Who: Group for the bear hunt

What: Time to take down a bear—or attempt to, anyway
Warnings: Violence, potential gore
A group has set out into the forests to try and take care of the bear-turned-noctaere listed on the Dream Board. While they won't be the first to tackle it, they are determined to be the last. However, it's not only the bear they have to deal with, but also the unfortunate smaller creatures that have been affected by the nightmare energy oozing off the bear. Thus the group will have the following to contend with:
» Small creatures. Although not as dangerous, smaller animals such as rabbits, birds, foxes, snakes, and all other kinds of small fae have been affected by the bear's nightmare energy and have either begun to turn into a noctaere or have fully become one. Their behavior is erratic, overly hostile, and will attack in hunger for more dreamotion energy. While the only recourse for some is to be killed, others can be saved. Unlike sentient beings like humans where it's most effective to dive into the nightmare fueling the nightmare energy, purifying an animal that has become a noctaere will require a direct channeling of one's dreamotion energy, directing as much calm and positive thought to the animal.
» The Bear. The bear is a beast that has become so twisted and corrupted its original form is unrecognizable. Fur a tar black with glowing green lines, black smoke rising off its back, eyes glowing green. It tears through the forest with disregard to anything, knocking over trees and killing anything in its path. Its claws and fangs are the most dangerous, and if one isn't careful and is struck, the nightmare energy will start to spread unless resisted or treated. While no one will be immediately changed, it will be a strong enough effect for the victim to start seeing visions of their worst nightmares and be gripped with an intense feeling of hatred and fear. If left untreated or if one suffers extreme or a number of injuries, then the risk of turning into a noctaere is higher.
For those who wish to try and purify it, they will need to channel a great amount and it will have some effect on the bear, to the point that there is credible progress. However, the nightmare energy consuming it is too great for them to deal with as they are now and it will fight back with desperation. The purification will restore its sight, allowing it to see and fight with even more strength and precision than before.
» Aftermath. Although a valiant effort, the bear will ultimately overwhelm the group and escape, fleeing towards the outer Wildlands and presumably to the Wasteland. Although unable to kill the bear, they at least managed to drive it out. Perhaps a part of its purified self gave it enough reason to run away for safety, or perhaps it's a more calculated move. Who knows? There are more pressing matters, such as finishing clearing up the mess to stop the spread of nightmare energy left by the bear and to take care of any injured.

Mod Note: After some deliberation, rather than restrict players to designated teams, we'll let everyone have the option of making their own toplevels to keep things more open and allow everyone have a better chance to thread with each other. Multiple attacks on the bear can happen that will lead to its weakening and eventual escape. As a result of the poll, the bear will remain a noctaere and live, but since there were a lot in favor of "purified and lives," attempts to purify will be significant and this will be reflected again in the future! [Had he not immediately flipped onto his back and lashed out with a few Breaker goblin kicks, his face would have been clawed open. He rolls to one side and picks up his saber.]

[Well there goes any chance of strategy, but really these two probably are better off without. Rokurou takes to the front, swinging his blade to release a wave of fire to catch its attention before using his other to block a large claw.]

[Rokurou just grins as he feels his blades strain under the force of the bear's claws, forced to jump back to keep some distance as he continues to block and parry, occasionally executing a few artes to help defend himself.]

[Fighting this bear reminds him of all of his friends piling on one man and having similar trouble. Just a wall of meat.
He uses his saber to guard against a claw swipe. Then he figures why not try this. Being agile enough, he stabs the bear with his saber, uses it as a stepping point to climb up its shoulders and try using punches up close to its head.]
