✵ TEST DRIVE MEME: JUNE ✵

A reminder that our Test Drive Memes double as an Intro Log and threads can be carried over in-game, which means all content is forward dated to the first week of the app month. They are also required for samples. Refer to the Game Info for general information and feel free to toss any TDM related questions here. Reserves are open and Applications open on July 1st. Our application cycles are bi-monthly so the next cycle won't be until September.

I. WELCOME TO SONGEREIN

Upon "arriving" into Songerein, everyone is understandably confused. The first thought would be they must be in a dream, which makes sense since the last thing they might remember doing is falling asleep or losing some form of consciousness or awareness before opening their eyes and finding themselves in the Plaza of some strange town they've never seen before. But there are a lot of other people around, some that may look familiar but others so strange that it would be impossible for their own imagination to dream up. And they're all just as confused. Fortunately, a red tapir-like creature appears and introduces itself as Solei, one of the "keepers" of this place. It offers some explanation before letting everyone explore their new "home." [Reminder: Other people aside from the characters will also appear to act as filler NPCs so keep in mind that new groups are at least double the size. Players are also free to be creative and come up with any kind of creature or animal their characters might encounter. The only limitations are they must be small to medium in size and not be overly aggressive as the creatures within the town are mostly passive, just wary of the new arrivals.]

A. Magic Journals. Everyone will find a journal stylized just for them on their person somewhere and it's the primary means of communication with everyone. The only limitation is that it's text only, but images can be magically imprinted on the page from the writer's mind. Might as well give it a whirl and see who all is out there.

B. Dreamotion Abilities. Although everyone maintains most of their original abilities while in Songerein, they are also capable of using special abilities based on dreamotion energy. From having their emotions affecting the environment to utilizing new abilities entirely, it's probably something that they should start familiarizing fairly quickly. Especially since all the emotional surprise and confusion may already be affecting things, such as random glass shattering or cracks forming at one's feet.

C. Exploring Town. The town of Reverein is small but still sizable as it continues to grow, so walking around and to see what all there is might be a good idea. Many shops and businesses are popping up all the time and most necessities can be found. Although gold coins have been introduced, bartering is still the main method of purchasing and many retailers will waive first time purchases for newcomers. The population is still much smaller than the town itself, so there are still plenty of homes and buildings that are free to claim, and some may still need a bit of cleaning and renovating. Venturing out of the town to the fields and the Wildlands beyond is fine, though many would recommend having an expert accompanying them when going to the Wildlands.

D. Dreambucks Cafe. As a way to welcome their new inhabitants as well as give them a nice, cool refreshment after all the work they will be doing, the tapirs will call everyone's attention to a certain cafe back at the Plaza. Called Dreambucks, it's a quaint little cafe staffed by friendly tea fairies and primarily serves refreshing drinks and small cakes. Specializing in teas, their products are quite special as the flavor will influence one's emotions and dreams—but in a good way! There are no harmful side effects and they are usually positive. Bolstering one's spirit; calming or relaxing nerves. The tea fairies want everyone to enjoy their time. Anyone can pick whichever table they want to take a break and meet some people. Or take a peek at what someone might be dreaming thanks to the teas.

There are three different types of teas available:

Mango orange juice. Sweet with a citrus tang. The heat of the day doesn't seem so overbearing, in fact you may feel downright cool as if in the shade everywhere you go! With this, you may feel the want to hang around with those who seem to be having a bit more trouble with the heat and just hang out.
Strawberry watermelon fizz. Bubbly and refreshing! The way this drink fizzles somehow feels as if it's lightening your mood with every sip, more cheerful. More open to speaking with others to spread the sudden good mood, perhaps.
Raspberry lemonade. Tart and sweet balanced nicely. A refreshing drink that leaves you with an easy feeling, rolling with whatever may come your way- just be careful not to let it turn into carelessness. Never know what might cross your path- or what paths you may stumble into.

Although it doesn't always happen, sometimes the tea will be a strong enough influence that it will make the drinker daydream for a bit. Anyone nearby may notice their dream crystal lantern flicker and catch a brief glimpse of the daydream on it. Or perhaps those who want to try out their dream crystal lanterns are deliberately trying to see if their dreams are captured. Only daydreams influenced by the tea can be caught and even then it's just a brief glimpse, but it's still an interesting way to see how the dream crystal lanterns work.

Note: Although gold coins have been introduced, everything served is free for newcomers as a welcome gift. However it might not be immediately obvious and the fairies won't mind if customers repay in some way, be it helping out via cleaning and serving, giving gifts such as flowers or fruits, or something else.

II. LOCAL PROMPTS

It's never a dull moment in Reverein and in the surrounding areas. Whether it's fulfilling a job from the latest Dream Board or dealing with current events, there's always something to do. Note on the weather: it is hot hot hot and humid. Although not explicitly listed as a prompt, all current weather and any other local happenings listed in the linked sections are fair game to use or incorporate in your prompts!

A. Wild Fountain Chaos. Due to some meddling by a well-meaning-but-still-mischievous fae, the fountain in Reverein has come alive. It has taken to luring residents close with anything from incoherent murmuring to outright shouting, "Hey you, over here!" before spraying those unlucky enough to fall for it, soaking them thoroughly. In its mind—or whatever qualifies as a mind for an inanimate object suddenly given consciousness—it's helping people out. It's hot outside, and who wouldn't feel cooler after a refreshing spray? Of course, the fountain isn't always filled with water. Thanks to the aforementioned fae's magic, the fountain's contents change at random intervals—and so do the related effects of being hit by the fountain's spray.

1. Sparkling Water. If any of this gets into the mouth, there is a distinct taste of something vaguely of lemon…as imagined by someone who has only heard of lemons third-hand and had to take their best guess as to how it tastes. People can't help but feel disappointed by it and may become a lot more sour minded than usual. Oh, and they start floating up into the air, so that's not going to help matters. Any attempts to add sugar will only make it worse and make people hyper instead.
   
   
2. Juice. Everyone who gets a taste of this feels like a kid again! Everything is bright and sparkly, and there's a sticky feeling to the skin that is somehow not unpleasant. The adhesiveness is strong enough to climb and hang upside down from just about any surface, if anyone is so inclined to test it out. Maybe even get stuck to each other.
   
   
3. Alcohol. Regardless of whether it's champagne, wine, or beer, the effect is the same: those who get a taste are now drunk. And since this inebriation is magical, there may be unintended dreamotion consequences to any drunken behavior. Explosive dreamotion effects, suddenly feeling very honest or cuddly—even just a sip will make the most high tolerant get a nice buzz. Have fun. (Drinking parties and challenges may or may not be deliberately set up around the fountain with the other flavors used as games.)

Bonus! The fountain can be distracted and/or placated if residents provide it something refreshing in return. It's working really hard keeping everyone else cool, so it deserves a reward! If residents strike up a conversation with it, it will eventually request an iced coffee. Just be warned that it's very particular about its coffee and will have a complicated order that would make the average barista scream.

B. Sand Castle Guardian. There is just a random, giant lifesized sandcastle right by the shores of the lake that suddenly appeared. No one knows where it came from, not even the local fae. They swear it just appeared overnight and they can sense strange magic to it—but nothing dangerous. Some have even ventured in and found nothing of concern. Despite being made of sand, it's a sturdy building…however wind does blow away bits and pieces over time. Once a crowd has gathered, a voice booms overhead, again the source:

I AM THE SAND GUARDIAN, GUARDIAN OF THE SAND.

A small voice shouts nearby, "Poseidon quivers before him!!!!!"

The "Sand Guardian" continues to state that it has a few challenges to give to these dreamers and fae. Should they succeed, they will be granted a great reward. And those challenges are…

1. LIVING LEGENDS. In one ornately decorated library, certain books that are sparkling with golden sand can be pulled out. Upon opening them, life sized forms of a single key character or monster will suddenly appear. The Kraken, the Leviathan, Poseidon, Moby Dick, Jaws—the possibilities are endless. Characters must face and defeat these "legends" using only their dreamotion…to create sand and water based items and attacks. Any other type of ability will be nullified and not work at all. All normal weapons stripped and any other magic just creates a puff of hot air. Even any conjured weapons must be "sea" themed. Want a harpoon? Will have to be satisfied with one made of hardened sand or magic water and hope that one hit works before it collapses. But a massive wave of water or a giant blob of sand could go a long way. The "legends" themselves aren't too strong, either—in fact they are made of paper and shells, but they are still tough and will take a bit of a beating before they disappear back into the book. Win and claim a fancy conch shell as a prize.
   
   
2. PEARL DODGEBALL. A simple game of dodgeball…or so it looks at first glance. It can be a game of 1v1 or 2v2 with the opponents being other dreamers, the fae, or some strange sea creatures that seem to be part of the sandcastle. Using a red pearl the size of a standard issue dodgeball, the goal is to hit the other person and remain standing in a best 2 out of 3 games. However, the real challenge is what happens if the person is hit by the ball. The moment they are hit, they turn into a giant oyster and have a chance to try and catch the ball in their "mouth." Should they manage, it's an instant win and they turn back to normal, transferring the oyster fate to their opponent. If they still fail, they will have to stay in that form until the end of the rounds and even then will have to hop and bounce around for about half an hour before they change back. Winners are rewarded with a few rainbow beads.
   
   
3. TREASURE. Like any castle, there is treasure to be found, and the Sand Guardian has given everyone a list of items that can be taken (players are free to make up whatever is on the list, have fun with it; or be vague whatever works). However, there are forbidden items that must not be touched, and their cues are simple: anything that has rainbow glowing sand on it. Unfortunately this sand has an enchantment that makes it so very hard to resist so one must be of strong will! If the item is touched, be it on purpose or accidentally, the castle will tremble and roar before cursing the would be thief to the dungeons...as a little jeweled hermit crab. Fortunately as a small crab, walking through the bars is pretty easy. Only way out is to somehow make it out of the mazelike place. Calling for large help to hitch a ride would also be helpful. Just be where the giant sand crabs and sand lizards that serve as "guards," but…they're made of sand. So not the most threatening or dangerous to get past. At worst a caught crab will be stuck in their sand bodies and paraded around for humiliation. Those who aren't naughty and find all the treasure will be rewarded with a fish tank treasure chest.

Of course just relaxing on the lake is a fine option for those who may not want to deal with the strange sand castle challenge.

III. DREAMSCAPE TUTORIAL

Note: this is set after or current event with the lunar wolves and moonscape. There's still work to be done to get a new moon back up into Songerein, and the tapirs and Elimei are here to help with some aid from the lunar wolves. A dreamscape is constructed where moon stones are scattered over a strange moonscape covered with craters filled with bouncy jello(??) and landscaping. Is that a forest or a jungle? Unlike the previous moonscape, there aren't as many threats so this will serve as great practice for those trying out their dreamwalking and dreamotion abilities.

A. Shooting Star Collection. Madame Blackbird has made a request that if they see any shooting stars to collect them in a special bag she's sewn up just for this purpose. The tapirs are happy to oblige and provide some shooting stars to appear, but these stars are tricky! They are super fast and need to be caught before they hit the ground. Beware when they land as they will basically explode and leave a small watermelon size crater. Definitely wouldn't want to be hit directly by that! It's all about flexing one's dreamotion abilities to figure out creative ways to catch and slow down those stars. Some might even look a little interesting with little black eyes that race around the ground. If caught, they will help give star catchers a big boost in speed and even allow them to fly into the air. (Complete with music.)

B. Playing with Pups. The lunar wolves have sent their pups to help aid the dreamwalkers in finding the moonstones…however, pups will be pups. First they will "tag" anyone and cast a special "blessing" that will change the individual into a random animal. Usually it's a wolf, but sometimes the pups feel a bit more mischievous so it could be anything. Then, while they will help find the stones, some pups will request playing a game of hide and seek along the way towards the moonstone's location. Characters can use whatever ability they have, including some granted by their animal form. Enhanced hearing, sight, smell, taste and any magic ability that could fit the theme. Just be warned—the pups are very mischievous and may run off to new hiding places, sending their playing partners into thorny bushes, muddy crater wallows, and other random annoyances. Find the pup, find the stone! It's a win/win, right? …Right?

C. Moon Gaps. Most of the moon stones are pretty simple and have no extra flair to them. Safely pick them up and put them in whatever container being used. However, moon stones that have a dark crescent shape should be handled with care. Touching these will instantly make the area around the individual change into a small reflection of what their own home world's moon might look like OR takes on the appearance of a popular moon based story from their world. It seems innocuous and quite fascinating at first, but creatures native to either the moon's story or the home world will start appearing, nightmare energy slowly corrupting them. What is actually happening is a strange "gap" or portal has been created and those elements of the character's world are seeping into the dreamscape. Two things need to happen to close the gap: 1) the moon stone must be purified by forcing a lot of positive dreamotion energy into it; and 2) the creatures must be defeated. Better ask for help because while only one or two creatures might be showing up, more will continue the longer the gap is opened. Wouldn't want them to leak into Songerein proper now…

So these journals convey everything we write to others? That is quite impressive! Nothing at home is similar to this, perhaps upon my return I can take it with and show it to our craftsmen in hopes to replicate it--

Oh, I've forgotten myself. My name is Kujou Sara, and I am from Inazuma. If that is familiar to anyone I would appreciate further communication.

( Sara looks no more out of place than anyone else in this world -- tall, her short dark hair making the red mask she rarely takes off stand out even more. Her expression is stern as she examines the menu and the cakes before her, though one can easily pick up on the fact that she is not angry at the fairies or picking an argument with them. Occasionally, if one stares hard enough, they will see a flicker of two pairs of dark wings behind her.

If anyone happens to inquire as to what is taking her so long, she will regard them with a soft sigh and a slightly less severe expression. )

No, I-- well. Everything is so sweet.

( There's a hint of sheepishness in her voice as she casts her eyes to look back at the options available. )

( Things Sara normally does not engage with: things that seem frivolous, such as fulfilling challenges give to her by a large castle made from sand. Not because she sees herself as above such things but because her attention is normally required elsewhere. But the Tenryou Commission does not exist here, and nor does the Shogun. So beyond the tasks that Sara takes -- and she takes a great many -- there is nothing besides training to take up her time.

Which is why she made her way to the crowd of people and the strange structure in the first place; beyond the kneejerk reaction to go and manage any disturbances that might crop up to ensure everyone's safety. Still -- if a challenge has been issued and Sara has no other duties to attend to, why not engage?

So she stands with a red pearl in hand, staring down her opponent with a sharp, uncompromising gaze, whether it be 1v1 or 2v2. )

[The first thing he registers is the noise. The town and the plaza may seem small to some, but to Link, they're quite a change from the version of Hyrule he left behind. It's the most bustling area he's seen in...Goddess, how long? It's hard to say. But it's a little overwhelming at first.

The effect doesn't last terribly long, outshined by an industrious desire to explore the area. Ever hear that story about curiosity and the cat? He hasn't.

He can be found in the plaza, poking his nose where it doesn't belong, examining every little corner of the area, and...maybe looking for footholds to climb up and get a better view. Hey, a tall building might be just the ticket to get an idea about how big this area actually is.]

[Admittedly, the first thing Link things upon seeing the fairies is do I have a bottle? ...but that seems kind of rude, especially when they're being so kind, and not even in an overbearing personal space, I don't know them kind of way. Besides, he's certainly curious about the food and drinks...and their side effects. It's not like he's never drank anything that had effects like these, it's just...well, most of them have things like bugs and monster parts in them. It's different. So he examines the drink he finally gets --"I'll try whatever you recommend," he had said to them-- curiously: first looking, then listening (it...fizzes?), then smelling. He's being kind of weird about it, so if he makes eye contact with anyone watching him be weird, he just sort of casually tilts his head.]

What did you order?

[It's unclear whether he absolutely doesn't know he's being odd, or whether he does know and just doesn't care.]

[Something is definitely strange about that fountain. From a distance, it almost seems to be whispering, but up close... ah, yes, it's definitely talking. It's definitely--]

Hup!

[--shooting water at him. He jumps to the side, dodging the blast of water, but-- if you happen to be unlucky enough to be behind him, you might get a splash in the face instead. When he notices, he grimaces a bit.] Sorry. Are you alright?

["I AM THE SAND GUARDIAN." Hm. That's a little ominous, isn't it? Link is nothing if not two things: curious and thorough, and to that end, he's exploring the perimeter of the sand castle before going inside. He puts a hand on the wall -- seems sturdy enough, though a few grains of sand cling to his fingers as he pulls them away.

So. I mean. Here's the thing. Link sees this castle, and most normal people are probably like "hm okay I guess I'll go inside and take a look around," but...but Link is kind of not normal. ("Kind of.") So he sees this castle and thinks, "oh, I bet I can climb this."

And thus, here he is. Climbing the side of a sand castle. If you happen to be standing below as he gets higher, he might be knocking a little sand off as he goes. He seems determined to do things the hard way rather than use a door or some stairs like most people would do. What a weirdo.]

[ Zelda is just coming out of a shop on the Plaza when a flash of a familiar shade of blue catches her attention out of the corner of her eye. Without even thinking, she glances in that direction, heart catching in her chest, just in time to see a figure disappear down an alleyway.

Then her mind catches up with her and she lets out an impatient sigh. This isn't the first time this has happened, where she noticed someone wearing the exact same shade of blue as the Champions' garb and her imagination immediately jumped to the most impossible conclusion that one of them had somehow awakened here. But then she'd look again and realize it wasn't one of her lost companions.

And of course it wasn't. They couldn't possibly be here. The Champions are gone and nothing will ever change that, no matter how extraordinary this dream world's powers are. How many more times must she see a blue-garbed person before she stops experiencing this unreasonable spark of hope followed immediately by the crushing disappointment of reality?

Zelda shakes her head, intending to continue about her day, but her gaze lingers on the alley where the blue-garbed figure disappeared. Then again, they did look similar in stature to Zelda and their hair color was more fair than dark...

She hesitates, looking around the busy plaza, then back to the alleyway. It's silly. Impossible. She's just inviting more disappointment on herself.

And yet, the princess has always been one to hope beyond hope, even when she thinks she's finally given up. She turns and heads into the alley to pursue the suspiciously Link-shaped figure. ]

[Shirou attempts to recollect himself and tries to understand what's going on. He can't seem to remember what happened over the past few hours and he feels even more disoriented from entering this strange dream. Sweat drops from his forehead and his vision blurs somewhat. Clearly he's not anywhere near home anymore and this isn't Fuyuki city. The only thing that he's sure of is that there's someone he has to protect no matter what. He finds the strength to keep going even if he has no idea why he's here to begin with. Realistically he should go find a place to rest and regain his sense of being, but there's no time for that. Shirou needs to explore the town and learn more about his situation. It sure is hot though. It's unusually hot. ]

Hey, there. My name's Shirou Emiya. I always thought it was important for me to get stronger no matter what.
I have some experience with fighting but there's still so much more that I need to learn. Is there anyone here with proficiency in archery and swordsmanship who's willing to teach?

I can't afford to slack off just because I'm not at home anymore. My senses will start to dull if I put this off for too long so I really need to get this going. The only things I can offer in return are home cooked meals and some housework. I realize I might be asking for something absurd but I'm desperate right now. I hope that we can get along and be friends.

[Sparks go flying every time Shirou touches something with his hands. There's a bright flash of light followed by the sounds of the air sizzling. Dreamotion is starting to take its effect and he suddenly finds himself at a loss of what to do with it all. Shirou lets out a very heavy sigh.]

 

Why does it have to be this way? I don't seem to recall asking for things to turn out like this. What the hell.  

[If he suddenly encounters anybody while he's still emitting sparks everywhere he's just going to shake his head.]

 

This sounds troublesome because I can't control what's happening around me. You might want to take a step back.

I'll never back down from a real fight!! I just have to try harder to win. 

[Shirou focuses his energy into creating a pair of blades. He's had some time to adjust and learn what it means to properly control dreamotion energies. A blade forged entirely of dreamotion energy appears before him. This will be good enough to fight back. Earlier Shirou thought these methods of fighting would work best.  Well, he didn't think this through enough because he still can't do much even with proper control over dreamotion. He lets out a loud scream and charges into the enemy. ]

It wasn't like he'd wanted to die. Not really. But, weighing the cost of accepting yet another set of chains against the cost of Maruki's threats being real... there was no choice at all.

The world was collapsing, his mask and helmet long since vanished. And he was falling, fraying at the edges. This was it. This was the moment. If it was a bluff, he'd wake up in a cell. If it wasn't... If it wasn't-

His boots touched grass, and he drew a breath. What.

He was alive. The sun was shining, the air hot and muggy with summer air, a small town that was no way in hell Tokyo sitting around him. What.

Inventory. Pistol. Sword. Both heavy in his hands, real and not props. No mask or helmet, but the suit and cape were still there. Book he didn't recognize, a black feather sticking out like a bookmark. Hereward?

Seething, there, beneath the surface, but not ready to strike, as if he were in danger. What the hell. This wasn't Tokyo, it wasn't a Palace, and it damn sure wasn't Mementos. Panicking wasn't going to help. It wasn't going to help at all. Information. Someone was staring at him. A cognition? Maybe??

With a tone kept carefully level, he addressed the stranger. "I'm going to ask, very politely, for you to tell me where I am. I'd like an answer. And if you don't, I'm going to ask a lot less politely."

Hmph...so this is a book, huh. With how those annoying priests carried on with them I thought it'd be some big deal, but in the end it's just a bunch of paper with words. Feh! I knew these things were a waste of time. Who'd want to carry one of these useless things around all the time?

At least a monolith can be used to crush someone!

[ Because....you know, that's what's important when transcribing anything down on a surface. "How well can I crush people with this after?"

d. Dreambucks Cafe

[ Of everything Mammon has seen so far, this place is by far the most busy and bustling. Most of the new arrivals seem to be heading inside...for what? Adventure? Treasure? Is it perhaps some sort of small, disappointing, newborn dungeon...??

Mammon sees the fairies serving drinks though and squints. This sounds like one of those things Ffion is always going on about. The place with the women. Mead? A...tavern, is what she'd called it. Probably. They do seem to be serving drinks here.

Mammon's never tasted anything from a tavern before. Mana, stamina, and health potions? Sure. Those got dropped by fallen adventurers all the time. Proper dining though, not so much. It couldn't hurt to try, the think, bored. Humans were always raving about "eating a decent meal once we get out of this place," before Mammon killed them. Maybe it's worth a shot.

While the sand castle itself isn't anything impressive as far as Mammon is concerned, they are curious to see what their compatriots pass off as 'loot' for foolhardy treasure-seekers in this place. As soon as Noé opens the book, a woman with a serpent tail and wings appears right in front of him. Before he gets to say or do anything, Melusine screeches furiously and attacks him right of the bat. ]

[Listen it is hot and this man is from Snezhnaya, the coldest region in Teyvat. He has had immense amounts of fun fighting people, but that Harbinger jacket is getting removed as he stops by the cafe to get something to drink. He's got himself some mango orange juice, and much to his surprise the heat suddenly doesn't seem so bad.

Finding somewhere to sit nearby to enjoy it, the influence of the tea causes him to daydream, his mind wandering back to fighting, of course. Flickers of the vision include him fighting unrecognizable, frightening looking monsters from Teyvat (unless your character is from Teyvat and/or has seen them already in game. I'm going to make this up as I go) or he's daydreaming about the fights he just had and analyzing them with excruciating detail (basically anyone who tagged into prompt A and fought him.)]

In the meantime, Paimon is enjoying the free refreshments and small cake like any child, taking a bite from one cake with a spoon and then shifting her body to a tall glass of orange drink, floating is a lot of work for her. [He had fallen asleep but for a moment.

He was most certain of this, as it had not been the first time of which he had curled up within a quiet corner of Asphodelos and committed himself to slumber. For oh, he had been where he was for a while. The act of research- of trying and failing to breach the ward unto Abyssos had been a long task. One drawn out, and one which so far, had been unsuccessful.

Simply the virtue of time being spent on the same task, in the same area, in the same location had meant that this was not the first time he had cleared his mind and allowed himself rest. And he had dreamt, yes. Fragments of dreams- afterimages, mostly- of a certain hippokampos in the wrong place at the wrong time but no less murderous for it, the stunningly beautiful violence of the failed phoinix, and of course, the dripping venom of the hemitheos that had once been the man Hesperos came and went from his subconscious so very many times.

Yet they were fragments. Nothing more. Merely afterimages. Things that dissipated and vanished. They, any of them, were absolutely nothing like where he finds himself. For this... area, this plaza(?) is bright. Cheerful, even- and the mere thought that closing his eyes somewhere as dismally dark as Pandæmonium's uppermost level could result in a dream anything as ...optimistic as what this is, is quite surprising.

Much like the surprise, he experiences when he is approached by the red tapir-like creature. A familiar of some kind, he would tell himself... were he to be awake. Something he would quite like to interrogate as well were he to be awake. Yet he does not. For this is only a dream, is it not? Seeking details, explanations, of dreams was a fool's errand- liable to create more questions than answers- so he merely allows things to stand as they are. He merely accepts the journal as it is surrendered to him, flicking through a few pages, before closing it, tucking it underneath his arm, and offering his thanks.

And then he begins to walk, his eyes wide as he regards the flourishing (and rather quaint) little town around him.]

At an angle, so she's completely horizontal. Aerith's braid is swaying as she struggles against the citrusy adhesive she seems to be coated in now. Despite the bizarre situation, she's not even remotely vexed by it. Amusement is splashed across her features, and tries to raise her legs again to not avail. Well! This is not a one person job, it seems. ]

[ The stars shooting out of the sky are gorgeous to Aerith's eyes. Each one of them is definitely strong enough to hold the weight of someone's wishes. If you spot her making a wish instead of catching a star... don't tell on her, okay? Or do. Who knows.

But if you happen to catch the white mage actually doing as she's been asked, it's getting her goat. She's blanking for a long time on what to do. Before long, however, she decides on something. The light bulb seems to go over her head after a moment, and she turns to the nearest person: whether you've wander in with her or not, it doesn't matter. She'll turn to you, a staff in hand, and smile. ]

I've got an idea, but... think you can lend a hand?

🎀 ii. playing with pups.

[ The smoky-coated wolfpup she'd paired with in this dream is a handful. Cuter than a basket of flowers, but a rambunctious little thing that just can't seem to burn off enough energy. Playful to a fault, the cute little bugger had gone and caught her into a loop of hide and seek. She's fine with that. It's a long detour, but if it helps the puppy focus and burn off energy. That was then.

What's happening now is quite simple: A smoky-coated wolfpup accosts you from afar, peeking out from some foliage. It clearly wants to play, and seems unattended...

But when you get closer, a hummingbird with a brilliantly green plume of feathers shoots out of the sky, a curious shade of pink decorating it's throat. Perhaps you immediately recognize Aerith Gainsborough, or maybe this is just a strange display. Either way, the hummingbird twirls around the puppy for a moment, as if to say Found you! while it barks and hops around, tail wagging.

[The indignity of being sprayed hasn't left Peter in a particularly great mood. His blue and red spider suit is now just soaked through. The backpack he's wearing has narrowly avoided the soak treatment.]

Ugh, the whole suit is sticky now, ugh, ugh- why a soda fountain!? [The teenager is amidst his complaints the teenager begins to float in the air. He doesn't notice it at first. It starts small one or two steps missing the ground before he's walking on air.

Then he notices and flails in a panic, shooting web at the nearest building or person to anchor himself onto.

2. - Dodge Ballin'

[After the embarrassing debacle with the fountain and floating around, Peter manages to come back to the ground. Once he's sure he's stable on his feet he ducks out of sight to change. The teenage boy changes out of his wet sopping spider suit to his everyday clothes. He's glad he has something else to wear.

Peter hustles out of the corner he ducked into, wandering around taking in the beach. This has to be a really weird dream. No way he's actually somewhere real.

He's mulling the thought over when someone on the sand darts over to him, grabbing him by the elbow and hauling him into the dodge ball game.]

Woah, woah, woah, no! I'm- I'm really not into this!?

[A ball whizzes just past Peter's face making the teenager's eyes go comically wide.]

?! [ Said person is just passing by, having narrowly avoided getting sprayed herself when she can feel a sudden stickiness at her back. She squeaks, stopping immediately as she turns to turn to find out what hit her. From there, she can feel the web coming off her back like string, though it seems to cling to her skin.

She doesn't notice Peter right away. Maybe she thinks the fountain did that or was otherwise responsible. Slight annoyance colors her face, and after a moment, a small flame forms in her hands as she tries to light the web on fire. ]

2-a. Juice Splash. Helios had seen the commotion and was a little curious as to what could have caused a fountain to behave this way. In a way it was charming despite its mischief, especially as he had never seen a "magic" fountain such as this. And once he's sprayed with some strange fruit mix juice and gets a taste, he giggles a little.]

I know this is causing trouble, but—haha! [He laughs again when he's sprayed with more juice, the colored liquids staining his white clothes but he doesn't care. He wouldn't have minded to begin with, anyway.] This is actually kind of fun...!

[And despite being centuries or even thousands of years old, Helios has the appearance of a young barely teen boy so there's bit more of a boyish appearance as he scoops the water and splashes it towards the nearest person, laughing as he does. Really, has he ever had this much fun before?

2-b. Sticky Situation. However, sometimes accidents happen and he unintentionally bumps into someone in his carefree play or perhaps he slips on a puddle and crashes into someone else.]

Oh, I'm sorry—eh?

[However, when he tries to pull away, he finds himself...stuck??

BONUS! After cleaning up and taking some time to...regain his composure (but still feeling a bit refreshed from playing around), Helios is going to try and help figure out how to appease this fountain. However, once he hears its demands...]

Ah...does anyone know what an iced coffee with...12 shots, 9 pumps vanilla, 10 pumps caramel, 50 pumps of syrup, 22 pumps hazelnut, 3 tablespoons of cinnamon, and one pump sugar means? And it must be stirred, not shaken and a size...extra trenta?

[He has so many question marks. What does this all mean? Does any of this even exist???]

☄ ii: local prompts - sandcastle

[1. Living Legends. The sandcastle was awe inspiring and the library drew him in. However, he hadn't expected to witness such fierce battles—or to find his usual powers that transferred over be unavailable to him. A challenge of using sand...and water... Using his quick thinking he raises his hand and constructs a sand shield in front of someone about to receive a nasty blow. Of course it's...sand, so not the strongest, but it will be just enough to take the brunt of the hit instead.]

I'm still learning as we go, but I'll do my best to offer protection and healing!

[Water is naturally a healing element, so if he can try and focus some kind of prayer into purification, it might work. Maybe. Only one way to find out, but he hopes he never has to.

3. Treasure Hunt/Exploring. After those fierce encounters, Helios is more than happy to just take that treasure hunting list and roam around the castle, the exploration more enjoyable than the actual treasure finding.]

It's amazing how this castle is made of only sand... Is it really just all magic?

☄ iii: dreamscape

[The moment Helios steps into the dreamscape, he appears as his pegasus form with a golden horn—which surprises him as he's no longer cursed and shouldn't ever need to take on this form. A few quick tests relieves him as he finds he can change to and from at will, so he can only assume this is some quality of being in this dream world. But if it will help...

A. Shooting Stars. His pegasus form is ideal when chasing after those shooting stars! With a bag around his neck, he flies through the moon skies, enjoying the feel of the air rushing past as he dips and swerves to cast those fast stars. It's not easy, but he's able to catch a few. When he takes a break on the ground he offers his services to anyone who may be interested.]

If you'd like, you could ride on my back. It may be easier to catch the stars that way—and it's actually quite fun.

[It may be hard to tell, but he has a warm, friendly expression whenever he speaks.

B. Pup-And-Seek. The pups also seem to enjoy Helios in his pegasus form, so although he tried to play with them in his normal human form, he had to accept his fate. One even hops on his back as the other goes off to hide.]

All right, we can do one game, but we really need to focus on the moon stones.

[It's. An attempt to focus but the pups just giggle and the one who knows where the moon stone is darts away to hide. This leave Helios to have a bit of a comical sight as he raises one wing and tucks his head beneath it as he...counts.]

[Although there are more pressing matters, he does have to admit this is a bit fun. And when he's searching around, it's probably quite the sight seeing a small pegasus sticking his head in the bushes or rearing up to check the lower branches of the trees. When one game gets a little too long, he's going to need some help.]

C. Exploring

[Shionne's eyes flutter open slowly-- and then snap open rather quickly as she takes in the view. Confusion and panic quickly swell within her as her mind catches up with the situation. There doesn't seem to be any immediate danger, so perhaps her reaction seems a bit over the top. But that's precisely the issue. There's no sign of danger... but there's also no sign that the danger she anticipated was defeated either. In fact, there's nothing familiar here at all.]

This can't be... but...

[Distressed, dreamotion energy crackles gently around her, like small visible electrical sparks as she curls in on herself anxiously.]

...was it... all a dream...? [Her heart feels like it might shatter under the weight of that thought. And yet--] No. It was all so real. So then... why is this happening now? [...] I need to know what's happening.

[Shionne visibly keeps her distance from others as she quickly strides through the unfamiliar city; she's very careful to make sure she doesn't even slightly brush up against others passing by. Shops are, for the most part, completely ignored but for a quick glance. She seems to be headed straight for the Wildlands.]

D. Dreambucks Cafe

[If there's one place Shionne could be tempted to go, even now, it's one with such wonderful smells coming from it. Of course, she quickly remembers that she has no way to pay. Even if the money they'd had would be good here-- and she's fairly certain it wouldn't-- she doesn't have any on her person. That doesn't stop her stomach from growling anyway.

...if she doesn't make eye contact with anyone, she can pretend that wasn't her-- right?]

A. Wild Fountain Chaos

[It's so incredibly hot... at first, Shionne thought she'd imagined the voice. But it didn't go away. In fact, it seemed to become more insistent. But upon further inspection, she still couldn't find anyone who might be responsible for that unfamiliar voice. But then again... she was looking for a person-- not the fountain standing right in front of her. An obvious mistake. One that someone who's thoroughly unfamiliar with this world could make all to easily.]

Where...? Show yourself!

[But the fountain's only answer is a healthy dose of alcohol sprayed all over her; effectively drenching her in it.]

[Normally this would be where she would complain about the state of her clothing. Alcohol isn't nearly as forgiving as water might be. And yet-- she looks down at herself and finds herself laughing. The heat is certainly no longer a problem but... well, from her reaction, you'd think there were no longer any problems at all!]

C. Exploring the Town
Where in the Hell was he? Well... not literally, obviously. With just one simple glance around, the adult film starlet could tell this place sure as shit wasn't the Pride Ring. He's been there, done that, got the crappy t-shirt. Overall, would not recommend. This place was so... green with no looming blood red sky. Frankly, it was kind of freaking him out. Did he somehow wander Topside?

However that thought quickly vanished upon seeing the strange local fauna that inhabited this place. They were the most normal thing about it, to be honest. It didn't even strike him as unusual when one of the funny creatures appeared before him and spoke. Solliez? Sola? Sully?.... something. Eh, who the hell cares? Angel wasn't really listening still believing all this was the result of something he took the night previous. This wasn't his first rodeo having hallucinations, and most certainly would not be his last. If it's one thing he's learned, don't go chasing rabbits.

Although, seeing humans struck the demon as an oddity. Standing at nearly eight feet, heeled boots and all, Angel wasn't the most subtle of creatures. Besides his towering height, all remnants of who he once been when he was alive was a thing of a long forgotten past. After his untimely departure from the land of the living, upon his relocation down south Angel woke to find himself in the form he took now. For those just arriving to Reverien, such as himself, might have mistook him for one of the mystical locals with how bizarre he appeared. The spider was used to prying eyes, though usually for a wholly different set of reasons back home.

Speaking of home, good fucking Jesus it was hot. Sure, Hell was hot. Water is wet. But the humidity made the heat a million times worse. It clung to the air making it feel like he was walking through soup. Not that his fur was helping matters. Have you ever had boob sweat with titty fluff? Angel could tell you in great personal detail how uncomfortable that combination was. First thing first, find a place to get out of the heat. Then figure a way to wake up from this weird acid trip he was having. Sulking away from the central plaza, Angel made his way toward what he thought were buildings that lined its borders. D. Dreambucks Cafe
As luck would have it, the sinner demon had found himself a quaint little café to escape the heat. Though it was rather unfortunate for the poor fae who was manning the bar that day. For the patrons of the shop had front row seats to the little show the spider was about to put on. Bending over, Angel rest an elbow of one of his primary arms against the countertop to nestle his cheek into a palm while his secondary set perched themselves on his narrow hips. Under the spider's intense flirtatious leer, the young fairy could be seen squirming, his face flushing a bit pink in response as he once again tried to explain to the demon about payment.

"R-really sir, the drinks are free."

Cracking a wide tooth smile, Angel chuckled leaning in a bit closer. "Sir? It's Angel Dust, sweetie. And nothin' is always hundred precent free. Someone is always paying someone. Like I said, I don't got money but I can pay in other ways~"

A visible chill ran down the fae's spine, his face now a brilliant shade of red. "No, really sir. All drinks are free for newcomers." Quickly the man slipped Angel a glass of that mango orange juice, eager to get him the leave. The spider needed to cool his jets. "P-please take this!"

Giving the offered glass a few pensive blinks, Angel shrugged and extended a hand to pluck it off the counter. "Suit yourself. But if ya ever change your mind, you know where to find me."

Angel shot the fairy a wink before he turned to go find a place to sit to sip his drink in peace. Scanning the establishment, he searched for an appropriate place to set up shop, maybe even do a little people watchin'.

II. LOCAL PROMPTS

A-3: Alcohol Fountain
Hot hot hot hot hot. Why was it so goddamn hot?! The shade provided little to no relief thanks to the high humidity. The moist air clutched the heat like a suffocating blanket everywhere he tried to retreat from it. You think living in Hell would have made him accustomed to such a climate. Ha, how wrong you would be. This was sheer torture. He'd rather be back in Hell.

Lost in his grumpy thoughts, Angel had failed to notice that he was fast approaching the enchanted fountain. If this was just a dream, would it be considered indecent exposure if he just decided to strip right then and there? The whole situation felt a little too real to just be in his own head. On the off chance this was really happening, Angel wasn't about to give everyone a free peep show. People pay good money for that-

"Hey! Look here!"

A voice cried out to him, abruptly being pulled out from his own little world Angel's head swiveled to see who, or what, had made the sound. Caught completely off guard, something cold and wet splashed the pornstar square in the face, drenching him in whatever the liquid had been. A burning annoyance radiated from him, brushing his soaked bangs from his eyes. This was his favorite outfit!

"Who the fu-?!" Angel began, but halted in his tracks as a familiar pleasant buzz prickled under his skin. Oh... oh. Was that alcohol? Licking his lips to confirm his suspicion, the corners of his mouth tugged upward. Well hello new friend. Now the demon was no light weight when it came to his booze but what ever he was sprayed had a nice kick to it. And the addict in him wanted more.

Sharp eyes locked on the only reasonable source of the mystery liquor, the fountain. Slinking over to it, Angel slouched over the rim of the basin, dragging finely tipped fingers along the brim.

"Ya know its rude to give someone a facial without consent. But I wouldn't mind if you did it again. I'm ready this time~" Yep, just a magically induced drunk spider talking to the fountain like it was a real person. Nothing to see here. Really testing out if he could make inanimate objects feel uncomfortable...

Being in Reverein for almost a year, Alastor was pretty much a common sight around town. Particularly since he would head to the market regularly for bread from the bakery and a few ingredients he couldn't source himself. So he was certainly used to the general strangeness of the place.

He tipped an imaginary hat to a few of the young ladies walking past before looking towards the fountain. Okay. It was alive now. Strange but there was currently a chance of starfish in the forecast. Seemed tame for this little dream world's logic. And there was Angel Dust propositioning the fountain --

The sudden screech of microphone feedback caused several passerby to jump as Alastor gawped at the sight of the spider.

Hang on. Need a minute to reboot.

[ I-B/C : A Moment's Respite ]

[ Yuma is no stranger to magic. It's not quite his forte - he tends to leave the heavier spellcasting to Rinna and Kirika - but he has several tricks up his sleeve and isn't startled by the strange effects it can cause. Dreamotion, however, is a completely different story. Not just in how one works with it manually, but how it just seems to happen on its own. Not that Yuma has noticed it happening around him...not quite yet, anyway. ]

I wonder if everyone's okay...

[ He's just wandering town for now, getting used to his new surroundings and taking everything in. Although he knows there's little to be anxious about, it's hard not to worry about things back home just a little bit. Still, something about this place puts him at ease. He isn't sure what... Maybe it's something about the people? Nobody seems to be paying him that much mind, at least not more than most other people. Yuma doesn't notice, but his footsteps are leaving tracks of pure light behind him. The spots linger for a moment, letting out a soft, barely-audible chime when he steps, before they form into particles and rise into the air before disappearing. Despite the tracks vanishing eventually, the trail is long enough to be easily noticed, so he's not hard to track down. ]


[ I-D : Dreambucks ]

[A] [ Yuma could use a break, and luckily it seems like Dreambucks is just the place for that. Yuma can be found in a quiet (but not quite isolated) corner, a cup of Strawberry Watermelon Fizz in his his hands. He's taking his time with it, and judging from his content expression, it seems to be just the pick-me-up he needed. If one looks closely, they might see glimpses of a moonlit sky in his dream crystal, the view flying past a forest of trees below and an ocean of stars above. ]

[B] [ Later on, Yuma can be found at a recently-vacated table with a dishrag in hand. The drinks may have been free, but Yuma doesn't doing a bit of cleaning as a form of thanks. It seems whoever was here last made a bit of a mess, but Yuma's doing an alright enough job getting it all wiped up. Every so often, he starts humming a little tune to himself as well. It's hard to tell if the smile on his face is from his drink earlier or if it's something about him cleaning up the table. ]


[ II-A : Fountain ]

[ After he's done at Dreambucks, Yuma decides to take another stroll around town to unwind a bit. Of course, it's not long before even that turns eventful, as he hears a voice calling out to him.

Yuma turns around, eyes wide. ] Huh? Who's-

[ And immediately gets doused in water.

It's even enough to knock him over. Disoriented and still sputtering when he stands up, it takes Yuma a moment to process what just happened. At least he's cooled off from the heat? He could have gone for literally anything else, though; now he's going to need a towel. Or some really creative dreamotion. He was not prepared for that. ]

[if there is one thing one could commend cloud strife for, it is the fact that he is stubborn—almost inspirationally so, in a way that portrays what not to do under the circumstances. the town of reverein is quite cozy, but he feels at odds just walking around and making himself comfortable.

which is why he treads his way down the streets in as much as a straight line as he can, a bulky sword on his back, sparing a few glances at the quaint buildings and the groups of people he goes past. he pauses when he reaches a dead end, turning around in mild confusion; should he have taken a turn somewhere?

back he goes, his boots heavy on the cobblestone, emerging from an alley between brick-lined structures with overhanging balcony and plenty of flowers hanging from the vine. squinting upwards for a moment and getting waved at by the smiling occupant of the balcony, cloud is quick to turn his gaze away and start walking, eyes on the ground in mild embarrassment.

said action takes away his spatial recognition, and has him instead walking right under the other balcony, whose occupant is tipping a pail of water over.]

Oh, dear!

[mutters and restrained giggles reach his ears, and all cloud can do is shake his head to remove any excess water. at least it's refreshing in this weather? a small, concerned crowd starts to form around him, and he just—]

[it seemed innocuous at first, certainly, having picked up a dark crescent shaped moon. cloud has yet to get used to the idea of how the world around him changes—how he himself changes through the most unexpected means. right now, it's as if a portal has opened, and creatures that are familiar to cloud (but shouldn't be here) start to race their way in.

he uses the buster sword to put down the hound that slunk through. in no time at all, however, another shows up. cloud exhales sharply, eyes narrowed, hands tightening around the hilt of his sword; he takes on a fighting stance, using the length of the sword to put distance between himself and the dog. another follows behind it, along with a nasty little vermin crawling in.

he takes note of someone approaching. not that he needs the help, but— he's past pretending he can make sense of this world. so, cloud calls out,]

[before gritting his teeth and using the flat side of his sword to block a hound from ramming into him.]

But, I thought I should use this to ask – I'm looking for my sibling! Chara was with me up until I woke up here... We've been together for a long time now. They've got a striped, green-colored sweater on, and they don't look older than 15.

( Upon exploring the town in an attempt to find any familiar faces, Asriel eventually ends up making his way to Dreambucks. He can't help but smile a little at the sight of fairies, giving them a small wave before ordering his own drink. He makes his way to a nearby table with his own tea, thankful for the free drink.

After settling down next to one of the windows, anyone who stops nearby might catch a glimpse of Asriel daydreaming about a talking, golden-colored flower talking to a rather tall, energetic skeleton. While the skeleton seems sincerely excited to talk to the flower, the plant in question... well... doesn't seem quite sincere. Either way, it's a rather strange sight to behold when it's a small, goat-like child daydreaming of such things. )

c. living legends

( Asriel hesitates briefly when the Sand Guardian announces the challenges. He's not so sure about some of them, but he has his own reasons for entering the castle. For the most part, he explores quietly – entering whatever room he can with a quiet 'hello?' or 'excuse me!'

He eventually makes his way to the library, eyes lighting up upon seeing just how many books were inside. He looks for any books that look unfamiliar to him before he settles on picking up a book about the Kraken. However, it seems that the moment he does so is the moment that Asriel feels a rumble.

It feels like his fur is standing on end as he turns, gasping quietly when he sees just what came out of the book. A rather large, purple-colored sea monster seems to have appeared in the library, and for a moment all he can do is take a step back. There's a part of him that wants to run away. He's not certain he can take on something like this on his own.... )

Uhm.... H-Howdy there....

… Gosh, we're really supposed to fight these on our own, huh?

Dreambucks Cafe

[ Naturally the first place she finds in town is a cafe, but Amy is more than happy to check it out. The various teas sounded pretty good, but she decides to try one of the fruity drinks instead.

And once she tries it, she's very glad that she did, as little bubbles start appearing around her while she takes another sip. ]

Oh wow, this is really good! [ Turning to the nearest person, she can't help a bright smile. ] Have you tried this strawberry watermelon fizz? It's really good!

Living Legends

[ Honestly, finding a book with golden sand hadn't taken too long, and Amy wasn't entirely worried when the sand had taken on the shape of a giant whale. She's certainly taken on a lot of tough things before, so that isn't really a problem.

What does worry her, though, is not being able to summon her hammer, or use any of her other abilities. ]

Only sand and water, huh? I wasn't much of an elemental user, but I guess I'll have to give it a try.

Shooting Star Collection

[ Honestly, this is a bit more Amy's speed...literally. She's used to chasing after some speedy people things, and these shooting stars aren't nearly as fast as certain individuals she knows.

And even though she's still getting used to using the dreamotion energy, she does manage to figure out how to give herself a little of a boost as she uses her Piko Piko hammer to launch herself pretty high in the air to try and catch a few of the stars. It's been a while since she's been able to do this, being up high and flipping through the air, and she's rather missed it.

It even works a few times, an she manages to catch a couple shooting stars here and there. ]

I have been in this world since April of this year, so I can safely say that people do show up in here from other worlds quite often. Some people have been to other worlds before coming here while, for others like myself, it is the first time we have ventured into a world completely different from ours.

E X P L O R I N G | T H E | T O W N

[ First off, having to have woken up in a strange unfamiliar place left a bad taste in her mouth. The second thing that bothered her even more was the feeling of being in a place similar to the First. It took her a moment to get over the disorientation and realizing she had been separated from her allies and brother once more, Alisaie had her face scrunched up a bit, as she tucked her hand behind her rapier and wandered down the street.

Having some strange abilities from this strange world also put her in a bit of a pinch. Things breaking at the tip of her emotions really surprised her. Now, it was just trying to keep that all together before she accidentally shattered another window. Regardless, the young Elezen is making her way down the town and exploring whatever she could find. Perhaps, she could do a few odd jobs and get information in exchange for that.

At least, that’s what she was hoping for. It’s just a typical day in the life. Nothing ever goes the right way these days. At the very least, she was able to make up with her father. That left her in a better mood than being entirely upset over the entire ordeal. They still had a lot to do and somehow, she had a feeling that she wouldn't be able to get back to the task at hand, without finishing whatever trials she would be facing here.

It was a really bitter, strange tasting substance, and suddenly her mind felt a little cloudy. Why the hell was it suddenly hot all of a sudden and the world seemed to partially be spinning.

In her attempt to stable herself, she came crashing into someone—roughly rather. ]

Approaching her slowly, he contemplated saying it was good to see her back, but something told him that she likely didn't remember her time here in the first place. So instead of welcome back...]

[Oh! What a delight.

Some may notice that a white wolf had simply wandered in to the cafe, following the scent of something sweet. Others might note something more out of the ordinary in the wolf's appearance. All the same her tail wagging as she was sat at a table as on of the tea faeries had greeted her.

There were snacks! So many delightful snacks! Snacks that were being gobbled up- and there was a dish filled with a fizzy drink lapped up between mouthfuls.

A bark, excited, would sound whenever someone passed. Sit down! Enjoy the snacks!]

II. Splash Fountain

[The wolf dashed around the fountain, bouncing in her steps, water splashing here and there; behind and around. Almost as if being chased, a game or sorts- even as some spouts of water shot not from the fountain, but where the wolf leapt from. Flowers even blooming through cracks in the ground wherever the wolf touched down.

What was this about perhaps distracting the fountain?]

III. Puppy Power Playtime

[It was so very, very easy to get caught up in playing with a small group of pups; to run through the strange foliage as flowers that didn't seem out of place bloomed in Ammy's wake. A few pups plowing right through those flower patched trails as if that were part of the game. Barking along, keeping track of the yips in turn.

There was still one more pup to be found, and it had to be in this area somewhere judging by the scent trail. The ones running behind her being pups already plucked from their own hiding places.

[ It's. A. DOGGO! While not as fantastic as it would be if it had been a cat who wandered into Dreambucks instead, a dog is essentially the next best thing. Although, given her size and her features, Satan is going to go with a wolf for this one. A large wolf with crimson markings and a rainbow... thing on her back. Not that it matters to him -- a cute animal is a cute animal.

Since the wolf seems content, he feels like it might be okay to approach her without fear of scaring her away. Once he's able to get close enough, he crouches down a bit so he's closer to her height. ]

Where did you even come from, you doggone cutie? Do you want some pets? Are you good with the snacks you have here?

My name is Nakajima Atsushi. I’ve never really had a journal before so i’m not even sure i’m doing this right. I just kinda woke up here and it’s… all honestly a little confusing still but… I want to see if anyone I know ended up here with me.

[ While it’d been a surprise for him to just find a cafe run by fairies, it hadn’t taken him very long to go and order a drink to try and stay cool. It’d do noone any good if he just collapsed from the heat, so he’d ordered the Mango Orange Juice which had really honestly helped and put him in a relatively good mood.

He’d felt bad for not being able to pay them, so this just meant one Atsushi Nakajima was going around cleaning some of the tables when they cleared up. Doing odd jobs never seemed like an unusual thing so he didn’t mind it.

It was only when he began to get lost in his own thoughts that he ended up bumping into someone without much warning, to which he rounded to face them and realized that he’d ended up making them spill their drink… whether it was on themselves or just onto the ground. ]

Ah! Oh no, i’m so sorry. I didn’t mean…

[ It was just an honest mistake but he felt awful about it, dichromatic eyes just looking around until he just helplessly offered his cloth he’d been using to wipe down tables with. ]

II-A – Wild Fountain Chaos

[ The fact of the matter was, while Atsushi wasn’t exactly dumb? He wasn’t always the most perceptive while he’d been wandering around Reverein, just trying to find a way to cool off. So he wasn’t really thinking much on who or what was calling out to him until he’d turned around and got blasted with something.

It was bitter and not like anything he’s really had a taste of, so just as he prepared to just try and wring out his clothes? He’d felt like the world was spinning a bit and he couldn’t think straight, a pleasant buzz under his skin that he couldn’t put a word to until he’d tripped and fell back onto his rear.

Something that just made him burst out laughing, weirdly not in a bad mood and just feeling so light.. and strangely free. He’d never really touched alcohol before so this was really just… his first time being drunk. Don’t mind him. ]

[ this kind of weather is the worst, really. hot and humid, it's rather challenging for her to think clearly, preferring something cooler or lower temperatures when given a choice. but as it stands, lumine's stuck here for now, just like her current clothes sticking to her skin. she walks around in search of a nearby shade, fanning herself with a hand and pushing her hair out of face when—

[ she doesn't even get the chance to turn around and see who called her attention, the spray of the water catching her off-guard. on the one hand, the water is at least cool and refreshing; on the other hand, she's completely soaked, her dress now clinging to her form and her hair plastered over her skin. she doesn't get to see who splashed the water on her—honestly, does it even matter at this point—licking her lips instead and wrinkling her nose at its taste.

that's a weird taste, she thinks. but surely, it doesn't mean anything, right?

if there's anyone nearby though, she'll turn to them to check if they've also become a victim of the sneak attack. ] Are you all right?

[ shooting stars, huh.

lumine stares at the bag handed to her, puzzling quietly over this little task. she supposes that this isn't exactly the first time she's had to do something strange and almost impossible, but it's close. shooting stars are, after all, meteorites or debris from space entering the atmosphere and burning up; most of the time, they simply disintegrate, leaving nothing in their wake but a beautiful nightly display. but madame blackbird (or so that's what she's called) insists that they catch some, and all she has to do is harness her dreamotion energy.

all right then, if that's what she wants.

almost immediately, she sees one light the sky up, reminding her briefly of her travel with her twin brother, before she sprints towards the general location where it's about to fall. she spots someone already there, however, and she gives them a friendly wave, gesturing at the star. but even before she could say anything, the debris hurtles towards them like lightning. ]

Look out!

[ she quickly lifts an arm to block the sudden explosion of rock and soil when the star crashes into the ground, coughing through dust and smoke. a moment later, she's blinking mildly at the watermelon-shaped hole in the ground, narrowly missing the other person. ]

Right. I suppose that ... makes sense, given that it's a falling star.

[ being splashed in any form and manner was likely grounds for a swift execution. at least if it were back home. granted, back when he was in power, even the most minor lapses of judgement often led to a corpse or two. however, in light of his generous mood, he decides they would live another day, if just for his interest in this new land.

it's in this midst of this swift decision that he notices the inquiry of someone beside him. to be honest, he was normally the type to discount this type of directionless conversation, and at first it seems like he's about to ignore her completely. #rudeaf ] ... [ that is, until he detects something within her.

it was an unfamiliar power. it was the feeling he had when he glanced upon the empty vessel called the archdemon, or the holiness of the heir of covenant. or at least that's the vague impression he gets. ... or maybe it was in the liquid itself, which he only now realizes has a distinct flavor. ] How adorable. Would it be fair to state this was your plan? [ somehow, he may or may not be accusing her of trying to get his attention.

i. not as intended

( He doesn't have a problem with the journal itself. It's brown, quite similar to his own in binding and paper, and the quill isn't bad either. The disappearing aspect of it is fine, if he compares it to his own weapon. The problem is that he doesn't take a moment to stop and see that there are actively other posts going live in it, and that it's connected to a whole collection of other names. He simply opens it to the first page, finds it suitably blank just for him, and writes.

What he uses his journal for is findings. So, the below notes and following tally marks are visible: )

( Of course, when he does eventually stop in his walking around and prodding at everything, he will look back at his page and be surprised to find any text different from his own writings. So, replies won't be ignored! He'll just write up a few tally marks before he gets to them, is all. )

ii. don't talk me

( Shealtiel has a lot of anger inside of him. That may not be obvious from his small form at first glance, but spending even a few moments near him might reveal the tense way he stands, walks, looks around— even his interactions with others are stiff. It's clear that he has no idea how to properly make friends, let alone navigate in a society at all.

He calls humans by "it" openly, yells back if he's insulted, and scribbles angrily in his journal when he's at a loss for what to do. It means that discovering dreamotion abilities comes quickly. The floor cracks beneath his feet whenever he grows frustrated at his situation. Maybe someone just told him he looks too young to be traveling alone outside of town, or maybe an innocent animal guide is trying to speak insistently to him despite being ignored. Whatever the small slight is, the ground cracks, and he glances down with a curious blink before stepping away and scribbling a quick tally in his journal.

At this point, he notices that he has been noticed and frowns over at the stranger. )

What? Do you need something from me?

( Not the friendliest of greetings, but it is communication, so...? )

iii. exploring

a. tree of stories
( When he's had some time to cool off from waking up in such a strange situation, his exploration gets a little more productive. The tree is one of the first things he sees, and he doesn't shy away from stepping up to it. )

They're hanging from the branches...?

( He can be found inside and out of the tree, gently touching any book imaginable and pulling it out to take a look. Maybe it's something relevant to you? )

b. dreambucks

( And, finally, all of that hard work walking around is bound to leave an angel thirsty. ...Well, no. He's about the only angel out there that can tolerate human food, let alone enjoy it... But being used to it as he is, he finds himself interested in the smells of various fruits comming from this establishment.

He'd rather be eating food, but drinks are a good place to start. Raspberry lemonade! It's almost like his lemon candies, but even sweeter still, and in drink form! With this in mind, it's no surprise he downs it near instantly. Maybe it's the eager way of drinking it that has him wandering up to anyone near the Dreambucks, inside or out, that may look like they're on a mission. )

Where are you going?

( Innocent curiosity, but with an awkward sort of air to it... After all, you don't know him at all, and he's suddenly in your bubble, looking like he's ready to go, too. )

( ooc. information on him is available in his journal! as a note, he will have a noteable reaction to angels, demons and even humans, with demons and demon-adjacent characters receiving the strongest negative reactions. if you're okay with it, he's normally able to detect a demon from aura, and his own aura is angelic— but always feel free to let me know if you want to avoid anything! [ yes, epel has enjoyed a lovely drink of tea--- one that he wishes he could learn how to brew himself? but now's not the time for that. what he needs to do is... address this curious eyed young looking man. ]
