I. Apple Picking

[ Do demons need apples? Normally Mikaela's answer would be a resounding "no" considering they tended to be bound to swords, living inside them and only interacting with their contractor. Becoming a demon opened up a lot of unknown ideas to him and while he technically only needs desires to feed on, it wouldn't hurt to get some money in this world.

So he sets out to the orchard with the intent to pick some and sell them later. Maybe turn them into some sort of food that would be easier to sell, since the orchard is basically handing apples out. Mikaela heads into the trees with an empty basket, intending to find a place where a lot of others aren't gathered. ]

This looks like a good spot. [ Time to get picking. ]

II. Cat-Bee Honey Harvest

[ Again, he isn't here for the chance to have any mead or even any of the honey for himself. For one, Mikaela isn't old enough to drink and two, he doesn't need it. Anything he can sell, though, that's of interest to him. The demon may also be curious what a cat-bee looks like, if they're cat-sized or bee-sized.

Which is how he finds himself knee-deep in flowers with plenty of these creatures flying around him. ]

Flying cats. Seems better than sentient fruits and vegetables, at least.

III. Exploring

[ Mikaela can be found just about everywhere, standing in front of buildings and looking at them with open curiosity. The vampires had their own idea of a city, but it wasn't like this one. They lived underground and didn't care for the humans that lived there, so most places were geared more towards their desires. Humans could get things, such as proper food, but no kid would open a business when they all struggled to just get by.

He hadn't been with the human army long enough to know if they'd had anything that resembled the old world. Even those humans living out in the wild lands all worked together to support the whole village.

Eight years ago, the world ended. This world isn't going to be without its own hardships, but it isn't an apocalyptic wasteland either. It would be nice if he and Yuu could stay here for a while. If their siblings would appear here, too. ]

IV. Songerein Wikki Archives

[ At some point, he can be found going into the archives to further his knowledge on this world. Gathering documents and taking a seat at one of the tables to go through them. He'll be there for hours on end, feel free to bother him. ]

[Louie figures that if he wants to really get a handle on dreamotion magic, the best start is to learn more about this place in general. So it's time to do research, as much as he hates how nerdy that is. He's not surprised to see anyone else with the same idea, either. There's a lot of nerds out there, that seems to be a universal constant. But if nothing else, nerds know how to find information! So Louie approaches the table Mika's settled at, once he's gathered some documents himself.]

Hey, mind if I sit here?

[ He'd be lying if Mikaela said he was a nerd, trying to read up on everything for a better understanding. If anything, he was more of a hands-on type, observing the people around him and then trying it for himself. A whole new world with a new set of rules is what brought him to the archives. Being prepared for whatever trouble is thrown at him, that's important.

Mikaela looks up from his reading to see... a duck. It's an unusual sight, but he doesn't stare too long. ]

Feel free. [ There's plenty of space. ] What brought you here?

Thanks. [Louie takes a seat across from the young man, with a little shrug.] Honestly, I just want to figure out some of the magic here. Get a better handle on it, you know?

[ He makes a small sound of acknowledgement at the thanks. ]

The dreamotion abilities. Turning dream and emotion energy into something else. I suppose that would be new to most people that end up here.

Is there an ability in particular that you're looking to learn? A shield, or an attack?

No, I'm actually having trouble keeping it in check, you know? [He glances up curiously.] Was it... Not new to you, when you got here? Do you have experience with this stuf?

That's not surprising. [ Suddenly having powers coming from emotions. ] Not entirely new. I recently gained the ability to turn desire into attacks and other abilities back home, so exerting that control over my other emotions was easy.

[ Yes good, more people should enjoy apple-picking. Unnamed doesn't understand the hype--he's taken a bite of one, only to spit it right back out--but other people seem to enjoy them ~~a lot more than devil peppers~~. So he's out there as well to pick as many as he can fit in his baskets (he's got two: one for each hand). Hopefully he can hand those out as an apology later.

For now though? He first catches scent, then sight of Mikaela as he sets up not too far off...which means he's totally going to go over and say hello. ]

Auh!

[ GREETINGS, BEAUTIFUL PERSON. ]

[ There are plenty of people out in the orchard, his heightened sense of hearing is picking up on them all. Mikaela attempts to ignore most of the conversations, focusing in only when there's the sound of moving closer to him. It's how he looks over at the individual coming closer to him before any actual sound is made. ]

Hello.

[ Does he understand or is that a standard greeting? Hard to say. ]

[ Either or, it is a response and it only encourages him. He offers Mikaela a big smile and points at the apples, then to his own basket, and then to Mikaela and himself in turn.

"We pick apples together?" is what he signs, already prepared with another means of communication in case the demon doesn't understand. ]

[ Oh boy, his greeting has only encouraged someone to try to stick around. Not exactly his plan, but he won't push the other guy away now.

He watches the hand signs, with a frown. ] I don't understand.

Ouh...

[ Plan 2: Activate. Unnamed grins as if he's been waiting for this moment...and produces two flashcards with words on them:

"Apple" "together"

How do you like THEM apples, he's got sight word cards. ]

[ Flashcards. So this guy knows he's speaking a language most others don't understand to be able to prepare words to show.

Mikaela hadn't really wanted company, so he hadn't sought it out. However, he can't stop people from picking apples around him. ]

Do as you like. [ He supposes he can hold a ladder while the other climbs up it or move baskets. ]

....

[ Oh, right. Just him using flashcards don't really help the whole 'other people talk' thing, do they? That's an easy enough fix! Unnamed waves his hand to get Mikaela's attention so he can hold the deck out to him, pointing.

And then pointing to his own ear and shaking his head. I can't hear, so please use the cards, he hopes to convey. ]
