Entry 001

Who: Kazuma Asogi and Anyone!
Which: Open. Brackets prefer, ok with prose.
Where: Whatever prompts take us.
What: Catch-all for October

[A - Communal Garden]
Kazuma never thought he'd have a green thumb until his experience in the Realm of Stories revealed he actually liked taking care of plants. So when he heard about the communal garden, he of course wanted to check it out.

There were some empty patches when he visits, others already in use. He probably should have brought something to plant as well, something to keep in mind for next time. The garden was rather lively with it's magical frogs and fish too. It's honestly a nice setup, even if he finds the singing a bit overdone. There are some overgrowth and weeds that were missed here and there and, without thinking, Kazuma starts to work on removing them.

If he's not doing that, he's tending to what's already been planted or helping others plant things into the soil bed.

[B - The Cluckening]
". . ."

What in hellspawn thought to create giant chickens? Giant by chicken standards at least. Kazuma had found a few wandering around his treehouse this morning, probably to pick at the grubs. There's even a rooster, making it's cock-a-doodle morning call and blocking Kazuma from leaving. Unlike the docile chickens, the rooster proved to be one aggressive beast. He dodges a swipe from it's claws that dig into the bark of the treehouse as he manages to pass through the door.

"Tch. Stupid bird!" This is not how you convince someone to eat chicken. The rooster doesn't seem done with him though, and puffs himself up in a threatening display. Not wanting to have these birds lingering around his home, he draws his blades, stands his ground and they enter a stare down. Who will make the first move?

Depends. [He's flipping the break over after giving it enough time to brown on one side, arms rested just across his knees.] Some make it weaker to sell easier. Dilute it with fruit syrups and the like to help make it sweeter and taste less like gasoline.

Then again the honey and mash I make helps a little with that. [Learned how to make it good and strong back in the Realm. Just... carried on here.] Need it strong for myself.

I don't make it for the taste, obviously. [His tone was a little dry, that little kick of humor in it.

There was a soft huff, more amused than anything. Intrusive question or not, didn't much mind it apparently.]
No, never had the time.
steadypulse: (With that time and energy there)

[Toast was slid out on to another plate he had, cast iron set aside to finally be allowed to cool.] I can make it taste good, at least. Now that I got a recipe down.

[He fished up a jar or sparkling blue honey, popping the lid off and slowly trickled it out over the toast in some back and fourth movement.] Might've been told that once or twice- job and the people there came first.

Now it's the mission.

steadypulse: (Really I didn't know what else to do)

That I acted like a dad, or at least the soldiers and other folks under me that were younger felt so. Kind of a running joke with some of them. [Shoulders shrugged, screwing the lid back on to the honey jar and setting it away so he could take a bite of toast. Buttery and sweet. Allowing some brief indulgence of his sweet tooth.] Not in the cards for me to have one.

Wasn't a lack of wanting. [He had regrets, but at least his ex had managed to go off and have a happy family. Vincent had deserved that much, better life than stuck with everything that came with Overwatch and- well, him.

His head tipped.]

Still, you're welcome. Sandwich treating you well?
steadypulse: (But hey I still did something today)

[There was a slight twitch at the corner of his mouth.] Greasy breakfast foods are strangely one of the best hangover cures. That and keeping yourself hydrated.

[Catching a bit of honey before it got too into his beard with a thumb, sucking that clean briefly.] You're fine, by the way. [Had to say it.]
steadypulse: (You can't forget about that part)

[Completely fine and not at all embarrassed by anything, like the earlier questions. Totally believable.

At least 76 wasn't the type to press Kazuma on it, outside of the touch of reassurance. Or the ghost of a smirk in his expression.]
Heard of stranger myself, but I always leaned towards the ones that tasted good.
steadypulse: (But here we are)

I do, yeah. Want this second piece of toast so I can go ahead and make that to wrap up? [Honey toast, something else to help soak up any alcohol still hanging around the stomach. 76 may not treat himself right, but he wasn't going to stop doing it for someone else.

Already setting that plate on the log beside him, fishing around in his bag for what he needed. Cast iron back on the makeshift cooking grate over the fire with a bit of butter to get the melting started.]
Of course.

[Didn't hurt that the honey coating one side of the toast tasted very much of blueberries. Dream honey was going to be one thing he was going to keep harvesting while the bees didn't mind him there.

76 went through the same process, bacon and eggs with a bit of cheese. The toast just made it easier to pick up and eat. What more could someone with a hangover want when it came to food?]

I know what it's like to need either.
