[Ira had thought that he would be satisfied with the bookshops in the new theatre district. Really, the access to new books had been enough, even if his treehouse was starting to get a little crowded. The addition of a whole library, however, is almost mind-boggling.
It's not often that Ira's stoicism is dropped but he is honestly in awe of the structure, of the books, everything. He's going to spend days, weeks, even months in here. And he couldn't be happier.
Unlike the bookstore, which had Ira in a corner reading, he's currently just exploring. There's so many books he doesn't know where to start, and so he roves the shelves, trailing his hands over the feelings of the spines. He doesn't know where to even start.
Though he seems to be paused at a section of Fantasy novels at the moment, contemplating a few titles.]
This place is amazing.
B - Weeding
[Ira stares at a spot on the table. A spot that, at least when Ira had last looked at it, had a book there. And now was noticeably empty. Ira looks around, wondering if someone might have taken the book or if an overzealous Owl had taken it back to shelved but it's just him on this floor.
He doesn't think much of it, figuring he'll find it again when he hears the thump. Followed by a few more.
He glanced down a row of shelves and is almost beaned by several books whizzing by and watches as several others decide that this isn't the shelf for them and take off. An Owl soon rushes up in pursuit, but out of breath.]
I say! Catch those books if you can. Try not to damage them!
[Ira nods, and takes off after the books, an icy air forming around him.]
Um, you didn't happen to see some books go by, did you?

[Reading for pleasure isn't a pasttime of his. If he has to read a book, it's related to business. Or, more recently, for finding good recipes.]
And this just...came out of nowhere?
no subject
This is probably the grandest one I've seen yet.
no subject
[Sadly we can't always get what we want.]
Do the books do anything? Since everything else does something magical, I figured the books did the same.
no subject
Perhaps there's one to get beer to flow from the ground.
no subject
[Zhao gives the armored man a once over.]
You like a knight or something?
no subject
[His magic doesn't really work that way, but he can try. It's a dream world after all.
But he smiles in response to that.]
Not quite, but the comparison's been made before.
no subject
[Because no one sane wears a suit of armor for fun. It also means this guy is probably as strong as hell.]
no subject
Keyblade Master would be a more appropriate title.
[Though, he's humble enough not to bring it up unless asked.]
no subject
[Where has he heard that term before...or seen it? That's right!]
Oh, you must be from the same place Sora is. He's got that big ol' key weapon that I don't know how it does any damage other than bludgeoning.
But I guess whatever works, right?
no subject
[And maybe that involves a bit of bludgeoning. In a pinch.]
But yes, I think we are from the same world, if different parts of it.
[And times.]
no subject
And other than weapons, what else do they do? 'Cause they have to do more if they're shaped like a key, yeah?
no subject
I believe we are all from the same world, in the largest sense of the world. As Our world is divided into many smaller worlds. For example, I am from Daybreak Town, but Sora and the others come from other worlds.
As for the keyblade, it is typically used as a weapon both in melee, and to cast magic. But it can also be used to open and close locks of any kind.
no subject
So do they have be actual locks? Or could it be like mental ones?
no subject
[Hearts are very important after all. It's not good to mess with them.]
B
When he sees the commotion and the trickle of ice Sora can't help but find that way more interesting than reading books.]
Uh- Nope! But I'll help you find them!
[He's quick to suddenly activate a flash of Flowmotion as he slides up a bookcase and darts after the books!]
no subject
But he'll have to shove them aside for now, and he rushes to catch up to Sora.]
Just try to stop them from moving! And try not to damage them!
no subject
What?! Try not to damage them?! But how do we?!
[Whoops?! He's jumping back down on the ground and chasing after the flapping books! He tries to jump up and grab them out of the air.]
Argggh?!
no subject
Do you know the Stop spell?
[And to emphasize his point, he'll cast it on the book that Sora has in his hands.]
no subject
Uh- I used to! I can't use that spell anymore!
[He could use it in other games but not in Kingdom Hearts III for some reason!]
no subject
What spells do you know?
no subject
Stuff like this?!
[He blasts some ice magic at the book as well!]
It's mostly attack magic! Ice, fire, thunder? Stuff like that! That's it!
no subject
Try sticking with the Ice for now! Or guide them towards me and I'll Stop them!
no subject
[Sora is seemingly going to do both things? He sprints forward and runs up the side of a bookcase where three of those wayward books are trying to fly away through a window. He jumps high in the air and casts an explosion of ice magic at them which sends them scurrying back down towards Ira.]
no subject
See anymore?
no subject
Uh, I think there's one more? Maybe? Where did it go?! I swear I saw it flapping!
[One more wayward book to catch before it sneaks off!]
no subject
I'll check around on this side if you want to take the other side. It can't have gone far.
no subject
[Sora will sprint off to the other side! Trying to make quick work of this.]
no subject
Ira moves to a more open area, scanning for the book.]
Sora! There!
[And he points, his arm following the book.]
no subject
[Sora is quick like lightning. He speeds through the library with another spark of flowmotion (sorry bookshelves) and hops up to aim his keyblade with another ice spell.]
Incoming!
[A blast of ice at the book!]
no subject
There's a loud flutter of pages as Ira's Stop spell connects at the same time as the blizzard.]
Sora, are you alright?
[They probably didn't do the book any favours]
no subject
Yeah! I'm okay!
[He's standing on top of a bookcase.......??]
Was that the last one?
no subject
[Ira moves to retrieve the book and return it to the pile. The books do look a little scuffed. There's a low hoot from the owl who requested help as he goes through them.]
You might want to get down from there.
no subject
[Sora quickly hangs his head and then jumps down from the shelf. His keyblade vanishes.]
Are the books okay? They look a little beat up.
no subject
[Though, if he had some sort of restoration spell, that would be helpful.
The Owl hoots again.]
I suppose I did ask for your help, but you could have been a little gentler.
no subject
Erm. Sorry! I guess I did get a little carried away.
[He feels bad, is he going to get detention or extra work for this? But he got all the books back! For the most part...]
no subject
I think we'll be okay, but we might need to work on getting your Stop spell back.
no subject
Huh? My stop magic? I don't know if I can relearn it. It's been a while.
no subject
There's no reason why we can't try. But why would you think you couldn't?
no subject
I've had my magic and skills stripped from me a few times over. I guess my stop magic was part of that too.
[The downfall to being a main protagonist that needs to start at level 1 every time a new game comes out---]
no subject
I...yes, that would make sense. Somehow. I admit. Something like that is...[He doesn't even know what word to use.
And so he goes for a change of tactic.]
You've been a lot, haven't you?
Very well, we can start from the beginning.
no subject
He's about to reply with something cheeky that he's fine and he's been through a lot but it's really okay. But he somehow stops himself from saying so. Something making him just...
Want to be a little more honest.]
I think I'd like that a lot, Ira.
[Start from the beginning. And maybe he can really hold onto his improvements this time. Something make him feel like Ira would be able to help him with that.]
no subject
He has been trying to do right by these new wielders. To make up for his mistakes before.]
Then I'll do my best. And hopefully, something will come back to you.
no subject
You're pretty cool, Ira. Thanks. It really does mean a ton to me.
no subject
But it does take long for him to relent.]
Of course. I-i'm glad to help...
no subject
Ira is the coolest master around in Sora's humble opinion. He's really made Sora's day.
Once he lets go Sora grins happily.]
I guess we better finish cleaning up and head out, huh?
no subject
[Please give him a moment, he's a little overcome with emotion.]
It might be best to give the library a bit of a wide berth.
🎀
You might be right about that one... Come on, let's go.
[And so they head out.]
