On the very same evening that Eustace and… quite a group of men have departed on a camping trip, Oriphi has invited Tifa, Beatrix, Susato, and Kainé to her home for Tifa’s respective “bachelorette party.” It has taken quite a bit of research and discussion between Trahearne and Ori as to how exactly these things go; while Trahearne isn’t familiar with these sorts of customs, on Ori’s part it’s more of a lack of exposure to them. She’s only ever been part of one wedding her entire life, and it wasn’t quite like this. There were two bachelors, for one…

In any case, Ori and Diluc’s home is, predictably, very cozy and full of plants. There are various balloons and other such party decorations peppered throughout the house, but most of the activity will be taking place in the large common area. Once everyone has arrived, they begin the festivities with a nice, warm dinner and wine before they get around to the rest of their night!

On the dining table, Ori has set up a floral arrangement station on the large dining table for them to put together both their and Tifa’s bouquets and the other floral decorations needed for the wedding (to be kept fresh with the help of dreamotion) and various crafting supplies for any other little touches and decorations they might want to make for the ceremony or reception.

The coffee table in front of their couch, meanwhile, boasts a wide spread of desserts and cocktails, including macarons and banana boats. Their drinks for the evening are a specialty starry night cocktail which Diluc helped her create; and if they look closely, they would see little dreamotion stars twinkling in the liquid.

There are also created homemade spa treatments like face masks, lotions, and the like should any of them feel like some well-deserved self-care. Their light blue bridesmaid dresses hang nearby, ready for them to try on and have fun with before they’re properly worn for the ceremony, along with Tifa’s wedding dress! And finally, there are lots of pillows and cushions and blankets and bedrolls for each of them for when it's time to fall asleep, and the fireplace is going with a nice, cozy fire.

The evening is, for the most part, loose and entirely up to them, but what matters most is celebrating Tifa and her upcoming nuptials by having quality girl time!

[There's something oddly soothing about having someone else brushing her hair. Eustace does it often and it's always enough to relax her into a light sleep, but there's something different about having a female friend to do it. Mainly because growing up, Tifa was never close enough with the other girls in Nibelheim to do the "sleepover things" that she's heard they would do together. Braiding each other's hair, doing each other's nails, watching movies, pillow fights...

Jessie had been the only person to ever come close to that and even then, this would mark Tifa's very first sleepover. Ever.

And as Ori combs through her hair, brushing through the long, dark strands, she can feel herself relaxing and even dozing off a little... until Ori's voice snaps her back.]

Huh? Oh... I'm not sure yet.

[Embarrassed, she fidgets with the shorter hair in front of her face.]

Was thinking of wearing it down, but... I wonder if it would be nicer to do something else with it instead. Maybe some kind of updo?

[ Ori believes this would be the first girly sort of sleepover for... pretty much any of them in the house - and it's part of why she's pulled out so many stops to make sure that they would have plenty to do to relax and enjoy each other's company tonight. The closest that Ori has gotten are her younger days spent traveling with her sister, before they became mercenaries. Back then, Ori would find herself brushing Valphi's hair much in the same way that she brushes Tifa's, now.

The tiefling chuckles softly upon realizing that Tifa had begun to doze off a little. She's glad if she can provide the bride-to-be with the kind of atmosphere in which she can truly wind down and rest, bachelorette party or no. Tifa is always welcome in this home, for any reason at all. ]

Hmm... It'll be quite cold out, won't it? Perhaps wearing it down will help you stay a little bit warm, but we can always do some braids on the upper half of your hair and weave flowers in to make it look pretty! I saw people do those sorts of hairstyles during the Flower Festival and the Dream Faire, too.

[Her head turns slightly to peek at Ori over her shoulder.]

Really...? Do you think that would look okay on me?

[She's done braids and ponytails, and of course the simple tie around the end to keep it all out of the way, but nothing quite as extravagant as a braided half-updo!

Tifa spins back to face forward again when she feels a flush lightly powdering her cheeks.]

Eustace likes it down, so that could be nice? ... With some waves, maybe?

[ Ah... Tifa is so sweet, Ori can't help but want to make sure she feels so special and beautiful on her big day coming up! The tiefling nods enthusiastically, and as she finishes brushing through Tifa's hair, she starts to section hair off to be braided. ]

You've got it. Let's see what we can do... I'm not sure how to do waves, though. Maybe with dreamotion?

[ or a ye olde fantasy curling iron??? ]

[Do curling irons even exist in this place? She has no idea. She wonders if dreamotion would work—maybe she could heat something up and do it that way? Form a curling iron of her own? Though... if she's working on her own hair...]

Maybe let's just skip the waves for now. We'll just pretend they're there.

[It's something to experiment with, and maybe ask around town to see if there's anything that would be able to do it without having to risk her hair catching fire.....]

How do you think you'll be doing yours?

[ Though Tifa can’t exactly see her, positioned as they are, Ori nods in agreement. ]

Right! We have some to look into what people might have to offer in town, too. I’m sure someone’s got a solution for us! Though, ah… I haven’t given much thought about how I’m going to look, to be honest!

[ She’s been so focused on planning this party and helping with anything else for the big day..! ]

[Tifa wants her bridesmaids to look as beautiful as the bride on her special day!!! For a moment, Tifa forgets that Ori is in the middle of working with her hair that she accidentally snaps her head around to look at her.]

Well, you should!

[It's offered playfully and with a smile before she's turning back to face forward again, a light flush colouring her cheeks.]

I wonder if we should all have similar styles? To match?

Oh!

[ Tifa’s sudden movement surprises Ori a bit, causing her to nearly let go of the sections, but have no fear! She manages to keep them neatly even despite that; no harm is done to Tifa’s scalp, and Ori offers a chuckle in response to her enthusiasm. It’s so lovely to see Tifa getting excited about her big day like this, when Ori knows she must be feeling all sorts of other ways about it all, too, just given what it’s taken for her and Eustace to arrive at this point. ]

Heh… We could try to do something like that. Maybe we could all have flowers in our hair, but with you having the fullest flower crown of all!

[Tifa bites down on her lower lip, stopping the wider, brighter spread of her smile as if Ori can see it.]

... You know, that might actually work. Eustace and I had an idea along the same lines.

[She tries to recall exactly what he had said the night they talked about it, and how she plans to incorporate that into the entire wedding itself, rather than something that's just for her. It's a bit tough with a couple drinks already in her, but she'll manage!]

We were thinking of doing something with flower crowns, both for the bride and all the other girls at the wedding.

[For some reason, talking about herself as the bride is a little stranger, so she skirts around it.]

Something like... each girl braids a flower into a crown for the bride to wear, and then they can make their own to give to their loved ones. Or to the boys they like. Vice-versa, too. The men can do the same if they want!

…

[ There’s a soft gasp for Ori’s part as her hands still, holding sections of Tifa’s hair gingerly. It’s likely a blessing that they can’t really see each other’s facial expressions; the tiefling’s lips are quivering and her eyes sting with emotion at the concept Tifa puts out for consideration, utterly moved by the sentiment and feeling honored that she gets to be part of all of this… ]

That’s so… thoughtful, Tifa… I think it's a wonderful idea!

[ If her voice sounds a little shaky, no it doesn’t! ]

[She hears that quiver in Ori's voice, feels her still from behind, but she pays it no further attention besides the warm smile she wears as she stares down at her drink that she's set aside.]

Eustace told me it was a tradition from his own village... so we decided to incorporate a few. One from his, mine, and then a couple others from people we heard about.

[To turn it into their traditions, or rather, giving Reverein some that they can use should anyone else want to tie the knot here.]

As a bridesmaid, I'll be expecting a ton of flowers from you, though! The pressure's on.

[She's kidding.]

[ Ori continues to feel as if her heart is melting at the thought of these traditions being shared and coming together for their wonderful, special day. And like Tifa, she spares a thought for how, in a way, they are all forging the tradition for Reverein together… Should anyone else wish to pledge their life and love to someone in this dream realm……… ]

Ah… I see. Then it will be a special time, for this place only. Because nowhere else would so many traditions from different worlds be possible, hm?

[ She starts to card her fingers through Tifa’s hair again, this time to earnestly begin braiding one of the sections she’s separated. ]

And as for the flowers… Ehe, I’ll do my best! I think Miss Isabela is having a hand in the flowers, too, but honestly I think I’ll end up creating more than I would mean to because of my dreamotion, anyway…

[ She already knows she’s going to be so very emotional through this whole thing. ]

I had a feeling. Might end up being the same for me.

[She hums quietly and contentedly to herself at the feeling of Ori's fingers combing through her hair, and there's a pause as Tifa closes her eyes.]

Might not even have room for anyone else's flowers, to be honest. I think I'll need to get a second veil, just in case. Or get people to pin them to my dress.

Maybe there can be someplace for people to leave flowers at...?

[ Wait, no... that sounds like something that would happen at a funeral... ]

...Mmm, or maybe not. I think we'll just have to accept that flowers and all sorts of dreamotion effects might be going off everywhere, huh?

I guess so. If I have too much, I might just need to come running to you for help at the reception.

[Tifa raises a brow, although Ori can't see it, but she can probably pick up on the teasing sing-song of her voice.]

Unless you think you'll just make it worse by making flowers sprout in my hair instead?

[Not that it would be a problem!!!!]
