trail worth following from such a place?
no subject
There's one just down... that way? A small spring. Not super big though.
[ Clearly she's become familiar with the area. ]
no subject
Doesn't need to be big, as long as the water's drinkable animals will visit it from time to time.
[At least one of them is. He hasn't had the time to truly explore this particular part just yet.]
no subject
What are you waiting for? Lets go then!
no subject
Yes, let us set forth my friend. It's been far too long since I last hunted in good company.
no subject
Yeah yeah. I'll try to leave something for you to catch as well.
[ She's clearly teasing, yet it sounds weirdly genuine. ]
no subject
Many thanks, my young friend. Though I do not mind yielding the killing blow to a skilled hunter, I was never as competetive as my brother in the hunt.
[There is both fondness and amusement in his tone, for all that he's not known her long he does find her likable company.]
no subject
We'll see what we find. I don't think there's any animals nearby... but the water is fairly close. You want to take it from there?
no subject
Not close, at least, not that I can hear in any case. But water is always a good place to start, all creatures need to drink sooner or later. I'll find the tracks, old or new they'll still give me some information to go on.
obligatory gag tag
Maedhros, right? What do your elf eyes see?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[ But actually. It doesn't take them too long to reach the water, Toph lingering by his side with her arms crossed over her chest, waiting. She can feel a few tracks, but anything near the water is a bit fuzzy. ]
What do you think?
XD
The hoofprints might be from some sort of deer and they are not so very old as to not be worth pursuing.
Re: XD
[ She gives him a nudge, a faint gesture to lead and she'll follow. Her senses around wet ground and mud always tend to blur things anyway. ]
Do you have any friends here... Maedhros?
no subject
[He starts following the tracks, steps so light and graceful he might as well be floating instead of walking.]
A few... perhaps? I met a very kind man who offered me a cup of tea when I first got here and we sang a couple of songs as well. I'd like to think that makes us friends of a sort. How about you, young Toph? Any friends here?
no subject
A kind man offering tea? That sounds like Iroh. He's a friend of mine too, actually.
And Zuko is here as well, they're both from the same place as me. But Zuko's closer to my age I guess. We're good friends, I think.
