Customer Service

It’s entirely possible that Gen is busy and so Senku is the one behind the counter. He’s fussing with something and he glances up when someone comes in.

“Welcome to Creamistry.” He murmurs a little bit. He washes his hands and towels them off.

He’s in the middle of making little animals out of sugar.

Senku comes to the counter. “What can I get for you?”

Challenge

Perhaps instead they’re interested in answering the ad that Senku put up on the board.

He gets a devious grin. “You want to help me figure out my challenge? By all means.”

Senku has a knack for looking downright evil.

“You have a preference for flavour, or do you want me to decide?”

Such was the danger inherent in these kinds of challenges in such a place, alas.

"If you do, I'll be first in line to try it!" She'll even properly pay for it!

Kaoru happily chows down on the desserts. "All of this is really tasty! Did you come up with the recipes yourself?"

"I'll have it ready for next month." Senku promises. He doesn't need payment, this is just for fun really.

"I did, actually. I'm glad you like it."

"Oh, wow. Are you some kind of ice cream genius?" She pulls over the milkshake as she talks. "I can't even imagine coming up with all this...and it changes every month?"

"Well I've never been called that before." Senku comments with a chuckle. A genius, yes, specifically for ice cream? No.

"It does. I asked people what they wanted for this month and they let me know."

[queenofminiskirts]

"Well, I can't think of anyone who deserves the title more!" She swirls the straw in the milkshake with a smile, "and I lived with a certified genius so I know my stuff!" She paused for a moment before pouting. "Though Minamoto's never made us this much ice cream before."

She says that and it sounds whiny but she's also...very fond of Minamoto.

"I found over time, most of my projects started with food. Not only is it incentive, but it can be very helpful in making things I needed as components of my various projects."

He does not even deny the fact that he bribes people with food. Of course he did. It's effective.

"Well, food is pretty great incentive...but what projects does it help with?" Is it...more food projects?

Surprisingly, it wasn't. He chuckled. "For example, I made cotton candy to come up with a proper working model of a machine that I would use to make electric wiring."

There is the long pause of someone who can't even begin to understand how someone gets from that point A to point B. Is that....is that how wires are made?

"That...sounds really amazing." Because it does. But also, "I didn't know you could make wires like that."

In the broadest, most abstract ways it could be done.

"Yes, it worked out that way." Senku nodded. "We needed it to make a phone and a radio signal." He smiled. He'd done a lot of things.

"...is there a reason you didn't just go to the store?"

She doesn't want to be rude but.......why? That seems like a lot of work for a radio and a phone.

Senku chuckles a little bit at that. "Sorry. Got ahead of myself. There were no stores."

[queenofminiskirts]

"...okay." Then she smiles a little while tilting her head, "I feel like you're just waiting for me to ask so I'll ask: why were there no stores?"

"Not especially, but I don't mind. Civilization fell when all of humanity was petrified and taken out of the equation and we haven't gotten back to mass consumerism yet. Anything I want, I have to make it myself."

Senku is fortunate, as he can make just about anything.

"...there's so much I want to ask about that, that I don't even know where to start."

No, really. That's a lot!

"Wait. So besides the wires you had to make everything else to make the phone too?"

"That's right." Senku agrees with a bit of a nod.

"It's not just ice cream I can make."
