closed đ tifa's slumber party
Who: Tifa, Ori, Beatrix, Susato, and Kainé
Which: Closed log
Where: Ori's house
What: Tifa's bachelorette slumber party! it's gonna be way cuter than eustace's stupid party boys are stinky xo
Warnings: Alcohol consumption, hot goss
On the very same evening that Eustace and⊠quite a group of men have departed on a camping trip, Oriphi has invited Tifa, Beatrix, Susato, and KainĂ© to her home for Tifaâs respective âbachelorette party.â It has taken quite a bit of research and discussion between Trahearne and Ori as to how exactly these things go; while Trahearne isnât familiar with these sorts of customs, on Oriâs part itâs more of a lack of exposure to them. Sheâs only ever been part of one wedding her entire life, and it wasnât quite like this. There were two bachelors, for oneâŠ
In any case, Ori and Dilucâs home is, predictably, very cozy and full of plants. There are various balloons and other such party decorations peppered throughout the house, but most of the activity will be taking place in the large common area. Once everyone has arrived, they begin the festivities with a nice, warm dinner and wine before they get around to the rest of their night!
On the dining table, Ori has set up a floral arrangement station on the large dining table for them to put together both their and Tifaâs bouquets and the other floral decorations needed for the wedding (to be kept fresh with the help of dreamotion) and various crafting supplies for any other little touches and decorations they might want to make for the ceremony or reception.
The coffee table in front of their couch, meanwhile, boasts a wide spread of desserts and cocktails, including macarons and banana boats. Their drinks for the evening are a specialty starry night cocktail which Diluc helped her create; and if they look closely, they would see little dreamotion stars twinkling in the liquid.
There are also created homemade spa treatments like face masks, lotions, and the like should any of them feel like some well-deserved self-care. Their light blue bridesmaid dresses hang nearby, ready for them to try on and have fun with before theyâre properly worn for the ceremony, along with Tifaâs wedding dress! And finally, there are lots of pillows and cushions and blankets and bedrolls for each of them for when it's time to fall asleep, and the fireplace is going with a nice, cozy fire.
The evening is, for the most part, loose and entirely up to them, but what matters most is celebrating Tifa and her upcoming nuptials by having quality girl time!

+1 General Starter (Get it. Because she's a general, too. This means two things.)
She's practically glued to the cocktails, though they're a touch sweet for her very bitter tastes, and it still seems like the best way to help her get through things without saying the wrong thing. She's brought her various accoutrements, though travels very simply, it seems and stashes it all neatly away in a corner where [hopefully] it'll remain undisturbed.
She spends a significant amount of time examining the dresses, the floral decor, and the food. It's an oddly comfortable experience, though not the kind she's ever pictured herself being a part of.]
I understood the joke!!
Having shared wine with Beatrix on quite a few occasions by now, Ori realizes that the cocktails may not be quite her style⊠But itâs times like these when itâs really quite convenient to be living with a professional wine-maker, so at some point into the evening, the tiefling approaches the General as sheâs regarding the dresses with an already-uncorked bottle of wine and a fresh, new glass. ]
Oh⊠I was going to ask if youâd like to try this wine, but now Iâm wondering if youâd like to try on your dress, too!
no subject
Beatrix just about starts when the tiefling addresses her. Wherever her thoughts have wandered to has evidently been somewhere very deep, which is not exactly a surprise when it comes to her. She looks over to Oriphi and for a moment, exchanges her gaze between uncorked bottle of wine and the dress.
It's not hard to figure out which one she's more comfortable with.]
I get the feeling you are the one who would be more interested in seeing me in my dress. I suppose I should try it on. Just to make certain that it fits.
[...Because she understands that some of the members of the bridal party may have some tricky assets to work with.]
no subject
Thatâs not true, Iâm sure everyone here wants to see you in the dress! In fact, I think we should all make sure they fit.
[ A beat, as she blinks with a thoughtful expression. ]
On that note, I should probably try mine on, tooâŠ
[ Her tail swishes back and forth, as if to punctuate that particular musing. ]
no subject
[Oriphiâs probably not wrong. Beatrix so rarely wears anything but her normal wear that anyone who knows her would probably double take at her in anything outside of the duster ensemble. She hasnât been thrilled about the dress thing from the beginning, but for the sake of the occasion, she is begrudgingly willing to put that aside.]
Are you implying that none of us have tried any of this on? The wedding is going to be soon. This outfitting should have happened much sooner. Make certain that everyone tries theirs and ensures the fits are appropriate.
[Says Beatrix, clearly a bridezilla in training.]
no subject
Ah—! I know that measurements were taken, but like I said⊠We should make sure, yes?
[ Gingerly, she reaches up to grab the hanger on which Beatrixâs dress hangs. ]
You can use our bedroom or the bath to change! Iâll try mine on, too!
no subject
Well, you ought to take your bedroom. I will make use of your bath. We can meet back here. And if we are satisfied, then we can have wine.
[Clearly a reward for a job well done. Beatrix tilts her head thoughtfully and she reaches over to take the hanger and her dress from Oriphi.]
Does that sound agreeable to you?
no subject
That sounds perfect to me, Beatrix. A wonderful idea!
[ She'll go ahead and take her dress off of the wall, too, before ushering Beatrix towards the bath. ]
It's just behind this door. The bedroom is just a bit further down the hall. Just let me know if you need any assistance, okay?
no subject
She canât very well wear it at a wedding, though. And sheâs going to have to go out in public in it, too. At least at the masquerade and the flower festival, she was able to hide herself away. Part of being in the bridal party means people actually looking at her. Although honestly, during the ceremony, itâll be fine because all of the eyes will be on Tifa and Eustace.
At least thatâs where they ought to be.
Itâs a careful, painstaking time she takes to change her apparel, trying to make sure it sits properly in all of the right places. That it settles over shoulders comfortably. That it doesnât pinch too tightly at the waist. As sheâs adjusting her hair, she lifts a hand to trace the eyepatch that ever carefully crosses her face. She canât wear that either, she supposes. With a heavy weight settled atop her shoulders, she carefully removes it, choosing to hide that half of her face beneath her hair.
It will have to do.
Carefully folding her duster and associated over her arm, she eventually places it where she left her boots and her sword before she goes to track down Oriphi at her shared bedroom with Diluc.]
Are you ready yet? I want to take a look.
no subject
But also in much the same way, she can tuck those insecurities away for Eustace and Tifa's sake. How she feels about wearing a dress that's too fancy and nice for her doesn't hold a candle to their love for one another.
Ori is careful, upon putting this dress on, to make sure that her more uncommon features don't interfere with it. She finds a small slit for her tail to go through, and manages to get through that without issue. However...
Beatrix's voice carries through from the other side of their bedroom door. ]
The door isn't locked, you can come in! I need a bit of help, actually...!
[ It's difficult for her to make sense of the ribbons that fasten the dress in the back. Whenever Beatrix comes in, she would find the tiefling with the dress essentially half-on, with her back bared and a rather sightly scar traversing diagonally from a shoulder blade to her waist, flanked by other similar marks. ]
no subject
Carefully showing herself in, she closes the door after herself.]
I can do that.
[Tipping her head to the side, she gives Oriphi a look from the back. She can't tell well enough how it might look on her, but Ori seems pretty in anything, so the bridesmaid dress is likely no different. She may only have one eye, but Beatrix oft says that she is not blind. As such, she doesn't miss the skin touched by circumstance. Careful not to trace it or do anything else similar to, she focuses on the ribbons, starting at the bottom to fasten them.]
Tell me if it is too tight.
no subject
âŠIt really is such a lovely, pretty dress.
She draws in a deep breath and exhales, and finds herself able to do so with ease. As such, she shakes her head at Beatrixâs inquiry. ]
No, I think itâs just right, Beatrix. Thank you for the help!
[ She peers over her shoulder in earnest, then. ]
Wow! You look gorgeous, Beatrix. This dress suits you so wellâŠ
no subject
It was nothing.
[Itâs meant to be a reassurance, but Beatrix realises she appreciates it more than sheâs letting on. The moment something binds her to home, she finds stability and comfort. It gives her one less thing to be concerned about. When Oriphi gives her a look over the shoulder, Beatrix straightens her posture.]
Does it. I have never been much for dresses or gowns. Such things tend to be more fitting for Alexandrian nobility.
no subject
This part of it reminds me of a cloak or cape a bit, which I think suits you. It feels quite⊠commanding?
[ Sheâs never really had to describe the vibes of a dress before. She might not have the right vocabulary for this. ]
You deserve to feel beautiful too, you know.
no subject
Commanding. That is not the word I would have applied to a dress, though my perception is likely quite different from many.
[She canât really think of any in military, even those who came before her, who wore dresses or anything like that.
âYou deserve to feel beautiful too, you know.â
Beatrix raises an eyebrow. Just where is that coming from? Why is it even important? Itâs not, really. How she looks isnât really important in any spectrum of things.]
I do not think how I feel about my appearance matters much. I hardly have an interest in appearing beautiful or ugly or anything in between. How I look does not affect what I do or how I carry myself. Although, naturally, I do not share that opinion when I am looking at you, or Tifa, or the others.
no subject
Her brows have knit together, but soon enough she shakes her head, as if to dispel those rather morose thoughts. ]
So you are beautiful without even thinking about it! Thatâs the best kind, I think. EheâŠ
[ Itâs then that she notices. ]
Ah, did you⊠Are you not wearing your eyepatch, Beatrix?
no subject
When Oriphi makes mention of her eyepatch, pointedly, Beatrix shifts the way she stands. If she were in public, she wouldnât even respond. There are few subjects that she has found taboo to discuss.]
It did not seem appropriate to wear with this outfit. I suppose if it is necessary, I will have something fashioned to match.
[Although she also does not mind simply wearing her hair in such a way to substitute the need for one. Beatrix can imagine, however, that without her eyepatch, she must look remarkably more approachable.]
