Well, I have been to another world before this one. [Doesn't that make him the expert between the three of them? He could see Fang outside the window, waiting with anticipation to be fed. At Gina mentioning Susato's food going cold, he slips his hand under her plate and decides to warm it up just a tad.]

Come back and eat first. I can write down the list while you do.

. . . [ Susato has lamented the fact that he's an expert on this. By now, she would follow him to any world, but for now, they'll just worry about this one. She smiles at both of their concern. ]

Well, I can open the window I suppose, and see if she'll eat it from the sill.

[ Not what she'd been planning, but it would negate the need to leave. She moves to do just that, with Fang sticking her nose in almost immediately. Susato will gently push back against her, laughing slightly until there's enough room for the bowl. ]

Maybe she'll want to be a detective, too. [ ...Maybe Fang can come with? If not, they can bribe her with more treats or presents.

Not long after, while Fang is distract with her meal, Susato washes her hands and finally joins them for hers. ]

So you know a thing or two about all these worlds, eh? [It's weird to imagine there being multiple worlds like this one! But it sounds like Kazuma's really gone through it. She's still not sure if she buys his thoughts about those books, though.

Gina stuffs her mouth with the last of her eggs while watching Susato deliver Fang's food through the window.]

There, now you're all good an' set to start your eatin'! [She chuckles at her comment though.] Think she'll be an assistant's assistant? I dunno I'm ready for me own apprentice yet though... Animals do got some good detectin' instincts though. ...They just only put it towards food.

Merely to just keep an open mind. [Kazuma, you should take your own lesson from time to time. Fang is hardly paying attention as she eats her breakfast. But since she likes being in the company of others, more than likely she'll come along to wherever the crew goes.]

The only thing Fang wants is to be able to be with us. At some point, I'll have to build a bigger doorway so she can come inside again.

[ Those sure do sound like wise words. Either way, there is some idle chatter about the door as the three of them eat, and probably a deep nostalgia considering what happened to the last one. It hadn't been the happiest of times, but putting their entrance back together was one of the first instances that they welcomed Mr Sholmes, as well as Gina and Toby, here to Reverein.

After they finish, Susato is sure to place all the dishes in the sink. There's more chatter after she insists on washing them, and eventually, they wind up with more mess, but several baskets of cute goodies for the Harvest. ]

[An open mind... She'll keep one of those alright. Open to finding more clues about Sholmes!

In any case, it's time for a lot of eating! And then working on sweets. Gina rolls up her sleeves for the task and ends up getting a lot on her, but ultimately she's victorious.]

Thanks! It takes a lot to put all that together wivout just eatin' it all meself! [She says with a cheery grin.] Now that's all squared away nicely.

[Someday he'll get Susato to relax and let him help out every once in the while. He'll task himself to help Gina prepare all the treats, ensuring she doesn't sneak a cookie away while no one's looking-]

Hold on. There's a cookie or two not accounted for. [He glances over to Gina and then Toby. Someone have some sticky fingers in the end?]

[ Haha, as if the three of them weren't taking nibbles where they could the whole time anyway. Today is not that day, because there is no relaxing. Susato is already tidying up after the three of them, though it sounds like Kazuma is doing a good job of looking after their product, at least. She looks up, glancing in their direction from the sink.

Outside the window, Fang seems to have taken a snooze while waiting for them. ]

Hm? There are? [ She softens, and her eyes fall in Toby in particular. Mostly she's concerned because of the chocolate chip in the Reaper's Toll cookies, but he seems to be as innocent and bright as ever. ] Hah. Perhaps Gina is teaching Inspector Toby how to dive.

[Gina shrugs her arms and shakes her head in a protest of innocence.]

I dunno wot you're goin' on about. The Chief Inspector don't need me 'elp wiv anytin' like that. 'E's a natural, 'e is. Sure, point yer fingers at the former diver and 'er dog! [Toby gives an innocent bark! At least if he had any, it was one of the chocolate free ones.]

[A long hum as he considers if it's worth fussing over a few missing cookies or not.]

I apologize. I mean no offense. [The two of them were just the most eager to eat the cookies.] There's still plenty for the restaurant, I suppose. [He proceeds to pick up both baskets.] I'll go ahead and leave them with 76. You should clean up for the time being.

[ Honestly, Gina probably picked up a thing or two from Inspector Toby rather than the other way around. Though Susato thinks that merely in jest, and she's willing to let the topic go when Kazuma does. She does hum thoughtfully though, nodding as she glances over them both. ]

Hm, alright. We'll finish tidying up here and meet you down there before we leave.

[ Susato... should probably get dressed properly. And do her hair and whatnot. ]

[One of those two might be glad that the questioning wasn't pressed further... in any case, it seems there's no harm, no foul on the missing cookie. So Gina smiles and nods along.]

Right then. We'll see ya soon enough. Get yourself ready for some investigatin' now! [She sees him off with a mild salute. Cleaning isn't her favorite activity, but she'll power through it. The cooking here does do wonders for inspiring her to do chores in turn!]

[Fang will certainly be thrilled to see someone leave the home.] Easy now. These are precious cookies that we can't lose.

[Fang chortles in response, but calms down eventually as she follows after him. Once the delivery has been made, Kazuma will wait outside the restaurant with a notepad of sorts in his hand. A list of places they were planning to hit up are written on it. Fang obediently sits down beside him, waiting.]

[ Susato can already see Kazuma from a distance as she makes her way down the ~~five million~~ steps. When she joins him, she'll be in her usual traditional attire, and her hair will be meticulously combed and done up in her usual hair loops. She gives a biiig stretch of her arms before approaching casually.

When she clears the final step, there's a glance back up in the direction she came to see if she can't spot that head of blonde. ]

Will the Harvest be alright without us?

[Gina isn't far behind. She soon makes her way down the stairs as well, dressed for the day in her usual outfit and adjusting her hat, while Toby trots down the steps beside her. She's now fully energized and ready to tackle this investigation.]

Alright then! Everyone all ready now? [She's raring to go! And trying to avoid any thoughts of potential disappointment.]

For a few hours, it'll be fine. 76 prepared us some sandwiches if we get hungry. [He looks up from the notes, holding up a bag with some sandwiches that had been prepared for them. He trust the crew can handle things until the lunch rush. ]

Where shall we start first, Detective? The home? [Fang's tail swishes about behind her. She has no idea what they're looking into, but she's ready to go wherever she's allowed.]

[ Oooh, sandwiches! Susato's face brightens, though it's much too soon to be thinking about that. Very thoughtful of him, though. Susato leans in a little closer while she waits for Gina's answer, peeking over Kazuma's shoulder.

The Mikotoba home definitely is the first place he'd written, but it sounds like Gina will be taking the lead. ]

[She eyes the sandwiches with a smile.]

That's real nice of 'im. I'll 'ave to thank 'im for that later! [It's only a matter of time until she gets hungry again and inhales one of those sandwiches. But first, they have work to do!]

Yeah, you got it right. That's our first stop! It's where 'e lived, after all. Another once-over there should tell for sure if there's any clues we mighta overlooked! For all we know, 'e coulda snuck on in after we left, even! There's plenty o' possibilities to look into, especially when we're dealing wiv Sholmes.

[Someone will probably need some sandwiches when the investigation concludes.]

Let's be off then. [With a nod, and a bark from Toby, they're on their way to the old Mikotoba home. It's been a while since he's been there, but he imagines not too much has changed since the recent departures. Just gloomier maybe.]

[ Gloomier, lonelier. When Eustace and Tifa walked her home that night, she lamented the fact that the lanterns were unlit. The house is so much less lived in nowadays, not at all helped by the fact that Susato had already been spending more time at the Harvest and Kazuma's home.

It is a quiet walk, at least from Susato. She doesn't know what they'll do if... when they don't find him, but as the house comes into view, she speaks. ]

...Let's start with the greenhouse.

[Gina just makes a little smalltalk along the walk back, quieting as they approach. It hasn't been that long since they moved, but it still feels odd returning to the house, now that it's empty and much less lived in. Almost like visiting a ghost of the past. But what she wants to find is the opposite of a ghost. Toby at least seems chipper to be on familiar grounds, while Gina frowns as she looks ahead. And she nods at Susato's suggestion.]

Good thinkin'. There's a good chance 'e mighta used it for sometin'. Let's 'ave ourselves a good butcher's over there then.

[He stays back slightly, just to give them a bit of space. He ponders for a moment if he should head inside and let the girls handle the greenhouse themselves.]

Do you want me to check the home while you two are investigating the greenhouse?

[ The fact that Kazuma is hanging back does not escape her notice. Susato, at least, won't let him fall too far behind, and she glances back at him at the question. ]

I can unlock it for you if you'd like, but we could always use another pair of eyes in there.

[ It's probably less efficient to stay together, but it's not like they are on a time limit. Plus, that sense of togetherness is... nice. It feels like home. ]

Lookin' to get yerself an early start there, eh 'Soggy? [She shrugs her shoulders and shakes her head while considering that.]

Sooze got a point. It'd be best to get it done like a team. We could still manage the greenhouse wivout you, but I'm gonna check out the 'ouse meself either way. I guess it don't make too much of a difference at the end of it, so long as everytin' gets checked out.

[They may not have a time limit, but Kazuma likes efficiency. He can sense the two of them would rather they all stick together though.]

I suppose, I don't exactly know what it is I should be looking out for anyway. [He doesn't know the detective as well as the two that actually lived with him.] I'll take a look in the Dawn flower section then.
