[07] move along, move along just to make it through
Who: Susato and anyone
Which: Open catch-all log for September + network option
Where: The Wild Harvest garden, but open to other locations.
What: Yujin Mikotoba has left Songerein.
Warnings: Will add if needed.
🌸 A. an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Sender: Susato Mikotoba
To: Everyone
Subject: Reverein's clinic
[ It's short, and to the point. Susato doesn't use the journal often to broadcast like this, but now that she is, she feels it prudent to be as direct as possible. ]
To whom it may concern:
For the past couple weeks, the Reverein communal clinic has been without a proper doctor to run it. If you are in need of aid, please be patient, as the volunteers are doing the very best they can.
If you have medical experience and would like to help, please let me know. Thank you.
Regards,
Susato Mikotoba
🌸 B. move along, move along, like i know you do.
[ Within the garden of the Wild Harvest, among the faint hissing of snakes and the lull of the waterfalls, Susato closes her journal and tucks away her pen. She takes a deep breath as she moves to stand from her favorite bench, and she walks with purpose into an area littered with stars that look like stepping stones upon the ground.
For a moment, she stops and simply stares. There it is. A blank star, waiting for a name. Perhaps it appeared some time ago. Perhaps she simply ignored it, but after digesting recent events, she has no time to wallow in the remaining stages of grief. He's not even dead, but she wonders if that doesn't make things worse.
Either way, she doesn't even need a pen. She slowly bends down, spending another moment feeling the rough surface of the starfish with her hand before she commits with her pointer finger.
The strokes appear in a glow, and the end result looks engraved. ]
御琴羽 悠仁
🌸 C. wild card.
[ If neither of these fit! ]
(( ooc: Feel free to write your own prompt/starter, or if you'd like me to write a personalized starter for you, hit me up at
yammdere or via PM!
Side note: I would love to incorporate Quest #902. Hug it out if you hit prompt B. uwu ))

Wildcard - Alastor is awkward at comforting people
harassask someone to translate for him confirmed it.][It's been a while since he's last chatted with the good doctor. A shame that opportunity isn't likely to come again.
At least losing people he was somewhat friendly with during the annual Cleanse isn't such a shocking turn of events.][He's not good at comforting others. He will be the first to admit to that. Honestly, he is the worst at it. However, there's one thing his upbringing has drilled into his head which is always a comfort: Whenever someone is upset, bring food.]
[Leaving more than enough behind for Angel to enjoy, Alastor sets out for Susato's treehouse with an almost comically-quaint picnic basket with a red-and-white checkered blanket protecting the contents: a large container of gumbo, about half a dozen buttermilk biscuits, a half dozen corn muffins, and a dozen beignets. All fresh and warm.]
[Gonna knock on her door in the afternoon and hope she's home.]
Miss Susato?
1/2
...can't stay in there forever.
no subject
Alastor?
[ There's a glance down at his picnic basket. He is lucky that Gina, and more specifically her pup Toby, aren't at home today. ]
no subject
Good afternoon, my dear! [He tips an imaginary hat to her.] Pardon the intrusion, but I thought I'd stop by with some extra goodies! A good gumbo deserves to be shared, after all!
[He's not sure if he should bring up what happened directly or not. Best to just play up the food angle for now.]
no subject
[ Susato glances behind her for a moment, but then shuts the door closed behind her as they remain outside. Best not to let Alastor see the state Mr Sholmes is in. ]
Thank you. I, I don't know what to say. You made everything in this basket for me?
[ Well, he did say it should be shared, but still... ]
no subject
[And given he looks like he'd weigh maybe fifty pounds soaking wet, that might be a bit hard to believe.]
But I did make the biscuits and cornbread fresh! Gumbo by itself? [He clicks his tongue.] Such a thing would be sacrilege! Mother would find her way here just to box my ears for such a slight!
[And going to wiggle those fluffy ears for emphasis.]
I wasn't sure if you preferred biscuits or cornbread, so I felt that perhaps both would satisfy. And, of course, a fresh batch of beignets as well! Always good to finish off something spicy with something sweet!
no subject
Her housemates. They'll truly be counting on her now. ]
Amazing. If I did not know any better, I would say you are trying to take my job.
[ Spoken in obvious jest. ]
Shall we have a picnic, then? I know of a spot by the lake that is rather scenic... That is, if it has not been taken by our capybara friends.
no subject
Perish the thought! I'd never dream of such a thing!
[His grin widens in response to her idea.]
That sounds just berries, my dear! It's lovely weather for a picnic!
[Honestly, he'd intended to deliver the food, provide an ear if she requested it, and then leave. Eating with her hadn't been what he'd anticipated, but, well, one rolled with the punches.]
no subject
...Please wait for her, Mr Sholmes. ]
Berries are... wonderful?
[ She doesn't get it.
Or does she? Oh. ]
no subject
[He's his typical boisterous self...perhaps a bit more so than usual to try and cheer her up. Because she's good fun to be around when she's smiling, no other reason.]
no subject
Well? Is there a blanket in there that we can use, or shall I grab one before we get too far?
no subject
[Might as well acknowledge the elephant in the room.]
I'd happily conjure such a thing, but this world's cut me off from such things. And I don't know where you keep your blankets to just summon one to us!
1/2
Ah well. That's well after either of their times, but perhaps one day. Susato sighs, stopping in her tracks. ]
Wait here.
no subject
If you don't mind, I think I'd like to save some of this food for Mr Sholmes as well.
no subject
[His grin softens a hair.]
The local culture where I grew up was that when something unfortunate happened to someone else, the neighbors brought over food to let them focus on other matters.
no subject
Ah. Then... you knew.
About father.
no subject
[Alasor adjusts the basket on his arm.]
For what it's worth, my dear, you have my condolences. I doubt it provides much comfort, but if what a former associate of mine said is true, he's waking up and presumably seeing your smiling face back at home.
no subject
Well, I suppose I don't know for sure. He could wake up here tomorrow, or next week. This world is still strange, even after all the time I've spent here.
But knowing that he's probably back on that steamship bound for our homeland is a comfort I plan to hold onto.
no subject
[Though for how long is anybody's guess. Yoshiya had come back but only briefly.]
no subject
Unfortunately for him, I am past the point of waiting hopefully by the window. If he does return, he shall receive a proper scolding.
Perhaps I will regale him, too, about all this wonderful food he wasn't able to try with me or his partner.
no subject
[It really is a nice day out. Not that that's surprising. Most days in Reverein are pleasant. Still, when you're used to a weather forecast of fire and brimstone, you tend to notice even consistently pleasant days.]
