Najaran was excited about her new idea and was looking for Azula. Of course, it was taking her a long time to find her friend. Largely because she kept getting lost. Badly lost.
And of course, by this point, she was also hungry again...

But today, it seemed, she was just far enough out to stumble onto a fellow (less deliberate) wanderer, because winds up nearly running into Najaran as the latter emerges from the foliage in front of her.
Her initial response is to raise her hands in a bending stance, in case of an attack- a habit that still hasn't left her, despite the relative peace of this place- but then she sees who it is.
"...What are you doing out here?"
no subject
Okay so maybe she did.

And she said this was her not getting lost?
"...I'm in the middle of-"
Oh, nevermind.
"What do you want?"

Someone really needs to put all the words in the sentence. But her bouncing cheer did not at all go with the words she actually did say.
no subject
Okay. She's going to just. Take a moment. Try to parse that sentence. Aaaand... no. No, that doesn't-
No.
"... Come again?"

"... Firebending isn't magic," she insists, almost reflexively.
But-
Well. What could it hurt? She'd seen for herself how resilient Najaran's little... allies... could be.

She settles into a relaxed bending stance, then raises an eyebrow.
"Are you sure you still want me to try?"
no subject
Naja stood nearby, happily.

Best to start with something light, just to be safe. Unless it goes wrong. Unless she misjudges and seriously injures it. Or doesn't give it enough power to actually help.
Rrgh. Infuriating. She tries to ignore the intrusive thoughts. Having to worry about hurting people is so distracting. Finally, she just extends her arm and a small, rapid burst of electricity erupts from her fingertips, a far cry from the fully charged bolts she would use in an actual fight.

He caught the electricity in the gem and closed the cloak around the gem again. "That was yummy but... I think that was a fire spell, meow."
"Oh No!" Najaran cried. "I forgot!" She ran forward and grabbed Cait Sith, holding him aimed up at the sky as he released the electricity out ten fold to the sky.
"That's hot alright! MEOOOOOOWWWWWW" Cait Sith said, dizzy.
Najaran cradled him in her arms. "I... forgot he hates spicy spells...."

"...he can't handle fire magic and you asked a firebender for help?"

It was the kind of thing Goligan or her Master usually reminded her about...
