[Closed] So I said, "If you wake me up one more time..."
Who: Mammon & Satan
Which: Closed Log
Where: Their Treehouse
What: The Avatar of Greed's gonna get a good thumpin' if he keeps poking the Avatar of Wrath awake.
Warnings: None yet. Probably some violence eventually.
It's late afternoon, and Satan has spent most of the day on the couch catching up on some reading. The journal, his research notes -- material that is fairly interesting to him but nothing he's overly invested in. Even though he's put in a lot of work to get caught up on what's been going on the past month, he still feels like there's a lot he's missed.
On top of that, he hasn't been sleeping well. Satan had been understanding the first couple of times Mammon had poked him awake. Irritated, but understanding. He appreciated that Mammon was concerned for him but Satan really wished he could convince Mammon that he wasn't going to slip into another month-long sleep coma.
The lack of sleep -- or rather, the constant interruptions to his sleep -- have left him very tired. He can feel himself struggle to focus on the words on the page, and so rather than fight it, he figures he might as well take advantage of the fact Mammon isn't here. He doesn't know where Mammon is, but it's not here in the living room and so he hopes he can snag at least an hour long nap to help him recharge. Otherwise, making dinner is going to be a grueling chore.
So, he allows himself to flop back onto the couch and throw an arm over his eyes to block out that pesky sunlight he'll never get used to. It doesn't take long for him to doze off, just like it probably won't take long for Mammon to find him and interrupt his catnap.

You're never not on my mind
my mind
my mind— huh?
[ Mammon catches sight of Satan, relaxing on the couch in the living room. Someone normal would just let the poor boy sleep, but unfortunately a traumatized older brother is just not the normal type.
He walks into the living room and crouches down by the couch. ]
Satan...?

Satan....? Satan you sleepin?
[ As if that much wasn't already obvious. Mammon gently pokes Satan at first. Just a couple little pokes to see if it would rouse him a little. When that doesn't work. Mammon starts to poke a little harder. ]

For a brief moment, Satan hopes that if he just doesn't react that Mammon will just go away. He knows better, sure, but he hopes for it anyway. ]

Mammon starts poking him more and in different places. ]
Sataaaaaaaaaaaan. Waaaaaake uuuuupppppp!

I'm awake.
[ Mammon had better want or need something. Satan swears, if Mammon woke him up just for the sake of waking him up... ]
no subject
G-Geeze! You ain't gotta sound so angry, ya know!
[ he had every reason to be angry with Mammon. ]
no subject
Mammon....
[ With a groan, Satan sits up on the couch and sets his book off to the side. ]
What do you want?
[ Mammon better come up with a good answer. ]
no subject
I just... y-ya know. needed ta wake ya up a lil that's all.
no subject
Why?
[ LAST CHANCE. ]

[ Mammon ducts his head down low, whether it was out of fear or wanting to hide the emotions building up on his face was anyone's guess.]
Everytime I see you asleep... i panic. my chest tightens...
no subject
...Look. I get it. But you know, Belphie's slept for much longer periods of time. I know I can't control whether or not it happens again, but you're going to run me ragged if you don't let me rest.
no subject
[ He's being a huge pain in the ass, he knows he is. He's being stupid and selfish and Satan's the only one suffering for it. He knows this and yet... ]
I'm sorry, okay?
no subject
[ He frowns and runs a hand through his hair. ]
...I really made you worry, didn't I?
no subject
[ Mammon shakes his head, just making a noise instead. ]
Sorry... I'll stop.
no subject
I'm sorry I lost my temper, Mammon.
[ Granted, he'd have more of it if Mammon would let him sleep, but you know. ]
Wouldn't it be more reasonable to poke me awake if I'm oversleeping? You know, if I'm still in bed by 10am.

[ He knows it's stupid. He knows its so ridiculous and he knows he shouldn't keep disrupting Satan like this... He was just so worried and... lonely...
He frowns softly and scoots closer to the couch so he could lean his head against Satan's leg. ]
no subject
[ Satan immediately pats the empty spot next to him on the couch. ]
Come here.
no subject
[ He asks while still sliding up onto the couch anyway. He'd deserve it, but he'll still pout about it!!]
no subject
[ He gently reaches out to grip Mammon's shoulder instead. ]
I'm not heartless.

[ Mammon's cheeks heat up a little, being blatantly called out like this. His eyes darting off to the side of the room.]
I'm the second oldest. I gotta worry about you guys... Or I guess... it's prolly more honest to say I can't really help but worry about you guys.
