i. take 1! coastal forests

[ A few weeks have passed since he arrived, and in that time, his efforts have largely focused on keeping an eye on Ichiru and securing a supply of drugs potions for his little blood problem. Ichiru is a nuisance sometimes, so he cools off by taking errands from his supplier in exchange for a little vial of ruby-red liquid. The deal wouldn't be so bad if he didn't go through his vials so quickly! So, here he is, on the hunt for his next fix.

Today, he's looking for a particular fruit tree that's supposed to bind two people together or some other nonesense. It grows near the beach so that's where he's headed clad in a pair of sandals, long shorts,  a shirt, and a thin summer hoodie with short sleeves to keep the sun away. Near the peak of summer, the beach is filled with way too many people. Zero heads straight for the forest right off the beach, away from the crowds and starts looking.

A few hours later...

He's tired, cranky, and a little dehydrated and no closer to finding that damn tree! He finally finished his water bottle an hour ago and decided to call it quits then and there. A little closer to the beach, he's still treking through foliage, pushing away the thin branches that keep nicking him which isn't as annoying as the bugs that don't leave him alone! Looking a little worse for wear, he steadily heads back to the beach. If you happen to run into him, please do not annoy. He's grouchy and a little irritable. -_- ]


ii. zero 0:1 beach umbrella 

[ So... his first attempt at finding the destiny tree failed spectacurarly, and no one is more annoyed by this than Zero. You think that would be the low point of his day, but you'd be wrong. He can always go lower. His little four hour trek through the coastal forest did a number on him and now he's stuck under a beach umbrella recovering from heat exhaustion. 

A little less cranky than before, he doesn't have the energy to bite off anyone's head right now, so feel free to poke the wild beast, he won't bite; much. ]


iii. take 2! night hikes

[ His beach adventure ends in failure, but the day isn't over yet, and the night is still young. Having recovered from heat exhaustion a litlte too quickly, must be those hunter genes, Zero is back that night better prepared for a night hike. This time, he brings a hiking backpack with him, and exchanges the sandals for something sturdier. Apparently, he's not the only one who thinks it's a great night to stay out because there's quite a number of fire pits scatterd across the beach with idiots dancing around the flames while drinking.

Zero ignores them and heads into the woods. If he runs into anyone, he'll ask them if they've seen a paopu tree that looks like a palm tree with star shaped fruit, and even hands them a drawing he got from the potion maker. Any information is appreciated. ]

ii. I wish I could say I'm sorry for what's about to happen but... hum

[ Naturally, having nothing better to do, Ichiru was bothering his sun-struck brother. from his endeavors of hunting the fruit tree to the beach umbrella Zero is currently sheltering under.

At the very least, he secured water for himself and Zero (if water would do any good for him). Of course, he doesn't approach his brother like a normal person. That would be too easy. Instead, the poor, unfortunate soul gets his arm dropped around him from behind and his chin on his shoulder. Yes, it's hot, but Ichiru doesn't run hot.

How fortunate is that! ]

Having some troubles, Zero?~

You're never sorry!!!

[ Low on energy, Zero's running slow, missing Ichiru's approach until his arm lands across his shoulder, making him stiffen in place. He takes about 2.5 seconds to register who it is, and sighs, too exhausted to deal with this idiot. ]

What do you want, Ichiru?

[ His voice is low, tired. He doesn't even have the energy to push him off, letting him sprawl as he likes. He's tired, a little loopy from exposure, and Ichiru feels cool. ]

[ Ichiru wasn't hiding himself to begin with. After all, he assumed that Zero would sense or hear him regardless of what he was doing. His twin brother had a knack for tracking people. Ichiru wasn't any exception to that. He just tilts his head, the smile on his face unwavering at the low tired voice. ]

Nothing in particular. I saw you wandering all by your lonesome, so I thought I'd come and trouble you.

[ Perhaps, it's all those years of being sick, but his body temperature isn't as warm as most. Even in the heat, he could probably wear a sweater or something along those lines with a high collar. ]

That's what I thought!!!

[ This time, he'll get a small scowl that's nowhere near his usual one. Leave him alone! He's tired. ]

I wasn't wandering.

[ Zero runs warm, even under the shade, he can't seem to get rid of the heat until Ichiru presses up against him. The heat quickly escapes from him and pours into his brother cooling him off, and making him a little less irritable. ]

hahahah. It's done out of love. maybe............

[forsakens]

[ Was he expecting any less of Ichiru at this point? What else would his younger twin brother be doing wandering the heat? ]

Then what were you doing? You circled that forest quite a few times before coming here.

[ See? Look, he's useful, kind of. Outside of the snarky remarks of course. ]

Love my ass!!!! He just likes to irritate him!!!

[ Unlike Ichiru, Zero doesn't just goof off! He has things to do! He's not here for fun! ]

Why do you care?

[ Look. Low energy doesn't automatically make him 'good' company. He's still a stubborn ass. Getting info from him will always be like pulling teeth unless he's actively seeking information and needs to give a little to get a little. ]

it's one of his favorite hobbies and it is with love :|

[ Well, he's not Zero who has a ton of responsibilities back home. So he gets to live his life pretty casually. Better than trying to find ways to die, at least. ]

Eh--? You got it wrong. I don't care. I was just-- curious.

[ When is Zero ever good company? Ichiru makes it good company and Zero has to deal with it. Getting information from Zero may be pulling teeth all the time, but Ichiru finds sit quite endearing that Zero is so stubborn about the information. ]

I was also curious as to why Zero had been wandering around the forest all day.

[ You mean, dumb ways to die? Yeah, let's not do that again.

That answer gives him an unimpressed look. Leave him alone, Ichiru. This time, he does shove him away with his elbow. Stay in your corner.

And he's not stubborn about it. It just doesn't pertain to you, you nosy bastard! ]

Better there than here.

[ A sentiment he wholeheartedly feels in this moment with people all around him, while the hot sun beats down on all of them, trapping him beneath the 4x4 shade. At least, the forest had shade. ]

HAHAHA it's canon, you cannot deny this

[ Whatever Zero wants to call it. Ichiru doesn't care either way. He's found a hobby here and he's sure to stick to it. It's quite entertaining when Zero gets all fussy with him when he's only teasing his brother. The elbow shove is ineffective because he has two arms and the free one, following the shoved one is now attached to his arm.

Yes, the same one that he tried to shove Ichiru with. That makes it two times since they met up. that Zero's still trying to do this. Has his brother not learned it is impossible when Ichiru wants to be a menace? ]

Because it's shady?

[ Ichiru doesn't mind the warm weather. Maybe it's because he didn't go out so much when he was so sick that the weather and things around seem a bit more breathtaking. It's quite nice to see things in person rather than from a window inside a room. Any time he stepped outside, he got sick. It didn't matter what kind of weather there was. ]

i. at least she's less annoying

[ It's that time of the year-- one of which she remembers quite clearly. Her first time in this dream world was also summertime. The bright sunlit beach with its glittering sands. It might be normal for a person to dress lightly for the beach, but Alisaie was still wearing her entire battle gear, rapier at the side and shoes definitely not made for the sand.

She was doing more exploring and practicing than anything. Sometimes when she had a lot of thoughts a little dive into the sea water helps. So, damp and pleased with herself she continued her way into the forest. She stayed there much longer than anticipated and noticed the silvery-haired man traversing it earlier.

It's been a few hours and she thinks he might be lost. With a head tilt and audible steps, she approached the rather irritable person. ]

Are you mayhap, lost?

Meet another twin without your brothers practicality.

[ Leaning against a tree with a few bugs flying around him like vultures, Zero hears someone's approach and hopes they'll just keep moving. But, of course, he's not that lucky. Looking irritated, he turns his head in her direction, and shakes his head. ]

I know where I'm going.

[ He'd sound a little more convincing if there wasn't dried blood on his forehead from when he slipped on a rock - damn sandals! - and hit his head on a tree. The cut healed instantly, and the blood dried right away in the heat. Let's just say he makes quite a sight. ]

she's just.... "right."

[ Helping people outcomes with the line of work. She's done too much with relief efforts that she won't simply ignore someone, even if they say they're 'fine.'

The dry blood on his head can say otherwise. She doesn't roll her eyes but does shift her position a bit. ]

Is there something particular you were looking for, then? Mayhap, you should get that-- injury looked...at.

[ Depending on his reply, she might offer to heal him. Though, he does look a little-- dehydrated. She searches herself for a moment before procuring water. ]

You look like you could use some water as well.

He doesn't give a crap. Perfect meeting!

[ Irritable, Zero isn't forthcoming with this words. Maybe an hour ago he might have asked her about the tree, right now, he's done with it. He just wants to get back, take a shower, and sleep. He'll come back tonight and try again. At least then, he won't have to contend with the heat! ]

It's healed.

[ He knows there's some blood but didn't think much of it then, and doesn't think much of it now, but he does perk up a little - not that there's much of a change in his expression - at the offer of water. Given how thirsty he is, he can't quite ignore that offer. ]

You have water?

[ Alisaie raises a brow and tilts her head to the side at his blunt statement. Well-- she wondered who was pissed off? So much so that he's walking around with dried blood on his face. ]

Others will misunderstand if you leave your healed injury like that.

[ Because-- SER, you look like you took a beating. ]

Aye. [ She nods her head and hands him the container of water. ]

This heat is atrocious. I pray that you won't pass out from it.

All his meetings are perfect!

[ It's none of their business what he looks like. If he were back home, the Headmaster would badger him to death about the injury and probably insist on cleaning it himself. Zero would probably end up smacking him for his efforts while his teacher watched him comfortably from his chair, amused by the ordeal.

The thing is, Kaien and Yagari aren't here, which means he can do what he wants. Screw what 'people' think. He's not in the mood, not with heat exhaustion having firmly laid its claim on him.

He takes the container from her, and without preamble, drinks it all in one go, spilling a bit on his thin summer hoodie in his haste. ]

I'm fine.

[ He hands her back the empty bottle, throat less parched. Fingers pressed against his temple, he takes a few moments to shake some of the heat exhaustion. ]

hahaa I'm so glad. Alisaie is just like .... okay you're weird. but okay.

[ She shrugs and then digs around for a moment. she manages to pull out a cloth of some kind and doused it with some nondrinking water before handing it to him anyway. Seriously, though, she's more concerned about people almost getting a heart attack when seeing him. Especially, when many care about the well-being of others. Herself included. ]

It cannot be that troublesome to wipe off some dried blood, good Ser.

[ She replied before pushing the cloth at him while taking the empty container from him. She'll have to go refill that, but content that she's able to provide some help to this prickly person. She can't wrap her finger around it, but he doesn't seem like a bad person. ]

There will be many people that will react the same way as I did when they see you in such a state.

[ She almost ran at him with a Vercure for that appearance. ]

Hahaha Now HE thinks SHE'S Weird!!! I love it!!

[ His hand drops, and lavender eyes with shades of silver slip to her.

Ser???? Yeah. No, he's not having none of that. Now who's acting weird! He's taking that wet cloth from you now, thanks. ]

Zero.

[ He corrects. Using the wet cloth, for its intended purpose before she tries something funny like try to clean him up like a fussy weirdo. He's watching you. ]

II

[refantasma]

[The shade in the umbrella, the darkness bubbles and boils, and out of it comes a teenage boy dressed in a pair of ripped black jeans and a t-shirt with a skull wearing a crown. He looks down at the man under the umbrella with him.]

Yo.

[He looks around, scowling at the beach. Then he blows out a sigh.]

[moonlitknight]

[ No. Just no.

You can't just come out of a black hole and not expect to get smacked! Do you know who comes out of phantom black holes in his world?! Vampires! That's who!

So the moment that skull-wearing idiot comes out, Zero snaps his arm out to grab him by the collar to reel him back in. ]

Who. Are. You.

[ Oh, you are only so lucky you don't scream vampire to him or he'd have a gun to your face right about now. Though, he does not look too pleased right now. Congratulations, you've got his attention. ]

[refantasma]

[Nico hasn't really paid attention to the other man, muttering that he overshot and this stupid dream messes with his powers when the strange man grabs him by the collar.

Instincts kick in, and he grabs his sword from his waist, and he has the tip pointed at the other man's throat.]

Nico, son of Hades. Now let go.

[moonlitknight]

[ ooc; If only he was CRAU and he let him know about his titular title of Hades, but alas, he's straight from canon! ]

[ He files away the claim to Hades, but doesn't move an inch, even with that sword pointed at his throat. It's not the first time he's been in this position by someone with a bigger chip on his shoulder. Fortunately for Nico, he also caught some of his mutterings. Alongside all the information he gathered in those few seconds, he paints a much different picture than 'vampire'.

He lets go. Drops his hand and turns back to the crashing waves ahead, ignoring that sword. He's tired and hot. And a weird kid coming out of a black hole is pretty much rock bottom on his list of things he needs to deal with right now. ]

[Excuse you, the chip on Nico's shoulder is considerably smaller than it used to be.

As soon as he's let go, he puts his sword back in the chain wrapped around his waist.

He stares at the weird man for a moment, then sniffs and looks at the sea, then at the sky.]

Ugh. Does it have to be so sunny?

[The sun doesn't drain him or his powers, but it is annoying.]

[ The sound of the sword scraping along the edge of that chain is amplified by his supernatural hearing making him grimace. The waves soon crash back into focus bringing with them a calm the black hole stole from under him.

Zero leans forward, elbows on his knees, and rests his temple on his arms, no longer on high alert. Heat exhaustion is still a familiar memory, and while he was never in danger, it still took a toll on him. Less moody, he's too tired to question black holes and Greek gods from legend. ]

It's the beach.

[ He'd grumble about it if he wasn't half spent roaming the coastal forest all morning. Next time, he's asking for a map. Right now, he just needs to cool down. ]

[Nico frowns and then sits down in the sand.]

Beach doesn't automatically mean sunny. I live off the New York Sound. We get storms, especially when Zeus or Poseidon is mad.

[ Zeus and Poseidon. Right. You've got some colorful stories there. Too bad, he's too tired to call bullshit on it. ]

Zeus and Poseidon aren't here.

[ Which means bright sunny days in summer. Also, don't think he didn't recognize that city. It recontextualizes who he's talking to. Someone from his world or similar enough. ]
