And these ones want... what, exactly?
[He looks at one that is wooshing around him while squeeling in excitement.]

[She's trying hard not to make any inferences about what that suggests.]
The pink ones crave romance, and the white ones...
[...she actually wasn't sure what the white ones craved. The only one she'd really dealt with had been the one Nanashi found last year, and it clearly hadn't liked her. Why would it have liked him and not her?]
... Happiness, I suppose? Something like that, I can't be certain.

He's good at putting up a good front for the sake of others, but he wouldn't say he's a person that exactly radiates happiness wherever he goes. More often than not he is prone to a feeling of melancholy.]
I'm not sure what they think I can do for them then.
[He gives one of the little creatures a sceptical look, as if he could somehow find the awnser if he stared at it long enough.]
I'm not exactly prone to great bouts of joy, not even when I am happy so I am sure they'd be able to find someone more to their taste if they kept looking instead.

[She rolls her eyes and glances at one of them, drifting happily nearby.]
I'm sort of tempted to start using them for target practice.

[He gently shoos one away when it get's too close to him.]</small< I can understand the frustration, they do not seem to understand how in the way they are being.

[She's not entirely sure what changed.]
no subject
[Or maybe she'd changed somewhat since last year?]

[And my goodness but she sounds butter when she says that.]
It was also easier to appease the little nuisances. A good spar with a skilled partner did the trick with the red ones, unlike these things.
[... And now she's dwelling on Rokurou's absence, and the debt she was never able to repay. Ah, wonderful. Even as she thinks it, some of the little white creatures floating around them seem to drift away from her with quiet chirps of dismay- apparently this is the wrong energy for their tastes. She huffs in frustration and glares at one of them.]

[It was just a thought anyways.]
I can see how that would be easier to solve. Sparring is much more straightforward in that way.
[And he'd always been good at that. He'd used to be good at social interactions as well, he still was in some ways, but it had no longer come quite as naturaly to him as it had before Angband and all that came after it.]

[Boy, the bitter sure happened there. She tries again with a more neutral, light tone.]
But I can't imagine why they think I'm a good source. It's almost funny.
[See? See how amused she is? How amused and totally not bothered?]
