[ As Vanitas is the very embodiment of negativity and negative emotions, or so he has always been up until he had become more than that, the idea of plants that react to said emotions is going to gain interest. So when Vanitas makes his way to the fields of flowers that have stems but no buds, it's definitely not with the intention of making a flower crown. Sorry, but that's still not entirely within his wheelhouse.
Instead he can be found, experimenting with different emotions and the blooms that they create. How easy is it to find him? Well just follow the trail of different flowers, all different colors. Shapes. Sizes.
In fact, Vanitas almost seems obsessed with this practice... ]

( Catching Fire )
Isn't it just a little cruel to be doing this?
[ Ironic that Vanitas should bring this up. Now he's not actively catching moths, but they do seem to like to meander his direction. One has even landed on his fingertips. His gold eyes give it a cursory glance before shooing it away. ]
Seems like a pretty crappy way to end the thing's life, just turning it into a coin and all.

[ Does it matter if it is hungry or something else? The creature is kind of creating a mess and the destruction that it could leave in the wake of that rampage is just... Not something that Vanitas wants to deal with. Either way, before anyone can find out the reason why, they have to stop the giant beast. ]
Come on you giant turkey, before I know you out.
[ Which Vanitas will make good on, Keyblade already out and ready to smack the cockatrice down. ]

[ Been a minute since I've done anything looking like an open log. If you want a custom starter, I'd be more than happy to throw one your way. If you want to plot, same thing - just contact me and let me know! Alternatively, throw something at me and I'll roll with what you give me. ]
catching fire
Hmmm, I dunno! Maybe catching them and keeping them as coins doesn't mean they're actually dead?
no subject
Still trapped as a coin though, Sora. There's no freedom.
no subject
Awww... When you say it like that it sounds really sad. I thought the coins were pretty.
no subject
[ Look, he doesn't want to ruin the experience for Sora? ]
no subject
[Sora has no idea but if has any guess he would guess... dreammotion.]
no subject
Maybe? There probably is after you find out why they turn into coins in the first place.
no subject
I don't want to hurt these little guys by trying, though. It's too bad you don't know how to speak to bugs.
cockblocked
Oh come on, you know it's never that easy.
[it's always got to be Some Sort of Ordeal with them...]
no subject
That giant bird is finally locking eyes onto them both. And then it screeches before charging. ]
Hope you're ready.
no subject
Always.
[he'll let the bird pass though, dodging out of the way easily. when it starts to pass by though, he'll try to slash at it with his Keyblade.]
no subject
Yes he doesBut this is not someone who turns down a fight either. Never has, really. So Vanitas moves away as well, casting some magic. Blizzard spell, to see if the bird will be frozen in place. ]
Not So Much A Crown
The blonde doesn't actually realize she's following Vanitas's trail until she finally gets close enough to spot him and comes to a stop alongside some of the flowers she was previously inspecting. Her eyes lift to linger on him with at first open and then more reserved surprise. In retrospect, it does make some sort of sense to find him here, but... ]
....
[ Pardon her, she's still waffling about whether or not to disturb him (and inadvertently lurking while she does so). ]
no subject
He turns to look at her, a path of various flowers between them. ]
If you're thinking I'm going to bite, I won't.
no subject
I wasn't worried about that.
[ There's the faintest hint of careful humor in her voice; she takes one step closer, as if to prove her point, but no more. These days... she remains careful around him, careful with him, though less in the way of someone afraid of violent repercussions and more in the way of someone who seeks to avoid intruding. Case in point; ]
You seemed busy, is all.
[ Very busy, if the number of blooms around them is any indication. ]
no subject
Maybe it looks that way right now. But Vanitas isn't doing this to make flower crowns. It's all about making something with his emotions other than Unversed.
Not that he'd say that. ]
I'm only passing the time.
no subject
Well... [ Then, after a beat's consideration, she admits softly, ] You've chosen a beautiful way to do it, I think.
[ Whether the flowers in question are actually pretty in the traditional sense is largely irrelevant; they're fascinating enough to her due to their uniqueness. The girl shifts in place a moment, as if hesitant to speak further, but, ]
Do you mind if I stay to admire them? Just-- for a little while.
Not So Much a Crown
What're you doing?
no subject
What does it look like?
no subject
[Obviously? But Roxas steps forward, more curious than judging. He kneels down to look at the flowers.]
Wow... You made all these?
[He sounds impressed!]
