Customer Service

It’s entirely possible that Gen is busy and so Senku is the one behind the counter. He’s fussing with something and he glances up when someone comes in.

“Welcome to Creamistry.” He murmurs a little bit. He washes his hands and towels them off.

He’s in the middle of making little animals out of sugar.

Senku comes to the counter. “What can I get for you?”

Challenge

Perhaps instead they’re interested in answering the ad that Senku put up on the board.

He gets a devious grin. “You want to help me figure out my challenge? By all means.”

Senku has a knack for looking downright evil.

“You have a preference for flavour, or do you want me to decide?”

"Hmmmm..." Senku considers that question. He's not much for ice cream himself, he's just having fun making it.

"If you want something strange, but unexpectedly works, the curry I made is pretty good, but my partner's favourite was cinnamon roll this month."

"Is that so? Curry I am familiar with, but I haven't had cinnamon rolls before." Zhongli nods as he decides. "If you recommend them, then I'll have one of each, if I may."

Why settle for just one when he could try both?

"Not a problem." Senku says as he nods and grabs his scoop. He'll grab two bowls too, because they don't mix very well, that he knows.

He gets a scoop of curry in, it's a a light yellow colour, and cinnamon bun is a scoop that looks white and has a cinnamon swirl. He adds two spoons and brings it back.

"Here you go. If you don't like them, I won't be insulted and you don't have to finish them."

Zhongli waits patiently as Senku scoops the ice cream, admiring the other ice cream flavours, the shop decor, amidst other things. It's a nice little shop, one that offers a welcoming, positive vibe. He finds it quaint and pleasant.

When the scoops are ready, Zhongli nods his thanks, but doesn't go to try it yet. Instead, he spends some time simply studying them.

"I see... so, you've managed to infuse the desired flavours into this frozen treat? Quite ingenious... especially with the curry-flavoured one. This will surely enable a customer to enjoy curry on a hot summer's day. I must ask, what inspired you to create such treats?"

"Ice cream in general comes from my partner. He has a massive sweet tooth, and so making treats for him, especially cola which is my specialty, is something that makes him happy and gives me something to do. These particular flavours came from a poll I put up, asking for people what flavours they would like to see." Senku smiles.

"I still have a suggestion box if you're interested in giving me a challenge."

"I see. Combining your partner's love of sweets with your cooking prowess is truly a match made well together. I will be sure to offer what suggestions I think could be beneficial before I leave." He nods to Senku, before turning to the ice cream. Picking up a spoon, he decided to take a bite of the curry flavour first.

He takes a moment, chewing the treat and savouring the flavour, before humming in contemplation.

"Fascinating... as I suspected, the cool sweetness of the cream marries well with the bold spices of the curry. An unusual combination, but one that marries well together. This is indeed a rather unique treat, my friend."

He chuckles lightly at that. "We work very well together." In every way possible, even though on paper they should be polar opposites.

"It was a bit of a challenge to avoid the bitterness that curry can bring, but I managed to make it into a sauce and syrup before adding it to the ice cream base." Senku is very proud of his accomplishment.

"It might only be fun as a novelty, but I do enjoy the puzzle."

"Turning it into a sauce and syrup? I see... yes, that would work indeed. How unique... you should be proud of this accomplishment."

It's high praise, coming from Zhongli. He nods and takes another bite of the curry ice cream. "Yes, even if it is merely a novelty, it is one that should be sampled at least once. It is surely a treat quite unlike anything I've had before."

"Thank you." Senku is polite enough barely to know that's the correct response to praise, and he is proud of it - even though it's just ice cream, and he's made far more impressive things. However, this was made specifically to please other people.

"I was one of the stranger requests I had gotten, but I think it turned out well. The other was the onion and garlic request. I took a similar tactic with that one in the end."

Even if this is just ice cream, Zhongli understands the skill and passion that goes into making even the simplest of foods. The fact that Senku here has even managed to make something palatable is just extra reason to be proud.

"I see. Perhaps I will try that one next. As for this cinnamon bun flavour..." He takes a moment to take a scoop, and like the curry flavour, he takes a bite and a moment to savour it.

"The sweetness of the cinnamon is not only quite pleasing in this form, but also acts as a lovely counter to the boldness of the curry ice cream. Indeed, both do manage to compliment one another quite well. If I hadn't been impressed before, I certainly would be now."

"I'm glad. My partner has a very discerning palate, so I trust his judgment. It's good to know that trust is not misplaced." Senku responds. "I'll be sure to compliment him, his ears are probably already burning."

He doesn't think Gen needs the ego stroke, but he might let him have it just to keep things interesting.

"If you think of something you'd like to see here, I'm more than happy to give it a shot."

"Well, be sure to pass my compliments onto your partner. The two of you make quite the pair." Zhongli says with a nod. Yes, he can definitely offer his blessings to this place. He may not be in Liyue to offer a proper godly blessing, but he definitely thinks highly of the place.

"Hmm... would it be too out of the ordinary to request osmanthus as a flavour?"

"Osmanthus! Now that's an interesting prospect." Senku smiles as he considers that for a moment. He's pretty sure Gen would be on board with it. It's not a flavour either of them are too familiar with.

"It should be possible, I'll see about getting my hands on some." He knows of the plants and that they're edible, but it's not a flavour he's eaten much.

"Wonderful. Then I will be sure to keep an eye out for it when it debuts." Zhongli says cheerfully. Knowing well the flavour of osmanthus in teas, wine, and syrup, he's curious to see what Senku here has in store for his unique request.

"Well, I do not wish to take up too much of your time. But I am sure that if all of your food is of this quality, you will certainly succeed in your business venture." And coming from the old God of Commerce, that's high praise indeed. But not that anyone needs to know that little tidbit.

"Thank you for your kind words. Feel free to visit anytime." Senku offered in return, letting Zhongli excuse himself at his leisure.

He has more work on the sugar animals to do, so he will keep himself busy.
