[CLOSED] The Ice Queen Conundrum!
Who: Alastor and Eustace
Which: Log, Closed
Where: Orkili and later the Ice Queen's dreamscape
What: The Dynamic Detective Duo are off on another exciting adventure to discover just what has been happening with the Ice Queen! Will they be successful or will the Ice Queen's issues remain unresolved? Tune in to find out!
Warnings: Standard Alastor warning, will add more if needed.
Alastor had spent the better part of two days in Orkili assisting with the Sweepies. Or, more accurately, helping the ones who made the Sweepies figure out a way to get the magical robots to leave him alone. His natural radio waves seemed to have triggered a glitch in their programming that had needed to be sorted out.
Not that Alastor had minded the visit. Reverein was his home but Orkili had a special place in his dead heart. That and it was quite the ego boost to be recognized and greeted with friendly respect considering his reputation there. (Keeping a nightmare-powered reactor from exploding long enough for the cavalry to arrive and help fix the problem had that sort of effect, he supposed.)
He stretched as he left the workshop. Being seven feet tall meant some issues with average human-sized places and furniture being too small, leading to awkward positions and hunching in places. The stretch made his bright red and tall self all the easier to spot in the crowd.

As he was heading towards the location, however, he spotted Alastor and after a moment called out to him.
"Alastor."
no subject
Alastor strode over, his hands neatly folded behind his back, and leaned towards the man.
Was he curious as to what Eustace was up to? Certainly! But it wouldn't do to just jump right into that subject without getting the basic social niceties out of the way first!
no subject
"She's well. And you? What brings you down here?"
Meanwhile, Eustace had the opportunity to ask the question.
no subject
It had given him quite a start when that first Sweepie had rammed into his ankle and backed up to do it again.
"Fortunately that issue's finally been resolved so the Sweepies and I can ignore each other in peace." He tilted his head to one side. "And what brings you wandering so far from home?"
no subject
"I didn't consider signals could affect them...but I'm glad you could it resolved."
Because that certainly does sound like it would an annoyance, especially with how those devices, while interesting and could be useful in concept, have been more troublesome as they are. But at the question, Eustace glances further down the road towards the building where the Ice Queen has been quarantined.
"I heard about the situation regarding the Ice Queen and decided to come by to take a look."
no subject
His ears pricked at Eustace's business. He was a radio host. He got paid to be nosy.
"Mind if I tag along?"
no subject
Eustace stared at him for a moment as if contemplating before closing his eyes briefly and nodding his head before stepping back forward.
"Sure."
no subject
He knew what loneliness could do to a person. He knew it intimately.
no subject
He looked ahead towards the approaching building where the Ice Queen was still quarantined.
"Whether we manage to wake her up or not, hopefully we can find more clues."
no subject
He certainly knew that feeling too well.
no subject
But that will have to be something the Orkilins will need to do. They can only support so much.
And now they've arrived at the building, Eustace opening the door for them both.
Holy shit, unexpected renovations made me die this month
Good thing he'd been in Reverein for so long that it'd become automatic.
For the moment, Alastor kept quiet, periodically giving nods to anyone who might do the same to greet him. (Always a thrill! Never got old!)
