HELPING HANDS
Not long after the message sent by Alastor and Eustace arrives, the desert sand near the eastern Outer Range can be seen rippling and shifting before a giant sand worm erupts from the surface, its massive head climbing high into the sky before it falls to the ground, shaking the ground. It slithers over the surface, revealing several large train-like cars attached to its sides. When it finally stops, there is silence before steam emits from the cars, the large doors open, and ramps fall to the ground. Even then, it takes several moments before the first Orkilin steps out. Covered in black cloaks, they carefully walk out, more following behind until they all huddle under the shadows of the canyons, some even seeking refuge in the large crack openings that serve as shallow caves. It's been a long time since they've seen the sun, perhaps this being their first time.
More details on everything can be found here. We will request any thread submissions for certain prompts during AC. For more information, refer to the Game Notes.
I. HELPING HANDS
Many of the Orkilins will be wary and hide beneath their thick cloaks, but others will be a little more forthcoming, especially those needing aid. It's sudden for everyone, but cooperation will be needed by all to get through this.
A. Refugee Arrival. Many of the Orkilins will be wary and hide beneath their thick cloaks, but others will be a little more forthcoming, especially those needing aid. It's sudden for everyone, but cooperation will be needed from all to get through this.

🩹 First Aid. Not only are the evacuees emotionally drained, but many are injured from having to run from noctaere as well as all the jostling and chaos from fleeing. Any medical aid that can be provided will be appreciated.
⛺ Shelter. The Orkilins are wary going beyond the canyons of the Outer Range, preferring the desert area. Nothing will convince them, not even the threat of hostile monsters, so tents and other temporary housing will need to be built. Using dreamotion to convert the sand and clay into homes will be a favored method.
🐍 Disturbed Beasts. Aroused by the sudden activity, as well as being displaced by the sandworms coming and going, some of the native Wasteland creatures such as the giant sand scorpions and large snakes appear. Harpies can also be found circling around. Fend them off and help create barricades to keep them all at bay.
B. Pot Luck. While the Orkilins will have brought some rations, it won't be enough to feed everyone, especially as more start to arrive. Fortunately there are a lot of Dreamers and fae who like to cook and are ready to pitch in for a large potluck style meal to feed both evacuees and volunteers. The Orkilins prefer dryer, spicier foods, but some types of soups could also work along with tart fruits.

🌵 Spindly Food. There are some cactus like creatures called the Choya and cactuars that have the right kind of fruit that the Orikilin will surely enjoy. However, they both have their challenges. Choya will explode upon death so they must be killed carefully so as not to ruin the, uh. Meat. The cactuars will have their fruits on their heads, which could feasibly be harvested without killing them. However, the cactuar are fast and will fire off their thousands of needles with no mercy. Perhaps making a trap of some kind could help harvest their fruits.
🐗 Wild Game Hunting. Meat will be in high demand, and fortunately there's plenty of options around the canyon. Some may want to go back inside towards the plains to find more game, but there is a large pack of wild boar that would prove fruitful. Especially since they're as big as a house.
👨🍳On the Menu. The actual cooking is a bit of a challenge itself to the point it's almost like a game—quickly preparing the ingredients, cooking, plating, serving, and some with special requests. Not to mention dealing with the desert sand and keeping critters away.
C. Crystaltei. The Crystaltei have come down from the giant crystal to help everyone by charging themselves up with dreamotion so they can go to the city, but they have been feeling a little restless and, as a result, unruly lately. Help balance them out through positive dreamotion:

✨ The green sprite is feeling a little jealous of the other Crystaltei and the attention they are getting. Show it a little bit of attention and appreciation, such as giving small gifts or giving it a cute ribbon to…wear?
🐬 The pink liopleurodon is feeling sad and needs some cheering up. Maybe a little bit of playtime or snacks will do the trick? A joke might work!
🐦 The orange phoenix has been bullying the other crystaltei, so it needs some tough love to set it straight—or hugs. Lots of hugs.
🦄 The black kirin has been seen wallowing in the pits of its own despair, and has hidden itself away in the bushes, and will need coaxing out with special marshmallow puffs infused with hope.
🦀 The blue crab snaps its pincers at anyone it deems untrustworthy—which is basically everyone at the moment, including some of the other Crystaltei, and who can blame him? Its shell is cracked! Help mend it with dreamotion to earn its trust.
🐳 The purple whale is throwing a temper tantrum and will need to be calmed down. Songs, gentle words, and a smile will probably go a long way!
🐲The yellow dragon is feeling a little anxious. With a partner, put on a show of bravery against a "villain" and encourage it to join and help vanquish the terrifying enemy!

E. Pink Water Fountain. Although the water fountain is fixed, the water is now a bright pink and bubbly like a carbonated drink. It has a sweet, bubblegum taste to it, too, but…why would anyone want to drink it?

🧼 Purification. Turns out the water is actually filled to the brim with pure dreamotion and makes for an excellent cleanser and purifier for all things nightmare. Use it on the nightmare blobs and they will turn pink and try to purify other blobs by absorbing them. They will start turning black after taking in a few, so they will need another dousing to continue. People who have been affected by the nightmare blobs can also be "cured" by spraying them a bit with the water. Drinking it will leave anyone feeling "bubbly" and energetic.
🍾 Remedy. Many are seeing this as an effective remedy and will be quickly bottling it up while they can. While some of it is for future profit, many are also wanting to send some to Orkili to help with the effort. The more water bottled, the better!
spindly food
Oh right. He should probably help, shouldn't he?
Having a dragon has been handy right about now. Leo's been using Festus for air support and guard duty a lot, but riding the lion sized dragon to look for food has been helpful too. It's on the back of his dragon that he spots Vash running for cover, and once he points it out to Festus, the dragon turns back, dropping down low and blowing flames in the path of the cactuars. It stops them in their tracks, but it doesn't solve the food problem, but that's one step at a time. Now that the hoard isn't after him, Leo directs Festus to where Vash was hiding, landing nearby. He slides off the dragon's back, then peaks around for the other male in question.]
You okay, dude?
no subject
He looks over at Leo when he peeks around, his gaze flicking up to Festus and back with a vague air of worry before it's gone as quickly as it was there. ]
Hey uh... thanks. Sorry. Kind of got in over my head.
[ He laughs, peeking back where the cactuar had been before before he flicks a conspiratorial glance back to the boy. It's not obvious at first, but perhaps when Vash moves Leo might catch sight of a small canvas bag hidden beneath his coat that looks awful heavy. ]

We still need to figure out a way to get the food, though. Any ideas? [Because he's dumb and oblivious, but fortunately, someone pays attention, and Festus' teeth whirl as he nudges Leo's side.]
--- Or maybe not?
