There's a strange sort of relief as the tension immolates, and he finds himself defenseless against it. Not that he's defending himself all that much around Thoma, of course. He hasn't for awhile now, artificial defensivenes from before notwithstanding. Dreamscape-enforced emotions don't count, even if he has to at least give them credit for getting them to this point.
