01 - [open log]
Who: McGillis Fareed & YOU.
Which: Open Log
Where: Around the Residential Area and the forest.
What: A few open prompts regarding adjusting to daily life in Songerein as well as trying (and largely failing) to get the hang of that dreamotion energy.
Warnings: Blood in prompt I. Otherwise none so far.
I. to wash away the sin
[ Sometimes in the early morning McGillis can be found walking to the well, wishing very intently that washing machines were a thing here. Hopefully sometime soon they'll figure out how to make something like it with dreamotion energy... but for now, he's carrying a bucket of bloody rags in what feels like it's going to become a morning ritual. By his side, a giant beetle is happily trotting along. McGillis occasionally tosses it a berry from his pocket.
At the well, he pulls up water to fill his bucket and wash out the rags like a laundry maiden of old. While he's not verbally complaining about it, he does look pretty displeased. And man, all that blood is nasty. ]
II. to eat the fruit of knowledge
[ McGillis is no stranger to having to find his own food, but it's always been in an urban environment where stealing is easy and trashcans are abundant. Foraging for fruit is still pretty new to him. It is, in a lot of ways, also better. It's a calm activity, without the watchful mistrusting eyes of people around following his every move. Freshly picked fruit isn't rotten either; there is no disgust factor.
It also feels more tedious though. And McGillis is realizing that while he knows a lot about birds, he does not know nearly enough about say... mushrooms. Are these edible? Find him in the forest staring down for a good five minutes before deciding not to risk it. ]
We should pool our knowledge and write a guide for this, or someone will wind up seriously getting ill...
III. to be attuned to one's emotions
[ Walking by riverside you might come across a spot in which the air feels notably a little cooler than elsewhere - and at the epicenter of that spot is McGillis, sitting crosslegged on the floor and seeming like he's maybe meditating or something..??
Dreamotion energy is not easy when being in tune with your feelings is something you have hated profusely all of your life. McGillis could easily go on forever acknowledging only one single emotion: anger. Unfortunately this has turned out to be incredibly unhelpful for the practice of his new and incredibly relevant powers. He'd like to get to the point of using them for home improvement sometime soon.
As he strains his mind, something in front of him does start glowing and forming, at least occasionally, but it falls apart just as quickly. Every time it does, unnoticed by McGillis, a daisy in the near vicinity wilts. Anger, he knows how to feel. Anger turns into power. It's just not the power he wants right now.
He is not used to being bad at something. ]

She is always interested in new anomolies when it comes to the dreams of this world. So while she has yet to experience it herself, she wants to know more. It may lead to more development of the abilities of this world. ]
I have not. Not yet, at least. But from your question, I am guessing that you do experience such a thing.
[ Susato then looks at him with pity. ]
Do you dream of bloodshed? Have you fought in battles?

[ It is true but it's such a favorable way to spin this too, without going too deep into the dreams he is actually having. This world is dead set on laying his best guarded secrets out into the open and McGillis is already fed up with it. ]
My dreams tend to be influenced by the various events I've experienced in my life and they do get rather intense sometimes.
[ A very nice way of saying he has nightmares, really. ]
When I wake, I find my bedroom has transformed to match the atmosphere of any particularly strong dreams I've had the night before. If the dream is violent, I'll wake to a puddle of blood on the floor. It's quite inconvenient.

It's a terrifying thought. She isn't sure how he puts up with it. Especially since his dreams are acting as a constant reminder for it. ]
I'm sorry to hear that. It must be awful.
[ She feels terrible for even thinking this man may be up to something suspicious. ]
...Baking soda usually helps with blood stains. That or lemon juice.

Thank you, I will keep that in mind.
[ The smile he offers is small and looks sincere. ]
My dreams normally don't bother me once I wake, but in a place like this I might need to think about how to dream of softer things as to not disturb the environment. Life is full of new challenges.

[ Susato reaches into one of her sleeves, pulling out a small book that seemed rather full of various contents due to how thick it is. She flips through the pages with ease as if she knew the book inside and out. It could be said that she did know the book well. She's has owned it for as long as she can remember. It has certainly helped her in all sorts of situations. ]
Ah. There we go. The term is called lucid dreaming. Maybe you will be able to change the outcome of your nightmares and stop the blood from appearing!
