What: Time snuck up on Dojima, and he realised it was nearly Nanako's birthday. Help.

1. Needing Advice

[People would find a new message from Dojima on October 2nd, early in the morning; though this time wasn't a dire warning, but an almost sheepishly written question. Though Nanako wouldn't be able to see it herself.]

I don't know if I should ask here but

I really don't have any ideas

What do you get an 8 year old girl as a present?

Also does anyone know how to make pancakes? She said she wanted that for supper...

[Someone save this idiot single father from himself, please.]

2. Happy Birthday Dear Nanako

[Well, an attempt was made, and Nanako was getting her Birthday Pancakes. They were... a decent attempt? Only a few came out burnt, though his shapes left something to be desired. But he did manage to mix in some berries too, which was new to him.]

Where did I put the forks...?

[He was setting up at the table, though the door to the house was open... mostly to air out the smoke, but if anyone wanted to wander in, they probably could with ease.]

[Eustace doesn't normally do much for birthdays, but he can make exception for Nanako. So after rounding up and cleaning up the fairy dog family, as well as a last second, "well maybe could be a gift" he makes his way over to their dwelling.

Of course, the pups will catch Nanako's scent fairly quickly when they get near, and she'll be hearing excited pups barking as they run over.]

[ Nanako had been outside already, playing near the treehouse where she was living with her dad, but the sound of the familiar barks has her head coming up in immediate recognition as she jumps up and spins to see where her new canine friends were. Spotting them running towards her, her face breaks into a bright smile and she waves excitedly when she sees Eustace with them. ]

Hi, Eustace! Hi, puppies! Are you playing today?

Sort of.

[The puppies are now at her and bounding up to press their little paws against her legs, clearly calling out, "Play with us, play with us!" Eustace cracks a small grin at the sight before he delivers the real message.]

I heard it was your birthday today, so... Thought you might enjoy seeing them.

[ She looks surprised by this statement - how did people know?? - but then she giggles in delight and starts trying to hug all the puppies begging for attention around her. ]

You came to see me for my birthday? Thank you!

It seemed fitting given the occasion.

...I also collected these, though I'm not sure if you'd find them useful or not. [He pulls out a small jar filled with small flowers, all recognizable from the pups' coats.] I had been told they might be useful for decorations and it seemed a waste to throw them away.

Ooooh!

[ She hops up to her feet again, being careful of the enthusiastic puppies still bounding around her legs. Her eyes brighten with delight as she takes in the flowers he offered. ]

These are from the puppies, right? Do you know what kind of flowers they are?

Not all of them. They seem to a few different ones, but I could recognize a few marigolds, asters, forget-me-nots, and other wildflowers. The rest may be unique to this world.

[ She buries her face in them for a moment to smell the pretty scents from all the blossoms. ]

They're so pretty! Wanna come inside? I can put them in water, then! Oh, and I have cookies! And some tea. Do you want some?

[...Ah...]
