Who: Childe and Roxas (Closed)
Which: Closed Log
Where: Outside of Reverein
What: Fighting ofc and doin stuff after
Warnings: none for now
[Hydro and electro arc across this makeshift battlefield that they've created, as blades that hold the stars within them clash against ones that reflect the duality of light and shadow of their user. A heated battle of which both have pushed themselves to their limits. The only downside for the Harbinger is that this battle isn't to the death- he would have loved that more than anything. But that doesn't mean he isn't putting his best foot forward, parrying another one of Roxas's attacks and following with a counter of his own. This dance carries on, Childe's laughter ringing out with glee as he enjoys the fight.
He's tired, and he can feel his body starting to suffer from the duration of the transformation. But he still fights through his exhaustion, the thrill of this battle keeping his adrenaline pumping and feeding into his bloodlust for combat.
His opponent today is impressive indeed- not bad. He pushes Roxas away with the next strike, teleporting away to put distance between them to unleash the heavenly representation of the core of his being:]

[Childe is not an easy opponent. They had both taken their time to feel each other out at first, but now it seems that all bets are off, with Childe in his Foul Legacy Transformation and Roxas utilizing all of his powers of Light and Darkness at his disposal. He may not have been as big or muscular as Childe, but he's fast, able to keep up with the Harbinger with ease, and there's a heavy weight to each of his powerful strikes. Even if it was a spar, it was definitely a fight using all their strengths.]
[Roxas's eyes widen as he sees the enormous whale of water being launched at him, and he was briefly stunned with shock. But he recovers quickly, gritting his teeth and bringing his Keyblades up in front of him. Around him, a ring of narrow light pillars surround him, each crowned with the familiar Nobody symbol.]
Haah!!
[As the whale gets close, he unleashes a burst of light, the pillars spinning around him and outward as he casts Miracle Hour. The blast of light hits the whale head on, and the two attacks burst as they collide with each other.]

But it took a lot out of him, in an already drug out fight, to launch that at Roxas. His breathing is labored, as he can feel the stress of the transformation on his body. Childe's feet tap to the floor as he lowers himself back onto the ground, blades dissipating from his hands.]

[He stands firm, still ready to fight, still willing to test the edge of his limits. But he'll give Roxas the choice here.]

[But he also wouldn't mind it if they stopped either. He's sure he's injured in a few different places, and no doubt he'll get scolded for this later.]
no subject
I think that's a good idea. I could use a break.
[He could keep going, too, but a break would be good to catch their breath.]
no subject
He walks forward, looking very satisfied with how their bout went, a confident smile on his face as he joins Roxas.]
I knew I was in for a surprise, but you exceeded all my expectations. Not bad, if you ask me.
no subject
Thanks. You're not too bad yourself, you know.
[He knew Childe had said he was tough, but he hadn't anticipated how much. This was a spar, but he wonders how Childe would be like if he was actually out for blood.]
How are you feeling? I didn't hit you too hard, did I?
no subject
[Childe shoots Roxas a devilish grin, a kind of challenge for the future.]
Anyway, we'll leave that to our next bout...for now, I think I'd like to relax a bit. Getting to challenge someone else in combat from another world, with powers I've never faced before...it's given me food for thought. Did you too, have a master who taught you to fight like that?
no subject
Oh yeah? Says the one who had a hard time hitting me back!
[He says it with a light chuckle as well. But Childe's question has him blinking, rubbing the back of his head.]
Ah... not really. A lot of what I learned was self-taught, or things that I ended up... feeling with my heart, I guess.
[It's true that he has the ability to wield the Keyblade thanks to Sora, and has memories of Sora's prior battles. But his unique style of fighting, as well as his element of Light, is unique to him.]
What about you? Did you have anyone help you with your transformation?
no subject
My master taught me how to use the Foul Legacy Transformation. It's been so long since I've seen her; how marvelous it would be indeed if she were to join us here, somehow. You and I might be able to beat her if we fight her together...well, maybe.
[That's one thing he won't have a definitive opinion on.]
I have a lot to thank her for. And when I wake up from this long dream, I'll be teaching my little brother those same fighting techniques she imparted onto me.
no subject
She sounds like a great person, if she was able to train you so well. And pretty strong. I bet she'd be proud of you.
[Though, he does tilt his head briefly.]
Little brother..?
no subject
Oh, yes, I don't think I've mentioned it before. I have three younger siblings, Tonia, Anthon, and Teucer. They're great kids- though, I think they're still a bit younger than you. I'm sure you'd all get along great, though.
[He'd peg Roxas around sixteen or seventeen, for sure.]
no subject
[He means it, but there's something still confusing him. And after a brief moment, he'll speak up again.]
Siblings... so they're like your friends, right?
[He... vaguely knows the term, but doesn't really know the meaning.]
no subject
Haha...I suppose you could put it that way, to a degree. Though I would say the bonds of family far surpass those of just friends. They're very important to me; and where I come from, family is always first.
[Meanwhile, Childe is trying to figure out how to ask Roxas if he knows what siblings are without being rude.]
But let me ask you this; do Nobodies have anyone they would consider as a brother or sister?
no subject
Well, I was brought up to believe Nobodies didn't have hearts, and that we didn't have emotions. But, that turned out to be a lie.
[He says it fairly casually, even if it is said with a bit of melancholy. It's something that still stung, even if the wound is long-healed by now. Roxas brings a hand up to his heart.]
I guess I sort of knew the concept of a siblings, but I don't really... understand it. But I do have people who are very important to me. My friends and I share an unbreakable connection, even if we're worlds apart. One that can't be broken easily.
[He looks up at Childe, though he's got a curious look on his face.]
Is that... kind of the same thing?
no subject
It's exactly like that.
[Childe's response is earnest, and he gives Roxas a thoughtful smile.]
Siblings usually are born from the same parents, but in your case, siblings...or even just family at all, could be anyone who holds a special place in your heart. I guess I should of asked you who your family was instead of asking if it were possible for you to have siblings at all. You'll have to forgive me for that.
no subject
[He honestly doesn't take offence to Childe's words, especially with how he was an anomaly amongst anomalies. Though, he does pause to think for a moment as a thought strikes him.]
So, then... if family is who you're born from... would that make my family Sora?
[He pauses, and then, not knowing if Childe knows him or not, he clarifies.]
Sora's the person who's heart I come from. He's not who comes to mind first when you ask me who my friends are, but he's still important to me. He and I share our own unique bond. So, I guess he would be considered family for me?
[He considers for one more moment.]
But my friends are just as important to me. You can have friends as part of your family, right?
no subject
To answer your first question, you could consider Sora your family, even if the means to which he's become that is a little strange. However, to your second question; I personally don't know what it's like, but there are many who would consider their friends more akin to family, because it's all they've ever had- or perhaps they've lost their own family in one way or another.
[Which is sad to him, but that's the way the world works sometimes.]
It's hardly up to me to determine who's family to who; but it's important to support those who you hold close. If that's your friends for you, then I hope you've cherished the short amount of time you'll get to spend with them.
no subject
[But still, Childe's words make Roxas think for a moment. It's true his situation is bizarre, but thinking of it the way the taller man put it made sense. Sora would probably be the closest he has to 'family' in the way Childe knows it, and the way he talked about his own family made Roxas think of his friends. Axel, Xion, Hayner, Pence, Olette, Isa... He nods to himself, before looking up at Childe.]
I will. Our bond isn't as easily broken as you'd think. And it's not how often we see each other, but how often we think about each other. [Hayner's words come back to him, even if they were from that other Twilight Town.] I'll cherish all the time I have, and all my memories of them.
[But now a curious thought comes to Roxas's mind, and he gives Childe a look.]
So then, what's your family like?
no subject
[Tonia's about eleven or twelve...Roxas can't be that much older than her, he thinks. Childe taps his finger on his chin...what else could he say?]
When I'm home, I like to spend as much time with them as I can. Where I'm from, it's always cold so we've got the chance to go sledding or have snowball fights. And, sometimes I'll take them out ice fishing. It's an old hobby of mine, and I love to share that with them. It's too bad you can't meet them, well, at least not right now.
[Maybe one of them will show up here one day.]
no subject
They seem really nice. Who knows; maybe I'll be able to visit them sometime. I've travelled to a lot of different worlds before.
[He doesn't wanna rule out the possibility of visiting later on. There's a lot of worlds out there, and he has the means, so it could happen someday!]
Ice fishing? I've never done that. Is it fun?
no subject
You know, instead of telling you about ice fishing, you could just see for yourself and determine there if you think it's fun. The winter months will be upon us soon, so when the ice thickens, why don't we go instead.
[He's not sure if he's ever really had a fishing buddy outside of his family.]
I'll teach you how. Hmmm...I'll have to see if any stores in town sell any tackle...we'll need some if we're to go.
no subject
[At the offer, Roxas perks up. And the expression on his face is one more befitting of a curious teenager than that of the hardened fighter he was during his sparring.]
Sure! I think it'll be fun. Just tell me when and I'll be there!
no subject
When the first ice that's so thick that the water beneath lies undisturbed, is when we'll go. Not only is ice fishing a hobby of mine, but my entire village is known for it. So it will bring me great joy to share something that's so near and dear to my heart with others.
You haven't had much opportunity to explore the world, have you?
[Given the whole siblings thing and not really knowing about ice fishing, he has suspicions.]
no subject
[He gives Childe a curious look, tilting his head a bit.]
Well, I've been to a lot of worlds, if that's what you mean. But I never really stuck around for long, and was usually only there to fight Heartless.
no subject
Hah, doesn't sound like a bad life at all, when you put it like that. Why don't we go for a change of pace right now though.
[They've had time to rest, and he's got a great idea.]
Let me make something for you. A dish.
no subject
Well, it was all I knew. But I kinda prefer being able to do things that I want, rather than what I'm told.
[A bit of a rebel at heart. But he perks up at Childe's offer.]
A dish?
no subject
[He stands, stretching himself out. Gotta get those cold muscles moving again now.]
A little something from my homeland, to celebrate a battle well fought. What do you say?
no subject
Sort of like the icing on the cake, huh? Okay. I'm in!
[He's definitely down for trying new things!]
