DREAM FAIRE: PART 2 - DRAGONS

Early morning on the fourth day of the five day Dream Faire, something strange is spotted in the distant skies. At first most just think it's a large cloud or large beast flying in the distance, but as the vendors begin setting up for the day, the strange shadow has grown larger and closer. At this point there are reports from the Observatory that one of the large floating mountains usually spotted around the Outer Edge has flown towards the town at incredible speed. At first everyone is excited, thinking perhaps the mysterious residents there have come to join the fun.

Unfortunately, they would only be half right.

At around noon it's all thrown into chaos when the mountain appears directly overhead and thunderous roars rip through the skies as an army of dragons fly off from the mountain and descend down into the town. Though large, those familiar with dragons will notice that they are smaller and sleeker in stature, closer to the size of large wyverns. Without warning they start tearing apart the glittering jewels and gold that decorate the city—but others ignore the treasure to search frantically instead, overturning every wagon, crate, and smashing through doors and windows.

As chaos erupts throughout town, some fae and others who can understand the dragons make a startling revelation. The dragons are not here to just mindlessly destroy the town—they are there to take back their treasure and find their missing clutch of dragon eggs.


This is the second part of our double anniversary event! ICly, this log covers the fourth day of the Faire with the festival portion contained in its own log here. Part one is still active, so don't feel as if you cannot participate in the other log! For general information and to ask any questions, refer to the Dream Notes.

I. DRAGONS

As the word spreads, efforts to fight and repel the dragons lessen and attempts to help take their place. However, with lack of proper communication and the word of the truth spreading slowly, misunderstandings will crop up. Costume effects are still active, so some may find what they're wearing useful in handling the different problems around town.

A. Treasure Salvage. One of the main purposes the dragons are invading the town is to rip up the various gold, jewels, and other priceless relics and artifacts that had been used to decorate the town. Given their enraged state of mind, they're not being very "delicate" about it, but at the very least they haven't started to completely raze the town—yet. Many people will take up arms to try and defend their homes, but those who have heard what's going on can try to help convince people and remove the treasure to return to the dragons. Of course, there are others who are taking advantage of the chaos to try and steal some of that treasure for themselves. If they get caught, however, it won't bode well…

B. Dragon Minions. As a result of all the hostile emotions and desires for revenge, the dragons' magic seeps out via dreamotion and it's so strong that it's capable of influencing those around them. Those who are unable to withstand the overbearing weight of the dragons' rage will become corrupted and side with the dragons. There are no physical changes, just the mindset has changed to follow the orders of the dragons. Since it's not a deliberate spell, one only needs to knock out the "corrupted" individual to break them from the dragon's influence. However, they should be taken away as they will remain susceptible for some time and could be "corrupted" again.

C. Dragon Fights. It's inevitable that there would be those fighting against the dragons, and with many from different worlds and backgrounds with them, seasoned fighters are the first to grab their weapons to fight them off. Given the destructive nature of the dragons, self defense is needed as they get overzealous, especially when the various elemental flames go off. But attempts should still be made to try and calm and work with the dragons instead—and convincing the dragon fighters might be just as hard.

D. Dragon Eggs. What was once thought as ornament eggs, dragon eggs can be spotted rolling around through the streets and other random places such as trees, rooftops, wagons. While some are intact, others are starting to hatch with their little wings and legs poking out and helping their movement. And then there are the ones who have hatched completely. They are small and adorable, but they are a handful. They have very little control over their dreamotion and their powers, which specialize in one of the following elements: fire, ice, lightning, wind, earth, water. The hatchlings are trying to find some tasty jewels to eat, but they are also afraid of what's going on. Returning them to an older dragon will alleviate a lot of the stress from both young and old dragons, and giving a few small jewels or other treasures to the hatchling will help calm them down.

D. Catch Those Leprechauns! Some may recall that it was the leprechauns who not only endorsed and provided much of the treasure, but had asked for assistance in collecting treasure in a strange dreamscape (see Prompt Section III). It soon gets out that they are the ones who stole from the dragons and the dragons are quite keen to exact proper justice on them. Help chase and find these hiding thieves to bring them to the dragons, which will help appease them. Just beware, those leprechauns have magic of their own, such as hiding, deception magic, and conjuring illusions, and will also try to frame anyone as the culprits. They will also try to bribe others to help them, their ability to deceive and charm others is quite effective.

II. DRAGONNAPPED

While the dragons are focused on retrieving their treasure and missing dragon eggs, some dragons can't help old habits—kidnapping royalty. Whether it's a prince or princess, a few will take anyone who happens to catch their personal interest. It could be because of personality, appearance, or even scent. Once they find their special prize, the dragon will fly them away to their lair, which could be a cave high in the mountains or an old castle tower. Now there's a rescue mission on top of defending the town.

A. Escape Attempts. Not everyone wants to stay a damsel in distress. Although the dragons will leave them in their lairs, no one is bound and is free to move around.

1. Mirror Mirror. There are a lot of magic mirrors that connect between the various lairs and castles, allowing everyone to communicate through them freely. They might even happen to see fellow captives through the mirror's glass. Tall, wall length mirrors act as doorways, allowing individuals to travel from one area to the other. The catch is once it's used, it can't be used again. But it's better to work together than try and figure out a way alone, especially with everything like a huge maze.
   
   
2. Enemies Everywhere. Beware of other creatures that lurk nearby, from fire salamanders to various imps and large bats. Castles will have stone gargoyles that will come to life while the caves will have stone golems instead. They can all be defeated, but some may find themselves lacking suitable weapons. Fortunately, there is an abundance of magical artifacts and weapons at their disposal. While a bejeweled golden sword may be more decorative and actually useless, it's better than nothing! The creatures can also be distracted by throwing treasure their way. Bonus appearance: those corrupted by the dragons could appear here to guard.
   
   
3. Flying Steeds. The real question is, once they get out of the cave or castle, how do they get down and off the flying mountain? There are a few giant eagles and pegasus around, but taming or coaxing them won't be easy. It's not that they are wild in nature—in fact they are quite intelligent and will understand whatever is being said. They just don't want to get mixed up in whatever trouble is going on—these are dragons after all. Only those with the bravest of hearts will be able to approach…but feeding them their favorite foods could also work. Catch some rabbits or gather some golden apples and maybe they'll help out.

B. Brave Knights. For those determined to save the dragonnapped victims, help has arrived just in time! Appearing seemingly out of nowhere, several hot air balloons that look similar to the ones from Oz descend from the skies, a few flying monkeys waving in greeting. In addition, giant owls wearing gondolas fly in, ready to carry anyone who needs a lift. Giant Butterflies have also been enlisted, so there's no shortage of transportation up to the dragons' flying mountain. But it won't be easy. No matter which method they use, the winds around the floating mountain are strong and stormy, making it difficult to navigate through the skies. Having a partner to help use dreamotion to create more stable winds will help. Once there, the now dubbed "knights" have the following options in trying to save the dragonnapped.

1. Operation Stealth. Sneak in through a hidden entranceway. Those who are inside the lair or castle can help guide them through, especially if they toss down a mirror to help communicate. Unfortunately they can't cheat and use one of the mirrors from the outside, but once inside they can try to use the mirrors to make it out.
   
   
2. Persuasion. Should they encounter the dragon, it won't be happy. However, it might be possible to persuade the dragon that they're all on the same side and that everything was a mistake. Surely it would be better to have a dragon as an ally than an enemy?
   
   
3. Bribery. Maybe just talking isn't enough. If the knight happened to bring any treasure, dragon eggs, or a hatchling with them, this would be a great time to offer it up and score some big points.
   
   
4. Boss Fight. When all else fails and the dragon is determined to keep their prize, the only way out is to fight. However, although the dragon has the home field advantage, it's also its greatest weakness. Use of the treasure and artifacts will inflict more damage, and threatening to break anything has a strong chance to weaken the dragon until they give up. Bonus appearance: those corrupted by the dragons could appear here instead or to assist the dragon.

Dragons

Oh, for fuck's sake—

[Of course 76 had heard, and might have gotten what had gotten on a little later if it hadn't been for the large-horse-sized blue dragon that had skidded to a stop in front of him before he could take off. There was a hatchling held in her jaws, squeaking and wiggling a bit- but there was still some dazzling eggshell stuck to it as well.

Blue dropped the hatchling into 76's hands as the little thing sneeze a puff of flame, a wing lifting and sort of communicating to put the baby in he saddle bag. At least it was padded, he supposed.]

Let's see how many of the little fellas we can find then.

[Pulling himself up onto Blue's back, secure in the saddle and hatchling tucked safely, peering out of the bag with a trilling squeak.]

Treasure Salvage
[76 was keeping on dragon-back, Blue weaving in and out of the chaos on the streets with snarls and noise loud enough to drive other dragons back just enough to create space. A flare of feather-and-scaled wings and she either created more space or took to the air briefly, soaring over roof tops.

Whenever one's attention pulled? He moved had a hand moving down and flung a handful of golden chain and jewels into the air where it was most likely to catch light and glitter.]

Give me a hand here! They're after the treasure, not us!

Leprechaun Hunt/Toss
[One root of the problem had gone in to hiding- or some of them had, at least. Really, should have been more suspicious of things considering he'd noticed some of the residential creatures didn't seem to trust them nor the bank and it's gold they set up. Reason he'd kept to the barter system, personally.

Even when perched on Blue's back, letting her go after a scent—]

There you are.

[-given it was all the better for 76 to practically launch himself off and to the ground, slipping through shadows as he caught one of the leprechauns by the back of their coat and flung them skywards before they had a chance to retaliate

Don't run from a mess you helped cause!

[In which one of the diving dragons may have caught said leprechaun given the yelling and roar of Blue meant to draw said attention. She's the one that spoke fluent dragon, not him.]

Dragonnapped...???
[So, the fact he was still dressed as royalty, beast or no beast, meant that 76 had eventually caught the eye of a dragon that hadn't really cared to realize he'd been helping. All it took was a few minutes, letting Blue go off with a few saddlebags of hatchlings to identify the frantic parent to return them to.

At least she was able to catch up, going so far as to fly after the larger dragon that had snatched 76 up and dropped him off on a treasure pile.

Crown was ditched, and some of the golden decorations torn off with their jewels from clothing to just... leave behind. Make himself less tempting to grab up again. A few hatchlings still clung a bit to him, the man was annoyed but no worse for wear, 76 had gotten himself back on Blue's back as well. May as well take the ride while looking for a way out—]

Need a hand up?

[A literal hand held out in offer. Ever wanted to ride on the back of a dragon to escape a dragon's cave? Well, lucky-ish day.

Even if he may have looked a little comical with a hatchling preening at his hair clumsily. A little ash and soot smeared on cheeks from earlier hatchling-sitting. Rips here and there in clothing, no big. It was fine.

[Amidst the group that had been taken by the dragons, 76 will see a familiar face amidst the hoard of treasure. Roxas is in the middle of trying to climb over a pile of treasure when he sees 76 atop the blue dragon, and his eyes widen a bit in surprise.]

Woah..!

[Struggling over the shifting pile of treasure, Roxas hurries over to grab the man's hand.]

Yeah! Let's get outta here!

[I. Mildred, Queen of Dragons]

From the moment the shadows began to swallow the festival, all joy drained from her face. Something always had to ruin a fun time, be it something like rules against building body counts, a spoilsport or marauding monsters who decided they wanted a piece.

Oh, she'll give 'em a piece.

Ornate treasures though they were, she selected a pair of shortswords that dwarfed her and glitzed out in stones and gold. The glimmering artifacts caught the eye of covetous dragons who would be swiftly danced around by a creature barely 1/16th their size before she was like a buzzsaw, hacking off limbs and wings. Those dragons were smarter and chose to flee for their lives.

...They'd be helpful, too, if she could get one to cooperate. She had an idea.

She raced after a fleeing dragon missing a leg, grabbing a length of rope dotted in cheery flags. Using her blades as supports to make her way on up, she reached the shoulders-

With a bellow of frustration, a dragon in the square began to thrash and flail as best it could, joined by the whoop and holler of joy of a smaller voice. The flag-dotted rope made for a decent enough halter around the head of the beast, and after nearly fifteen minutes of yanking and wordless "negotiation", the beast soon turned and charged outward on its three good legs.

Should you be locked in combat with a dragon or menaced by a harassing beast of its ilk, you might see a rampaging dragon coming your way, bearing a very small, red-skinned rider...

"Yeeeee-HAW! Here comes the fuckin' cavalry!"

Need a rescue, or do you need a ride?


[II. Dethroned]

Alas, she was an imp. It wouldn't take too much to overwhelm her, and once her mount was ripped from her and in the resulting scuffle, she only had two hands, one tail for grabbing, and one set of teeth for biting. Though it took an impressive number of dragons in the melee, one quickly seized her and took off.

"MOXXIEEEEeeeeee...!"

Her breaths were high and rapid as she dug through the treasure in the lair, looking for something- anything- that can literally give her an edge here. But this dragon seemed to have enjoyed coins and scrolls more than any bejeweled sharp or at LEAST blunt object.

She messed up. She did that sometimes, but there wasn't the rest of the team to call in for backup! What do you do in whack-a-doo dream world when you can't even use the freaky magic here? She'd do fine if she could call a hundred knives or her precious axe.

She froze when she heard a sound, before she turned and hissed, eyes glowing gold. There was commotion from nearing the mouth of the cavern. With no other options, she filled both hands with gold coins. They won't do any real damage, but they could be a distraction if needed.

Della was actually trying not to engage as much combat as normal, hoping she could reunite the dragons with their eggs and smooth things over. But not every dragon was in the mood for hand-holding and kumbaya, which is how she found herself in this pickle. All the weapons were for fake fights and cosplay, how was she supposed to fight dragons like this?!

... Having a red-skinned babe flying to her aide would help!

Della stuck her pinkies into her mouth, emitting a high-pitched whistle. "HEY, TAXI! You givin' out free rides?!"

Trahearne | Guild Wars 2 | OTA

[ The beginning of the Season of the Scion found Trahearne awakening to a terrible nightmare about a certain dragon, which cemented in his mind that he needs to find a way to relax and find peace, lest the forces of nightmare take him. And he doesn't want that. In the beginning, it was relatively relaxing. The beach was uncomfortable, sure, but it was an overall positive experience. He made progress on a few personal projects that had been nagging him for a while, and things were looking up.

But then there was Oz. And then a good friend turned noctaere, and Trahearne almost died. And then the dreams started. Yet despite his deteriorating mental and emotional state, he was persevering. He was pushing through. He thought the faire would be a nice remedy, like the beach had been.

Except not.

Because now there are dragons.

As the vile creatures descend upon Reverein, Trahearne simply stands in his spot, staring up in dismay at them. Of all the things he had wished that would never appear or happen here, dragons topped that list.

He sighs.

What a way to end the Season of the Scion. ]


> DRAGON'S STAND (fighting dragons)

[ In Reverein, Trahearne is right in the thick of the battle against the dragons. Even when rumors of their willingness to bargain start to circulate, he doesn't budge. He's there. Because as far as his experience tells him, bargaining and trying to reason with a dragon is both stupid and extremely dangerous. The only way to calm a dragon down is to kill it.

One particularly large dragon, orange scales like brass in the light, begins to swoop towards the town, and Trahearne holds his torch at the ready. He grips with both hands, and in his rage, the flame burns bigger and hotter, until it seems to take the shape of a sword. ]

To me! [ He calls, his voice commanding anyone nearby to join in the effort. ] We will strike it down together!

> DRAGONFALL (dragon eggs)

[ Who cares if the dragon babies are cute? They're still dragons.

Having found one of the newly hatched dragons, Trahearne marches straight towards the little creature and grabs it by the throat, lifting it up to eye level. Its blue, crystalline scales sheen in the sunlight, and its wide yellow eyes peer at Trahearne curiously. It seems friendly, all things considering, but Trahearne is too deep in his quest for misguided vengeance that he really doesn't care.

He grips his scepter tightly, his intentions rather clear. His voice is unusually rude, smarmy. ]

Give me one reason why I should spare your life.

> DRAGONSTORM (dragon minions)

[ Where Trahearne is from, once made a dragon minion, a dragon minion for life (with some notable exceptions).

He can't help the fury and rage and frustration he feels when he realizes that these creatures are actually intelligent enough to turn dreamwalkers. The news is such a shock to him that he scarcely notices that these minions are not wholly corrupted in body. Only in mind--but mind is enough to do significant damage. He knows this from experience.

It's such a sore spot for him, and unresolved guilt and anger roils in him. For those he cannot prevent from turning, he'll do the one thing he knows will help.

And so, when he sees one who has turned, he will approach. ]

I'm sorry, my friend. [ With a flick of his scepter, the ground around him turns a sickly black and green, and minions made of cracked bone and rotting flesh coalesce on the blighted ground. ] I will be sure your end is swift and without suffering.

> DRAGON'S END (saving princesses (or not))

[ After a lot of fighting and crawling and flying and outright ignoring other dreamwalkers' friendly suggestions that perhaps talking with the dragons is a better choice, Trahearne has found himself in the heart of the dragon's territory. And where the princesses are kept.

He sees the dragon perched, overlooking its little domain and its treasure, and all else falls out of view. With a quick motion, he pulls torch and scepter from their spots on his hips; the torch flame burns a hot, glistering white, and the ground under the scepter bruises as he walks, summoning forth undead minions as he does.

He strides past the piles of coin, gold, treasure, ignoring it all--and that includes you, prince(ss). All he can think about is the dragon's death. Maybe he'll help. Once he's committed dragon genocide.

Hey! [In a flurry of white, Kazuma arrives ontop of a serpentine dragaon to intervene. They come to a halt before him, putting themselves between the other hatchlings Trahearne have yet to get to.]

Lower your weapon! [His hand rest on the hilt of his own blade, though he does not wish to draw it against Trahearne. His dragon companion showing teeth.]

Mirror Mirror

[ Mei, dressed up as a Cinderella-type princess, was stolen. Because she needed more things to stress over. She spent a good time crying herself out before trying to find a way out. When she finds one of the magic mirrors, she's hesitant to use it, but lightly touches it and calls out. ]

Hello...? Can anyone hear me? ... If you dragons can hear me, I promise I don't taste good! I'll just give you indigestion and then haunt you forever!

Enemies Everywhere

[ Eventually, Mei was able to find her way around... but of course there's enemies everywhere! All of the day's stress is building up, and she's not sure she can take anymore. As she's concerned by a very threatening gargoyle, tears stream down her face, but her expression is furious. ]

Are you kidding me right now?! I didn't even do anything to these dumb dragons! I just wanted to feel like a pretty princess! I JUST WANTED TO FEEL PRETTY!

[ All her anger explodes, almost literally - POOF! She's turned into her Red Panda Form! And in her anger, she lunges forward, intending to smash her attacker to bits and pieces! ]

[A robed figure approached from the distance. They were wearing a wizard's hat, with devilish horns, and a gait that bespeaks malevolent intent. Soon, he stands just in front of the mirror, his hat tips back, revealing...!]

Hey! It's okay, I don't think the dragons have hurt anyone that they've, er... kidnapped. But I'm Ralsei! It's good to meet you.

[Or maybe none of those things are true. The goat creature's bright smile left little room for suspicion. In spite of the circumstances, he seemed genuinely glad to meet you.]

Dragon Eggs

[ As a Mom, and especially one who had eggs, Della can see where the dragons are coming from. So while she's ready to fight if need be, she'd like to try and unite kids with parents if possible. But of course, nothing's ever that easy, especially when you've got rampant magical creatures running this way and that. Much as she'd like to just sing a lullaby and hold hands, that's not gunna cut it, especially when time is of the essence. ]

We've got to round up as many of these little guys as fast as possible! Grab whatever shiny jewels you can find, even if it looks fake!

[ She finds an upturned barrel that was once full of mead, and grabbing it by the top, she begins running around to try and toss in whatever baby dragons she can find! ]

Move, move, move! Come on, people, this is mythology 1010 - YOU DO NOT MESS WITH MONSTER MAMAS!

Persuasion

[ Della knows this is a risky move, but she has to take this chance. It worked on the moon, why not here? She's hiding behind a well-place boulder, and looks at the person who just so happens to be with her now. ]

Listen, this might sound nuts, but I wanna try talking to it. I'm a mom, I know what they're going through. If anyone stole my kids, I'd be very into super murder right then and there. So... do me a favor, and just... watch my back, okay?

Boss fight

[ But some dragons aren't in the mood to listen, and Della is ready to go! She backs up, ready to run and put a plan into action. Whoever is with her has only this to go on - ]

Time to put my Uncle's eccentricities to good use! I'll distract the dragon and try to find a good weapon at the same time - take aim while I've got their attention!

[ How does she plan to distract and deflect? By running right for the dragon's horde of coins and treasures... and literally diving into it as if it was water! She "swims" around it all, popping her head up on occasion to blow raspberries or look for weaponry. ]

Sword, sword, can't have an epic dragon fight without a legendary sword...!

( Asriel is attempting to collect as many eggs as his small arms can carry, but he nearly drops them when he hears Della's voice. Turning towards the source of it, he can't help but gasp. )

Mrs. Della? Is that really you?

( He didn't think he'd run into anyone he knew here! She was a good friend back in Avalon... How could he not feel happiness seeing her here? He has so much to ask her. ... Though, now might not be a good time. )

[Dragon Fights]

[Compelled by his costume or not, when there is danger, Ira usually moves in to help. He was considering what food stall to eat at, but that decision is going to have to made another time.

As a red dragon bears down on the stalls, Ira throws up a shield of wind, Aeroga combined with his dreamotion, to reflect the flames coming towards them.]

Run, now! I've got it from here!


[Operation Stealth]

Going in

[Ira stares up at the lair he's found, considering it from all angles. He's never really performed a rescue mission like this, so it's going to have to be approached carefully. It's a fortress looking lair with all the trapping of guards and other precautions, and inside, most likely twisting and turning hallways absolutely brimming with traps and other guards.

But a place like this must have more than one way in. Perhaps there's a well about.]

I'm going to do a check around the perimeter. Perhaps there's a corner left unguarded.

Operation Stealth

[ As much as Della is itching for a fight, even she knows when to stay calm and try to think clearly... Most of the time. She gives an impressed whistle at the layout, but then raises her eyebrows at Ira's suggestion. ]

Hang on, dude - last thing we need is to split up. We're in uncharted territory, so we should stick together. Consider me your shadow, 'cause I'm gunna tail you.

A. Lepreconned

[Needless to say, Gina was not pleased to learn that she had been fooled by those leprechauns! Here she was, having left her thieving ways behind them long ago, only for these gremlins to peddle around stolen treasures freely!

Dressed in some lightweight knight armor, Gina is on the warpath hunting down leprechauns to catch and hand over to the dragons! She has her dog Toby trying to track them by letting the dog sniff every coin and treasure they come across! But so far, they're not having any luck with their quest! Sighing, Gina droops her shoulders.]

Cor...! Why do them rotten green coves gotta be so stinkin' 'ard to find?! [A frustrated sigh.] C'mon Toby, let's keep at it...

[They could probably use another set of eyes to help them search. Perhaps the leprechauns are hiding closer than she thinks...?]

B. A New Eggventure

[In her search, Gina comes across something else that seizes her attention. An egg that's just... walking around! Of course, even while still mostly within the egg, its little wings and legs are a pretty big giveaway. Gina scurries after one of them.]

'Ey! You there! C'mon now, little one, quit yer scarpering and c'mon over to... uh... Auntie Gina! I'll take ya back to yer parents, quick as - whoa!

C. Don't Let the Dragon Drag On [Kidnapped]

[Gina doesn't know how or why it happened. But somehow, despite wearing the armor of a knight, she gave off something princess-like enough to be snatched up by a dragon. She was carried off to a dragon castle, kicking and screaming, where she was unceremoniously dumped into a pile of treasure. She groans as she comes back to her senses and... what happens next?

i. Fellow Captive: Gina's not alone. Someone else has been kidnapped. Time to figure out who it is... and an escape plan.

ii. In Another Castle: Gina's alone, but she manages to notice something after some examination. A mirror that shows something other than her expression... Gina manages to put it together and starts loudly talking to the mirror in hopes of getting the attention of whoever's on the other side. They may appear to be a fellow prisoner, but maybe they can work together to find a way out...

iii. My... Hero?: A would-be hero has come to the castle to save someone. But upon arrival, they find something lying outside the castle door, only a little cracked. It's a mirror, bearing the image of an angrily Englishwoman, who aggressively calls out for attention. "Oi! Look! Listen!" This is your companion for this castle trek, as well as the princess you're supposed to save...]

...All said, Link's identity is not really that secret, but his disguise is at least solid enough that he's managed to fool the dragons into carrying him off with the other princesses. He's quiet as he watches the dragon lumber away, and when its enormous tail is finally out of sight, he begins looking around the treasure pile. Seemingly unable to find what he's looking for, he looks at his fellow captive, and pulls a sword out from the back of his dress.]

[Thankfully, Childe is not one to lose his mind to such corruption, though he can feel it press onto his mind, trying to turn him. But what does happen is that the gleam in the Harbinger's eyes comes to life from the dead pool of blue that they usually are. There are so many people to fight now, ones who have succumbed to the dragon's will.

And what a splendid time it will be.

He is having the time of his life knocking out those he deems weaker as they fight for the dragons, catching one before they can grab a hold of you or whomever finds themselves being attacked.]

Careful, now!

[He says as he delivers a swift strike to them, causing them to fold and fall to the ground.

Alternatively, perhaps it's you that's succumbed- in that case, he's nothing but ready to put you down.]

C. Dragon Fights

Dragons!

His bow is drawn and he's ready to do battle with any and all dragons that come swooping down, firing hydro arrows at them. Thankfully he hasn't mastered a bow yet, so sometimes he misses.]

Oh? Here it comes, hahaha!

[One particular one tries to breathe on him and whoever else is around, with Childe quickly dodging it only to laugh manically and continues his assault. Feel free to try and stop him, or fight with him!]

1. Operation Stealth

[It's really not his bag to be sneaky, but he is very good at it when he needs to be. Since it seems that the only way he's going to be able to challenge the dragon himself is going to have to be sneaking in, Childe slips inside through an open window, finding himself in a smaller side room with a mirror.

As he approaches it, he sees someone on the other side-]

So, managed to get captured, huh? No need to worry. I'll be up there in no time to deal with that dragon.

[Alternatively, he's found someone else who's slipped in with him. He turns to them and grins- this'll be fun, he promises.]

If you're going to be rescuing someone too, you could join me if you'd like. I don't mind having company, but you can leave the battle to me.

4. Boss Fight

[Childe's blades snap into existence, bloodthirst raging in his eyes. This is what he came here for, for a good fight. The dragon stares him down, unwilling to give up its prisoner. But he's ready to slay it, showing no fear as he steps forward to challenge the dragon.]

Won't this be interesting? Can't remember the last time I faced a beast like this.

[Whether your character is fighting alongside him or being rescued, he's here to make sure all goes well- even if he's really only doing it for his own selfish means.]

[While Childe is having the time of his life Venti isn't too pleased with the outcome of this little situation. He can see the dragons struggling to get the upper hand and all the fighting and bloodshed makes him frown deeply. While the corruption and minions can be a problem... Was any of this necessary?

When Childe takes aim and knocks out yet another minion Venti turns around and watches with a sharp eye. In his arms seems to be one of the precious dragon eggs that is currently trying to hatch. It's warm and twitching erratically in Venti's gentle hold.]

My, you're a brute.

[Venti quips with a tilt of his head.]

A: They are after the decorations? We have to get them down then!

[Sakura exclaims once she understands what is going on. She doesn't think twice on summoning her staff, and then Flight to help her get around and take down the decorations. Or at least, the ones up higher that she can get to, hopefully before too much chaos ensues.]

Oh, Key that burns with the power of Dreams, reveal your true nature before me! Release!

[There's a slight eerie light that shines from a magic circle at her feet as she holds out her hands to her necklace, the star there growing, the bottom section lengthening as it extends to a staff, which she uses to activate Flight. Flight summons a large ribbon bow at her back as she takes flight.]

C: [Sakura might not have anything really offensive, short of using Gale. Or her sword from her outfit. She isn't sure either would do much though, against a dragon. But she does at least try to do what she can in distracting the creatures so that others could ensure that everyone was safe, was out of the way of anyone potentially getting hurt.]

D:

Oh, it's so small. Almost cute?

[Yes, she has found one of the eggs and was holding it to keep it safe, when it had hatched. She isn't. Quite sure what to do with it now? Probably give it back to the other dragons? They would know how to look after it? Right? She glances around, and up in the sky expectantly.]

What do I do now? I guess your parents will want you back....

[Cue Sakura's startled 'hoeeeeee???' as the creature, of course, breaths fire. And thus she creates Blaze here. Another card.]

A: Mirrors

Mirrors.....?

[Things were magic, here. She approaches the mirror, blinking when what she sees is not her own reflection but someone else. She pauses, confused and taking a moment. She tilts her head, thinking of the card back home. Mirror. This is strange. She isn't initially sure what to make of this. What is special about the mirrors? She wonders, as she reaches out to the glass.]

Oh my… I didn’t expect the eggs and baby dragons to be dragged into this mess too.

(Anya gasps in shock as she looks at some of the dragon eggs she just found. She had initially thought that the eggs were merely for decorations, it is just only now that she realized that the dragons are not only angry that their treasures were stolen, some of them are even parents to these eggs and hatchlings.

As she glances around to see who could help her in bringing the eggs back to their parents, she notices that Sakura is also dealing with one too.)

[Link has been cast in the fairly appropriate role of knight for the entirety of the faire. It's funny...these are his own clothes, more or less -- moreso than for many others, at least. And yet they feel uncomfortable and unfamiliar, something old that used to fit and now just feels strange. He misses the simplicity of his tunic, the flexibility and the quietness it offered, but he makes do nonetheless.

When the dragons descend upon the town, it doesn't matter anymore, anyway -- he has a job to do, and he does it well.]

i. dealing with dragons

a. [Most of said job has to do with protecting residents in the town. He's still equipped with sword and shield (though he misses his bow and the rest of his inventory), not to mention the several new techniques he's honing with dreamotion, and he puts them to good use as fights begin to break out.

It's the dragons who breathe elemental flames that seem to be the most dangerous, and if he sees one about to torch a hapless passer-by, he slides in front of them, shield drawn. It's not the real shield he's focusing on, though: as soon as the flame hits it, a barrier surrounds both him and the person he's protecting. He's found that thinking of the Champions has allowed him to use their abilities in new and different ways, and Daruk's Protection is proving to be quite useful in these moments.]

Are you hurt?

[If you're not, then it's time to figure out how to diffuse this fight.]

b. [All said, this whole event is right up Link's alley. At various times he can be found collecting treasure or dragon eggs to appease the creatures, and maybe even juggling a hatchling or two. He's also ready and willing to deal with dragon minions by knocking them out, though he'll try to reason with them first. These are just average people, after all, and he doesn't want to fight them unless absolutely necessary.]

ii. drag-on quest

a. [Everything changes when he realizes that princesses --specifically his Princess-- are being taken. Not that he wasn't taking this seriously before, he was, but now he's kicking himself for his oversight. It's too late to stop the dragons, and with a distinct lack of aerial travel nearby, he does what he does best. He improvises.

Those dressed as princesses/royals will find this Knight approaching with a small, businesslike nod of greeting.]

Hey. Switch clothes with me.

[Is he serious?????? I mean, he...looks like he is. Like. Really serious.]

b. [If a pretty costume and a sheer veil are enough to reasonably fool an entire town of fierce warriors back home, then they are certainly enough to fool a couple of cheesed-off dragons here...and indeed, they do. Along with a handful of others, Link finds himself in a captured group of princesses.

When their dragon finally leaves them alone in its lair, he reaches into the back of his dress and pulls out the Master Sword, safely tucked into its sheath. I don't understand how Wonder Woman did it, but Link has found it incredibly uncomfortable, and seems no small measure relieved as he finally draws the blade. He examines the group of princesses, first and foremost looking for Princess Zelda. But whether he finds her or not, he has a duty to his fellow captives.]

Shall we?

iii. the great escape

a. [Link has found that his princess disguise has several uses aside from getting kidnapped in the first place -- for one thing, the dragons don't look at him and immediately see a giant "Fight Me" beacon lighting up. So that's a perk. This means he can spend his time helping free kidnapped royalty, whether by distracting a dragon or lending a sword to their cause. He'll also be peering into magic mirrors, hoping to catch a glimpse of one particular Princess he's looking for.]

b. [The other thing he's helping out with quite a bit is boss fights, because...well, he's a video game character, you know how it is. Whether they're being chased by a dragon or surprised by one, Link spares no time in turning to fight -- and urging anyone who doesn't want to to get back or find cover. Will you stay and fight with him, or will you hoof it to safety while he distracts it? Or maybe you've got another idea?]

Dragon Eggs

[Link isn't the only one collecting dragon eggs. Toge had been helping out with collecting treasures to return them to the dragons, but had come across a small clutch of dragons in the process. They looked lost and confused, and so he had scooped up the three baby dragons to carry them to safety. He's quite a sight to see, two baby dragons in his hands and one curled around his neck and shoulders.]

[Seeing Link, Toge carefully lifts one of his hands as high as he can (which isn't very high when you're holding a pair of baby dragons) and calls out to get his attention.]

Salted cod roe. Tuna, tuna.

[It's... a weird way to get someone's attention, but it's not like Toge can sign or use his journal with his hands full.]

Eustace | Granblue Fantasy

[For this portion of the event, Eustace will be dressed like a prince and while he'll be around for a little bit for the first half, he's getting dragonnapped so most of his activity will be there.]

⊗ ic: defending dragons

[Eustace is no stranger when fighting against powerful creatures like dragons. However, the current situation does make things a bit more tense, especially when he's separated from Tifa and worrying about her.

1. For the Dragons. After learning about the real reason why the dragons are up in arms, Eustace tries to do what he can to help them as he believes the sooner they calm them down, the better. So if he sees someone attacking or trying to get a jump on a dragon, he'll pull out Flamek and fire a freezing blast of ice at the individual's feet, the dragon's, too, if it's within range.]

Knock it off! They're only hear for what's theirs. Let them have what they want and this will be over soon.

[2. Against the Dragons. However, sometimes the dragon is not so keen on working with them despite best attempts, and the only option left is to subdue it. Still, Eustace wants to aim to not hurting it if possible.]

Give me a clear shot—and I'll be able to stun it.

[Of course the egg he happened to almost trip over hatched. And of course it had to be a picky little baby that breathes ice.]

Red no...then...this one?

[BRAAAAAAH!!! At the sight of the emerald, the little hatchling wails and spits out ice blocks that crash through the nearby window, causing Eustace to flinch and try to turn the dragon around back to the small piles of gold and treasure it had apparently rolled out from.

...

Someone help him please so he can bring this back to an adult. Every time he tries to pull away it refuses so he's kind of stuck.]

[While Eustace fully intends to try and get out of this place on his own and with anyone else he might encounter, he quickly discovers he's in a much more dire situation.

1. Lost Ring.]

...The ring...!

[Should anyone happen to look through a mirror that gives a view of the treasure room he's in, they will find the Erune frantically digging and searching through the countless piles of gems and jewelry.]

Of all the places...dammit, not this one—!

[And in a fit of frustration he chucks the golden ring to the other side of the room. He's not trying to steal the dragon's treasure, though one could easily mistake it. No, he's trying to find the ring he plans to propose to Tifa with (again) and he will not leave this place until he finds it. And because of RP shenanigans, even after he finds it once he's apparently cursed as either through a fight or some random mishap it's either knocked out of his pocket or flat out stolen by something. So it is possible for him to lose this ring multiple times until he's finally out of here.

2. Sneaking Through. After finding his ring (because he really won't leave without it), Eustace will try to get out of the castle he's in. At least he has his weapon, but he would prefer not to cause too much attention. So he'll be doing his best to quietly and more stealthily sneak through, but if there's someone else in the castle or he happens to pass a mirror with someone having trouble, he'll stop to assist.

3. Flying Steeds. If he manages to get this far, Eustace will try to help "coax" some flying pegasus, thinking they might be easier to work with than the eagles. Plus picking golden apples from the orchard seems a lot easier.

Who knew the trees by him would so freaking high.]

...I could try using wind dreamotion, but it could risk damaging the apples. It's not too far, I could probably climb it.

[note: Any knight is welcome to try to rescue him, but just a side note, Tifa will be the one who ends up rescuing Eustace in the end. Shenanigans will happen that will make him stay at the castle (most likely his ring getting stolen from some imp lmfao).]

Eustace seems incredibly focused on finding something, so she just stares for a moment. ]

... Eustace? I'd say you seem lost, but it looks more like you lost something.

Zhongli || Genshin Impact || OTA

Dragon Fights
[It has been some time since Zhongli has been pitted against another dragon. A part of him feels a bit of a bitter nostalgia, of when he had fought against gods and demons alike in a war long-since passed. But though millennia had passed since those ancient battles, Zhongli remembers what it’s like to slip into a battle-ready mindset. His spear flashes as he wields it against the onslaught of dragons, with much more skill and dexterity then one might expect from him. Though he doesn’t enjoy senseless slaughter, he knows where to strike with a well-placed stab or a burst of Geo energy to send the dragons fleeing.]

[Should anyone be near his position and find a dragon bearing down upon them, they may be surprised when a dragon’s claws or fiery breath is deflected with a quick flash of magic, fragments of rock hovering within a shimmering shield of golden energy. The Geo shield won’t uphold damage for long, and shatters after a moment, but it will save from a fatal blow. Nearby, Zhongli calls out, eyes flashing as his hand remains outstretched.]

Keep your guard up! This is not an enemy to underestimate.

Dragon Minion
[Throughout all of the fighting, Zhongli does his best to uphold his position of defending the people from the draconic onslaught. But as the fighting continues, the potent emotion magic begins to seep into his bones with more effect than even he anticipated. He had begun learning the intricacies of the emotion magic of this world, but he hadn’t fully understood just how much it could affect a person.]

[It’s subtle, but eventually his breathing becomes more ragged, his grip on his spear loosening, and he pauses more and more to grip at his head as a terrible pounding forms in his skull. But eventually he rises, his gold eyes flashing dangerously as he surveys the fight once more.]

[This time, he casts a Geo shield not on one of the people he had been fighting alongside, but on one of the dragons. And if someone gets near to him, he instead gives them a cold look before twirling his spear, lunging in their direction.]

Dragon-napped - Enemies Everywhere
[Of those who are currently kidnapped by the dragons, they will no doubt see Zhongli walking amidst those creatures acting like jailers to those trapped within the lair. However, unlike the others kidnapped here, he walks freely among the imps and fire salamanders, his spear in hand as he slowly patrols like a soldier on active duty. His appearance has also changed, taking on a more draconic appearance, making him look right at home amidst the scaly monsters here.]

[If anyone tries to talk to him or get his attention, he sends them a hard-gazed stare, face and expression cold as stone. He may even brandish his weapon at them, or kick them to make them keep their distance.]

Know your place, human. The lords of this lair will be back to deal with you soon.

[The entire situation is a wound inside of Venti's heart. As a being with a dragon so close to his heart it hurts him to see the fighting and the onslaught of bloodshed. He knew from the moment he saw the dragons flying in the sky that there must be another explanation as to why they were so agitated. Stolen property, stolen dreams, stolen children- wouldn't anyone be upset about that?

It seems that Venti has refused to fight any of the dragons. And seeing that Venti himself is a sort of type of "royalty" in a sense the dragons have scooped him up and whisked him away to this little cage to be kept. For now.

It's not like Venti can't leave whenever he wants.]

Getting a little carried away, aren't we?

[Venti spots the old man wandering around like a guard. Those old dragon-like appendages making Venti stare at him quizzically.]

Toge Inumaki || Jujutsu Kaisen || OTA

Treasure Salvage
[If the dragons are looking for their treasure, it’s probably a good idea to give them back their treasure before they burn down the entire town. So Toge helps out where he can, going with people to try and convince others to give up any of their treasures back to the dragons.]

[The only problem, though, is Toge’s lack of communication ability. He does know a bit of sign language, but he’s still not really able to explain the situation to people, not unless he writes it down in his journal (and there really isn’t time for that right now). So instead, what does he do? He’ll just go in, grab the treasure he sees, and book it out of there. It’s not exactly the best, but it gets the job done.]

[Of course, this brazen strategy might draw the ire of a few of the attacking dragons, so it is very possible to see Toge running down the roads, an armful of treasure as a dragon chases him. He’s fast, but he might need a little help.]

Dragon Eggs
[Of the dragon treasures being collected, Toge has also been collecting the dragon eggs. They look fancy enough, and if anything belonged in a dragon’s hoard, it’s these decorative eggs. However, he hadn’t expected the decorative eggs to be… well, not exactly decorative.]

[He comes across a small nest of dragons, who look as confused as he does. But with all the fighting and chaos, Toge decides it’s better to act first before questioning things. So he’ll scoop up the baby dragons and head out, trying to figure out just what to do with them. He’ll be quite the sight to behold, with an armful of baby dragons in hand, a couple even nestling around his shoulders.]

Tuna, tuna!

[Anyone wanna help him out with this clutch?]

Dragon Fights
[With all this chaos going around, it’s not exactly easy to avoid the fighting, and eventually Toge finds himself in the conflict himself. His collar will be down as he runs through the fighting, using his Dreamotion Cursed Speech to bark out orders and commands at those nearby.]

Don’t move!!

[A dragon will be forced to heed his command and freeze, allowing those it was about to attack to flee.]

Blast away!!

[A dragon who hears this will be suddenly launched backwards, as if diverted by a strong gust of wind.]

Duck!!

[Though he doesn’t like it, he may have to use the command on those nearby, forcing them to duck and avoid the snapping jaws of a swooping dragon. Whatever is needed to help out in this crazy situation.]

Hey, get back here!

[Anyone who happens to be nearby may see Roxas running as fast as he can, Keyblades in hand as he chases one of the leprechauns down the road. The little guy is fast and crafty, ducking into alleys and even darting in between people’s legs in his attempt to avoid Roxas. Roxas is doing his best to keep up, but he’s panting heavily and looks up when he sees someone nearby.]

Stop that leprechaun!!

[Perhaps you see the leprechaun chase, or perhaps you’re in the path the leprechaun is taking. Are you willing to help Roxas catch the leprechaun?]

[Roxas is an able fighter, but even he can get overwhelmed by a dragon. As it stands, he is one of the ones who are captured by the dragons and brought to one of the castle-lairs, dropped off unceremoniously into one of the castle towers. He lets out an ‘oomph!’ as he’s left behind, but then looks up when he realizes he’s not the only one here.]

[Though he’s had a bit of a rough landing getting here, he will turn to those nearby, concern on his face.]

Hey, are you okay? If you're hurt, I know some healing magic that could help.

Escape Attempt
[Of course Roxas will jump at the opportunity to escape. When the plan is set and ready, he will turn to those nearby and beckon them to follow.]

Come on. I bet if we’re careful, we can get out of here.

[It’ll be tricky to get out, especially with all the guards everywhere, but Roxas isn’t one to sit and be idle if he can have a say in things. Perhaps he teams up with your character to avoid the enemies everywhere around them. Or, perhaps you see him through one of the mirrors and wish to coordinate an escape route with him. He’s willing to try anything to escape; if they’re careful, they can do it, right?]

Agh, out all of the days they have to go and pluck up random people from the ground. Didn’t they realize that just because I dress like a princess doesn’t mean I’m dragon bait?

(To say that Isabela is angry over being kidnapped by dragons and getting dumped into a tower would be an understatement. She was supposed to have a nice time at the faire, not being a dragon’s captive. The feeling of being locked inside is getting into her nerves, causing her to remember the years she has to deal with being a golden standard for her family, being someone she doesn’t want to be, and Abuela’s high expectations of her.

When she comes across one of the magical mirrors, the first thing she did is knocking on it and attempts to make a call to anyone who would care to listen to the already stressed out Madrigal.)

(Once Isabela managed to escape in one way or the other, she is already on her way out of the mostly abandoned castle. But as she is walking through the treasure room, gargoyles soon show up and attempt to block her. Big mistake on their part.)

At the Flower Festival, she’d gotten caught in one of those cages and was drained of her positive emotions, and now this…

Naturally, she’s also upset about people being hurt and in danger, plus she’s had her fair share of bad experiences and memories having to do with dragons, but— that doesn’t mean she can’t also be incredibly frustrated to be deprived of what she feels would have been a well-deserved break from everything as of late. ]

[ She slams the end of her staff down into the ground as a pillar of earth erupts from beneath the coin-covered ground, sending Ori up on something of a platform to bring her eye-level with the dragon. ]

I understand that you want your precious things back, but did you really have to hurt innocent people? If you let us go, maybe we can help you get your treasure and your eggs back—

[ Entirely unconvinced due to Ori’s low Persuasion skill, the dragon merely exhales through its snout in her direction, its breath frigid and icy; it makes her blood run cold. In response, Ori shakes her head and mutters under her breath, ]

[ Egg Quests ]

[ Yuma is somewhat familiar with the ways of dragons, though he's not quite as familiar with the treasure-hoarding types. After all, his experience with dragons is far different to these. Regardless, the moment the truth reaches his ears, he is all too eager to help them. Of all the times to be able to use his Dragon form, now would be perfect...but he can't seem to access it. Talk about being careful what you wish for...

Before long, Yuma can be found rounding up some dragon eggs, luckily most of them still unhatched and intact, making it easy for them to be delivered back to their rightful owners. He's definitely got his arms full, but some of the eggs are starting to shake a little bit. ]

Ah... W-Wait, hang on! Don't hatch yet!

[ He could use a bit of help here! ]


[ Dragon Dad ]

[ Well, this is a fine pickle.

While looking for eggs, Yuma stumbled upon one that had just finished hatching. The baby dragon, its scales a rich blue-violet, immediately took a liking to him and followed him around during his search for eggs. If nothing else, it made it easy to keep an eye on the little guy.

Yuma is currently searching in some rubble for some dragon treasure to return, while the hatchling perches on his shoulder and nibbles on his hair. He's doing his best to ignore it, but it's clear from his expression that he's still surprised by this development. As Yuma picks up a somewhat large jewel, wondering if it's yet another of the dragons' treasures, the hatchling leans forward and flicks its tongue out to lick it. ]

Erm... I take it you like this?

[ The young dragon responds by crawling down his arm and snatching the jewel out of his hand, swallowing it whole. Yuma blinks. ]

Oh... W-Well, I guess they won't mind too much if, uh... [ How does he even explain this? ]


[ Dragonnapped! ]

[ It's true indeed that no good deed goes unpunished. Even the host of the Shining Dragon himself (even if he is dormant now) can't escape this truth. It isn't long before Yuma ends up snatched up and flown away.

Luckily, he isn't entirely defenseless, and is quick to summon Vandelhorn - his two-handed-sword - to his side. It is perhaps the only but of the Dragon's power he's able to use reliably, but that doesn't mean he's eager to pick a fight. Really, he'd much rather just slip away with as little trouble as possible...but he won't turn a blind eye to anyone in need.

It doesn't take him too much effort to take down one of the gargoyles, but he's still a little winded from it. He turns around to you, quickly righting himself and dismissing his sword in a flash of light. ]

[ A voice is speaking, not to her, but the sound of it is catching Aerith’s attention. She plucks dirt and debris from a pile, brick dislodges itself and rolls down the steep, messy slope, making a clattering noise the whole long way. Crawling up unto the top of the pile, she moves quickly to find the source. She hears it speak again, and so she turns, rummages through the pile to find spots to find purchase on, and then pokes her head over the pile. Long, brown tendrils of brown hair cascade down, flowers decorating her head, as she does. ]

Hello?

[ She peeks. She stares. She tilts her head. ]

That’s one way to handle that… I guess!

[ Her cheerful little voice comes out like birdsong, and she swings her legs over to drop down next to him and his adoptive dragon child, sleeves billowing in the dusty wind. ]

Let this child clean up, and return them. That what you were thinking?

Treasure Salvaged

[ As soon as they were able to determine what the dragons were after, it's a race to get the decorations taken down as quickly as possible. Dorian does fortunately have a bit of luck convincing some of the townsfolk to return the treasure back to the dragons, and he does help with removing them from the houses. As he's he's helping down some of the treasure, though, he does spot some people trying to take the treasure for themselves. ]

...seriously? You think that's appropriate with all the dragons around?

Dragon Minions and Fights

[ With all the chaos and emotions running rampant, Dorian gets an idea. He isn't sure if it'll really work, especially because Calm Emotions isn't really one of his spells back home. But he figures it won't hurt to try anyway.

So he'll find a place somewhere in the center of all the chaos, and - hoping that the dragons will even be listening - starts to play a song on his lute, using whatever dreamotion energy that he's able to produce to try to calm as many people and dragons down as he can. ]

Operation Stealth

[ Once he'd managed to get one of the mirrors to communicate with, Dorian turns himself invisible to better sneak inside. Fortunately the mirror turns invisible with him, but he has to keep his voice down so they wouldn't get caught. ]

All right, I'm in. Now what?

[ Well this could certainly have gone better. Even though they hadn't been caught so far, there was a dragon just around the corner, blocking them from their exit.

But perhaps this isn't entirely hopeless. Some of the dragons back in town had seemed open to talking, so maybe they could try reasoning with these ones here? ]

[ Oriphi, meanwhile, has been trying to fight off both dragons and minions alike - as someone who's been mistaken for royalty in a finely-made and elegant dress that she's only been made to put on by eager townsfolk however, it seems that the dragons have taken some kind of liking to her and she's being actively pursued for abduction.

As she's running, she's assessing whether she should turn into a dragon, herself, or perhaps use Wild Shape to shift into something faster. But at the same time, she'd rather conserve that energy for what is feeling more and more like the inevitability of having to fight a dragon or three - that, and she'd rather focus on keeping others safe. The dragon chasing her seems to slow a bit, though, as if seemingly calmed for but a moment.

She sees Dorian and his lute in the middle of all this, and she calls out as she's running towards him: ]

Dorian—! Whatever you're doing, keep doing it!

[II. Dragonnapped]


The smell was probably the first thing that came to Loona's senses as she started to come round. "Oh, fuck me..."

Vomit, alcohol - extremely sweet smelling, schnapps? - smoke, and dank moisture so filthy it could only have been cultivated on the walls of the most neglected basement dive bars Loona could have imagined.

"Tee Gee Tee Gee Eye Eff is ov-" She went to rub her pounding temples to try and sooth the pounding headache and stopped when her arm bumped into an obstacle, daring squint one eye open and then the other to see why she had trouble moving.

She was in a barrel, contorted awkwardly with a pool of - what she hoped - was the remnants of the barrels previous contents at the bottom.

"Christ on a bike... did the sororities let out again or some shit...?" She grumbled, shuffling and rolling until she could try and leverage her weight some, having to pause to think a rather sobering thought that pushed its way past whatever hangover she was going to have weighing her down for the next week.

"Wait."

Pushed by a sudden urgency, anyone from the outside view would see the barrel among the many other haphazardly piled in the corner of the room as it moved, before bursting outward in a sudden rush of splinters to leave one very sorry looking hellhound standing there.

Loona quickly looked down at herself and groaned, grabbing her head, "Nope... still in this batshittery."

One look and she could see her former red riding hood costume that she had torn to bits, now even more damaged by a set of singe marks all over, in addition to the less savory stains from the partying beforehand. "...thought for a moment all the madness was... over...?"

She turned slowly, letting the surrounding area show itself, a vast and dark cavern with piles upon piles of treasures and spoils in every footspace all but merging into one, from gold and jewels in one pile to silverware and useless shiny gizmos in another to food and drink, including the pile of scorched barrels she had just emerged from.

"...I know I've woke up in weirder places..." she reflected slowly, reaching up to rub her head again, grimacing at the stickiness of her fur from the sweet-smelling stuff that still covered her, "...but this is getting fucking ridiculous..."

"..."

"...what did I even do last night?" She finally asked the emptiness of the cavern as she failed to find the missing reel of activities in her memory to fill what had happened to lead her here.

Dragon Fights

[ Seeing some of the fighters starting to pick up their weapons, Amy summons her hammer and is ready to join in on the fight. But she stays near the buildings, mostly to drive back any dragons that are coming too close to those who are trying to hide. ]

We need to try and hold off the dragons and get these people out of here! For anyone who can't fight, see if you can help get others to safety!

Dragon Eggs

[ When she hears about the dragon eggs, Amy is really ready to hit something with her hammer. Honestly, who thought it would be a good idea to steal from dragons?

Still, she pushes that aside for now as she hurries to help gather up the dragon eggs, doing her best to keep calm when she comes across any hatched dragons. ]

Hey, hey...Don't be afraid, it'll be all right. Let's get you back home, okay?

[ If she sees anyone nearby, she'll wave them over to help with a pile of dragon eggs she's found as she takes care of the baby dragon. ]

Mirror Mirror

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh. I really thought my days of getting kidnapped were behind me.

[ It's what she gets for dressing like a princess, she supposes. But she'll have to complain about that later. The most important thing is trying to find a way out of here.

So far she doesn't see anything useful in the room that she's in. Just a large mirror. But as she glances into the mirror, she realizes that she's not seeing her reflection. ]

Enemies Everywhere

[ Amy is thankful that she still has access to her Piko Piko hammer, which is especially handy in dealing with the enemies that they come across. Coming into a hallway filled with gargoyles, she grins a little and spins her hammer in her hand. ]

Perfect. I needed something to vent out my frustration.

[ And then she leaps into the air, swinging her hammer and bringing it down on the nearest gargoyle with a resounding CRACK that splits the stone. ]

It seemed like the most reasonable solution by a mile: If the dragons' wrath was spurred by the deceitful plundering of their treasure, then the treasure could simply be returned, and thus their wrath averted. And given that their wrath would surely take the form of conflagrant destruction, it should have been an easy sell.

It should have been.

"--yes, I-- no, ma'am, I don't know what it's like 'raising three cats in this economy', but compared to having to rebuild your house from a dragon attack, it's a small price to--"

Slam. Click. Another unsuccessful attept at bargaining. Another door slammed shut in his face.

His eye twitched. His hand twitched. Contrary to his line of work, he was not a violent imp by nature. But he did carry a weapon- if not several- on the inside of his coat. And maybe it's the warrior's attire sinking into his mindset, but on that doorstep, he was obviously starting to reach for it.

IE - Mime

It wasn't the first time his horns had proven an obstacle to removing headwear. But it was the first time someone had deliberately used to his disadvantage. A hit-and-run from one of those avaricious and deceitful little half-pints had left him with their distinctive green, leather-belted hat stuck on his head.

As it turned out, dragons were surprisingly good at picking it out from above. And it definitely didn't help that Moxxie had a passably similar height to one of them.

Suffice to say, that Leprechaun made its getaway-- and he now had two dragons chasing him down, his bright red complexion doing nothing to distinguish him from one of the little thieves-- at least when viewed from a dragon's eye view.

And so he sprinted at a clip through the town, kiting and dodging their attacks behind him as he went- hopefully not causing too much collateral damage in the process- hell-bent on finding that little green bastard and tossing him up to the mercy of the dragon's talons.

"Stop! Stop!! I'm not one of them!!"

Not that he wouldn't at least try to appeal to their gentler and more reasonable natures along the way, or struggle to get that green hat off his head every step of the way. Was this stupid thing enchanted?!

IIB - Fafner

When he disembarked from his flight onto the mouth of the dragon's lair, it was in a fallen knight's regalia. Under one arm was a sealed box he was expecting to forfeit; under the other, a sword he was hoping he might not have to use.

Sure, killing was in his job description. He knew when it had to be done. But... really, if one stepped back and looked at it, the dragons were kind of the victims here. And this was coming from someone who'd already been chased down and pelted with fireballs. ...Okay, maybe not all the dragons were blameless, but even so--

"O-kay."

He took a deep breath, unsheathed his sword, and pointed the tarnished steel into the dark of the cave. Time to pen the final chapter of this little fairy tale.

"Speak thine name and show thyself, be thee monster or thrall! I've come to... ...to..."

...the menacing black night entered into an uncertain shrug.

"...baaargain?"

Maybe the Black Knight didn't have to be a villain. Just like how a demon didn't have to be cruel. And maybe, just maybe, even a dragon didn't have to be a complete monster. Maybe this would be a little less like Siegfried and a little more like... uh... like... Dragonheart.

...wait, crumbs, didn't the dragon die in that one, too?

She casually strolled out into the open, as if this was just another Tuesday and not a life-threatening situation.

"I think you can ease up on the Shakespeare. They understand normal English just fine."

Not His Finest Moment - Pre-Minion

The dragons are right and did nothing wrong.

[Kaiba interjected into an impromptu gathering between concerned townspeople and dreamwalkers alike as they discussed how best to proceed to defend Reverein. His authoritative tone managed to draw much of the attention his way but it didn't have the effect he desired.]

What are you... don't point that at me!

[A few in the crowd circled him with weapons outstretched, as they tried to explain to him that they didn't want to hurt him but it was the dragons that were influencing his mind.]

Don't be ridiculous, I'm completely in control. You're the ones that stole from them.

[Unsurprisingly, this didn't do much to dissuade the mob. They were just certain that they were looking at one of the dragon minions right here, one that was bold enough to strut right into the middle of the action. Kaiba stood resolute where he was but his eyes flicked to the sides looking for the easiest escape route.]

Forget this, heh, you deserve what you get but you're not taking me down with you.

Dragonets, more like Dragons can you not? Pre-Minion

[During any situation that didn't directly involve either himself, his business, or something adjacent, Kaiba's usual MO was to stay out of it but this situation was .. a little different. It didn't take a genius to figure out that as long as the creatures weren't satisfied that the collateral damage would find a way to inconvenience him as well.

There was one other motivating factor, too.

D R A G O N S

It was no secret to anyone that truly knew Seto Kaiba that one of his obsessions centered around one very specific dragon. Sure, there were others he thought favorably on so long as they weren't staples in Joey Wheeler's deck but the Blue-Eyes White Dragon would always be his fav. That being said, he didn't see any harm in aiding the local species given the fierce loyalty and support he'd already been shown by one of their own.

As he moved around the town, sometimes having to climb to rooftops, or up trees he gathered up as many hatchlings as he could find, luring them with shiny baubles plucked off of that ridiculous costume he'd been saddled with. The trick seemed to work fairly well on the hungry newborns and soon he had a trail of the small beasties following along behind him. His expression was still determined and stony, even with the few brave souls that decided to ride either on his shoulders or the top of his head.]

Let's..... just... get this over with.

[Kaiba bellowed as he paced before the latest prisoner in the makeshift cage of stone and ice. Any sympathy he might have felt was replaced by his unshakeable loyalty towards his new dragon masters. In fact, he freely intended on capturing more prizes as a sign of his fealty.]

You're lucky that you aren't just a pile of cinders right now..

[Pausing before the cage he leaned in tantalizingly close, to continue his mocking]

I thought you would have been more of a challenge, my mistake.

[Then he drew back before said prisoner could really try to take a crack at him with whatever they had that might be able to be shoved through the bars.]

No one's coming for you so get comfortable.

(The tense moment between Kaiba and the collection of prisoners finds itself challenged by the jingling of little bells, several hanging off of a jester's hat. The rest of the outfit and the man wearing them slides into the scene - quite literally - and comes to a stop a few feet away from them.)

[ One moment, it was a peaceful faire. The crafts and festivities quite successfully kept Susato's mind occupied from recent happenings, but who could have guessed that they've somehow incurred the wrath of dragons?

One could hardly blame her for wanting protect this dreamy town she's come to love. What a betrayal it was then, to find out that the leprechauns, the very ones in charge of this so-called "bank," had been nothing more than thieves. Metallic layers of armor had formed over her comparatively plain chosen dress, resulting in something half way between a princess and a knight.

She moves hurriedly, eyes to the sky as her gaze follows those familiar Giant Butterflies--seeking a way up so that she might use her powers of persuasion on those who have taken prisoners.

Knights, huh...? ]

[ Susato stirs, and it still feels like all the wind is gone from her body. The last thing she remembers is trying to reason with one of the creatures, offer them help finding their eggs and taking back their treasure, if only they would spare the town. Actions speak louder than words however, and as she moves to dodge--to prove to the dragons that she would help--one catches her in its claws with a metallic clang against her armor, sending her straight into the wall.

Now she can feel a heavy weight against her stomach. Gravity pulls at her limbs, hanging like noodles, though she still doesn't know which way is up, or down. Her hair is everywhere, covering her face, in her mouth, and she has to spit some of it out.

She starts coughing, feeling a familiar presence as she is jostled about almost rhythmically. She has no idea how much time has passed since then. All she can see is the ground when she opens her eyes, and it appears to... move. Ever forward. One foot after another.

Footsteps. ]

Zelda | Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

[ OOC: Zelda has been dressed in her princess garb during the faire in honor of Reverein's one year anniversary, so naturally, she's a prime target for kidnapping. She will be armed with her trusty Sheikah Slate (and her less than trusty powers/dreamotion, so she won't be going down without a fight.) ]


I-B. Dragon Minions

In the chaos that engulfes the town after the first dragons swoop down from the sky, Zelda finds herself separated from Link, her trusty knight, who is almost always by her side. She tries to search for him, calling his name, but her voice is easily swallowed by the din.

Instead, she runs into a fellow dreamwalker (perhaps your dreamwalker), clutching their head in agony as the dragons' rage assaults their mind. Zelda immediately rushes to their side and places a hand on their shoulder. "Are you all right?! What's wrong?!"

Immediately, they lash out at the princess, throwing her to the ground with surprising strength. Zelda lets out a cry as she falls, but immediately scrambles upright again, her dress tearing in the process. She staggars back from the newly turned dragon minion until she's out of arms' reach, but doesn't run. Why are they lashing out? Are they somehow being controlled?

"Please, let me help you," Zelda pleads. She doesn't want to have to hurt this person.


I-D. Dragon Eggs

Knowing now what's going on, Zelda resolves to help the dragons acquire all of the eggs and treasure that have been stolen from them. There can be a peaceful solution to this problem. There doesn't need to be any fighting or destruction of the town the dreamwalkers have worked so hard to build. Armed with her Sheikah Slate and a large leather back, the princess is hunting down eggs. It feels rather like Easter—or it would if the Hylian princess had any concept of the holiday and if Easter was usually characterized by frantic, fearful egg hunts than cheerful ones.

Zelda's sack is filled not with treasure, but with dragon eggs. Animated costumes that were harrassing dreamwalkers just a couple days ago have been torn up and repurpased as nest lining to safely protect the eggs (whose shells are probably a lot stronger than they look). The eggs in her bag haven't hatched yet, but the bag is shaking with the unruly energy of baby dragons ready to be born.

No time for that now! Zelda is too busy chasing several half-hatched eggs who are trying to escape through the grass dangerously close to the riverbed. "Wait, stop! I'm not going to hurt you!"

Somehow, they're way faster than the princess. Zelda fumbles one-handedly with the Sheikah Slate until she manages to find the Rune she's looking for.

"Stasis!" Chains of light suddenly appear out of nowhere and snap around the eggs, freezing them into place. But that won't last long—there's an audible chime every second, the sound of a countdown...

III — Wildcarding It Up

[To say that Beatrix has no reservations would be incorrect. She is well aware of where Zelda’s feelings on her lie and it is almost enough to make her think that someone else would be more well-suited to taking care of Hyrule’s princess, however…

However.

The thing is, that often times the right thing to do is not the easiest thing to do. This isn’t the first time she’s considered this and it certainly won’t be the last. She can’t readily tell what state Zelda’s in. Conscious. In a position where she won’t be able to handle things on her own and it would be wickedly irresponsible for Beatrix not to step in.

The swoop of a dragon ensues and Beatrix jumps (just about quite literally) into action. Drawing up Save the Queen in one hand, her other raises and she’s just quick enough to make a barrier. It’s nothing grandiose. A simple reflect shield that will momentarily protect them both.]

Zelda, I am buying you time.

[Try not to be so proud that you refuse this.]

If you have difficulty making your way to safety, I will assist.

[Yet it seems her real intent is simply to act as bait for the dragon. Not because she doesn’t think Zelda can hold her own. She can. She’s certain of it. Only that sometimes, it’s perfectly fine to let someone else step in for a bit when it’s needed.

If only Beatrix could learn that lesson, too, instead of thinking she must do everything on her own.]

A. TREASURE SALVAGE

[ There’s a visible groan from one man and woman as Alisaie had incapacitated him with the blunt edge of her rapier momentarily. How crass can people be in the midst of panic? She wasn’t sure what was going on, but catching people take advantage of the panic while others were fighting for their lives didn't bode well with her.

Of course, she wasn’t going to leave them to be dragon food. She just wanted them to leave the treasures behind and get out of her sight. It might take them a few moments to recover. She certainly doesn't leave her defensive position for a moment. She turns to the next person she catches in line of sight and shouts orders as she rushes to the dropped treasures and gather them together to return to their rightful owners. ]

You! Help me grab those and return them to their owners or get those thieves out of here!

C. DRAGON FIGHTS

[ There’s a resounding sound of something being blown up and Alisaie is seen tossed backwards from its impact, back flipping and landing with a visible frown of disappointment. A side of her cheek at been grazed by one of the dragon’s attack. While, she wasn’t one to step away from a fight, she was doing her best to mediate the situation. Words weren’t always convincing when it came to her, but she was direct enough that she managed to reason with the enraged dragons. She even offered to assist them if they were to stop with their antics. No one needed to get hurt and things could be resolved with reason.

If the Final Days had taught her anything, it was this. She knows it may not always work, and things still happen, but at the moment, she's doing what she can.

However, an unfortunate civilian had gotten in the middle of that, and somehow aggravated the dragon. While trying to shield the defenseless person, she was put in a deadlock with the dragon, trying to fend off its. Not even a few seconds after landing herself, the larger dragon comes plummeting at her. She manages to push the civilian aside, before locking her rapier with its claws.

Mayhaps, someone with a bit more diplomacy could give her a hand in assisting the civilian to safety, or help her reason with the enraged dragon. What a way to remember her experiences in Eorzea, once more. ]

D. DRAGON EGGS

[ No matter where she is, Alisaie can’t escape crossing paths with dragons. In this case, small ornament eggs that now hatched tiny little baby dragons with dreamotion they can’t control. She spends a good chunk of time trying to guide them to safety and or trying to negotiate with the larger dragons. It’s becoming exhausting to speed around the festival streets, trying to reroute them.

There’s a considerable amount of damage everywhere, but she’s trying to contain it where she can. Maybe you’re helping with this and maybe you’re just minding your own business, but a voice calls out to you in the fray for assistance. Never mind her cloaked attire and some kind lightening like spell lighting up the area. ]

Hurry! Catch it before it hurts itself!

[ Or if someone tries to hurt the small creature. With the sound of her shouting, a small tiny, frazzled dragon nearly blows ice in your face as its tearing down the street in confusion as it tries to evade both Alisaie and you. ]

[Tifa isn't quite minding her own business—rather, she's minding the business of one of her own wayward dragons as it runs down the street without any regard for its or anyone else's safety. So, as Alisaie's tiny dragon trudges along, blasting ice this way and that, so too does Tifa's from the other direction. From further down the street, she'll see her trying to catch the small little creature as it scuffles just out of her reach every time she tries to make a grab for it, or it burps a fireball at her when she comes too close to doing so.

She hears Alisaie's voice calling out—to her, or someone else?—and regardless of who, she answers.]

I'm trying...!

[Assuming Alisaie means Tifa's. Little does she know, there is the icy dragon coming their way, but the fiery one is the first to notice and makes a loud, high-pitched BRAAAAAAHHH!!! at it before it picks up speed to meet it halfway.]

Ugh! Wait—! Don't just go running off like that!
