It’s entirely possible that Gen is busy and so Senku is the one behind the counter. He’s fussing with something and he glances up when someone comes in.

“Welcome to Creamistry.” He murmurs a little bit. He washes his hands and towels them off.

He’s in the middle of making little animals out of sugar.

Senku comes to the counter. “What can I get for you?”

Challenge

Perhaps instead they’re interested in answering the ad that Senku put up on the board.

He gets a devious grin. “You want to help me figure out my challenge? By all means.”

Senku has a knack for looking downright evil.

“You have a preference for flavour, or do you want me to decide?”

[ Someone might’ve suggested that Ienzo not bury himself in research and actually get out some. Shocking. ]

[ But, a store that might sell some of his childhood favorite treats - and it uses a science pun? He’s going to walk right on in and peer up at the menu. ]

Ah, yes, um. One moment.

[ Very quietly, to himself; ] No sea salt?

[ Senku's just crafting sugar animals, as part of his prize idea for his challenge, and he happens to hear that. ]

I do have sea salt. Well some approximation of it, it was an attempt. It's the blue one in the case.

[ He was told salty, sweet and blue. Is it the same? Probably not. ]

Oh! [ He lights up with pleased surprise. And it was right under his nose! ] Thank you. I’d like a scoop of that, please.

… Oh! We’ve met before, haven’t we?

Excellent. Cone or bowl?

[ Senku tilts his head as though he's thinking. ]

Ah yes, we have. Quite a long time ago now, maybe six months or so.

A bowl, please. Probably less messy.

I have a particularly good memory. [ Said shyly; it’s not a boast. It’s better than Even’s, though he knew not to say so in front of him. He got testy. ]

Senku, right? It’s good seeing you doing well.

That's right. [ He grabs a bowl and a scoop and gets to it. ]

As do I. [ It's a party trick at best. ]

It's good to see you too. [ This is far more stilted. He's not great at small talk. That's why Gen's usually here. ]

Forgive me if I misjudged, but … you seemed to be some discipline of scientist or researcher. Is that correct?

[ Ienzo either didn’t notice or mind the slightly stilted conversation - frankly, it reminded him of home, at least with Ansem and Even. None of them were great at small talk - all of them excelled at expounding on their pet project. ]

No, you're correct.

[ Senku forms a very nice, spherical ball and scoops it into the bowl. ]

Food science is still science. I made all of these recipes myself from scratch through experimentation.

[ That does answer his next question. Ienzo looked thoughtful. ]

Interesting. I’d agree it’s science - I just didn’t consider what sorts of challenges I’d run into in that field. What problems I’d solve.

[ His tone is hopeful - please, he’s asking, tell him what things he’s run into! Ienzo was curious, not judgmental. ]

Considering I've asked for people flavours and suggestions, I got some strange ones. The sea salt is unfamiliar too me, but not the strangest.

[ He adds a little spoon and offers it to Ienzo. ]

The curry flavour came out pretty good, the garlic and onion one is a bit strange, but still quite tasty.
