( I. hot pot - serenading the piggies )

[Ever in search for new ingredients and recipes to make - carrying on Shionne's legacy while she's gone, at least - Kisara had jumped on the truffle challenge. She's not shy of any danger, and experience at the ranch back home has her well prepared for a bit of pig wrangling! ...So she thought. Unfortunately partway in her partner in swine decides he's happier napping in the muck, so now she's on the edge of the path trying to coax him back.]

Come on, don't you want to find those tasty truffles?

[...Her pleas are left unacknowledged, unfortunately, so after a painful silence she sighs and starts humming some old kid's song from her childhood. Maybe it'll wake him up to play the way it did for her years ago.]


( II. dragon-sitting )

[Taking care of little kids? Sign Kisara the heck up. Even if said kids are actually baby dragons, that's fine. It adds a second layer of challenge to the task. She's at the dragon nursery, coaxing bite-sized morsels into the mouth of an especially precocious little dragonling. She's even trying to experiment with a bit of wind-based dreamotion to try and make it fly into the baby's mouth, which is… admittedly messy, but both she and the baby seem to be enjoying it.]

What's this? It's a zeugle, flying away! Best catch it before it escapes…


( wildcard: wishing well )

[Kisara is hanging out at the wishing well one unremarkable day when the skies are clear, leaning against the edge, rolling one of the baubles idly back and forth between her hands. She looks deep in thought, indecisive, a little sad. Maybe check in on her?

Alternatively, should you cross her path afterwards, one can find Kisara walking home from the wishing well area, carrying a small black cat in her arms and, by all appearances, trying hard not to cry.]

[sermom]

[Indeed it agrees; the pig makes a grunting sound and starts squishing its way out of the mud, albeit slowly, still reluctant. Kisara's brows lift.]

I didn't actually expect it to work... I guess they do like music. Ah- sorry, sorry. I'll keep going.

[She starts to hum again when the pig makes a noisy objection and stops moving, continuing the song to make it continue forward and get it back onto the path.]

[lestray]

There ya go! [She says to the pig encouragingly as it stirs. Then she turns her attention back to Kisara.]

I didn't take ya for the singin' type. But now it sounds like yer stuck wiv it. [She shrugs and gives a teasing smirk, while doing what she can to help guide the pig out of the mud.]

[sermom]

[Kisara smiles shyly but keeps humming, at least until the pig is back on track and snuffling around instead of heading back to the mud. Then she relaxes again.]

I don't know if I'd consider myself the type either. But if it has to be done, I guess I'll manage.

[lestray]

Well ya did fine at it. [She admits the compliment while they move along, now with some bits of mud on her that she ignores.]

Wot kinda song was that anyhow? [Now she's curious.]

[sermom]

It was... an old lullaby. I heard it a fair bit growing up, so I used to sing it for the kids sometimes back home. I didn't know it could work on pigs, too.

[The more you know!]

[lestray]

A good lullaby must do the trick for all kinds o' livin' things. [She smiles lightly.] ...I... barely remember any lullabies meself, so it's good that you're on top o' that. Now we just gotta 'ope that this little guy sniffs out wot 'e's supposed to.

[sermom]

It isn't the end of the world if he doesn't find any, but I would love to try these truffles.

[She gives the pig a gentle pat on the side, who grunts and shuffles forward, hooves scraping at bits of grass.]

[lestray]

Right? [She nods along in agreement.] Everyone's been talkin' 'em up like they're the best thing wot they've ever tasted. I gotta 'ave some for meself! It'll be worth all this 'untin' around for sure!

[Gina smiles down at the pig.]

Alright ya cute oinker, keep us on the right track! I ain't gonna rush ya, but you'll get a piece o' wotever we find!

[sermom]

[Kisara smiles and walks alongside the pig as they continue forward, occasionally humming a few notes if it seems like it might be distracted by the mud siding the road.]

Do you cook for yourself? Mushrooms are a very versatile ingredient, but I've heard these can be a little more tricky to work with.

[lestray]

Not really. [A soft shake of her head.] I live wiv others who 'andle most o' the cookin'. [It's nice to practically live at the Wild Harvest.]

I've been tryin' some of it for meself 'ere an' there. But... it's a work in progress to be sure. [She admits that a bit meekly, tugging at her hat.] I'll 'elp out wiv these 'owever I can.

[sermom]

It can take a while to really get it right. Don't worry though, I'm sure you'll do fine.

[She has no basis for this confidence, but cooking isn't some great science or magic- it's all about taste.]

If you ever need any pointers, I'd be happy to help. It's the least I can do, considering you keep helping me out too.

[lestray]

I feel like you've been 'elpin' me more than the other way around... [She admits sheepishly while tugging at her hat. Still, she goes on lightly.]

Still. Thanks, I'd appreciate that. Between you an' Sooze, maybe I got a shot at makin' some tasty stuff!

[sermom]

We're helping each other. No sense in sweating the details!

[She's certainly not keeping score- just aware that certain shenanigans of this place have been made easier through Gina's company.]

Hopefully we can both go home with a bundle of truffles, so you'll have a project to work on. You'll have to let me know what you make.

[lestray]

I s'pose you're right about that!

[She responds with be a small smile. She mostly remembers that it was Kisara who got her down when she was trussed up as a scarecrow. But it really has been kind of a back and forth.]

Let's see if our little friend 'ere finds us a good load of 'em. [She gives the pig a supportive look!] If we get enough, I'll make sure to let ya know wot I've got in the works! ...An' if I need any more 'elp!

[sermom]

Of course. [She tries to nudge it back on course, gently but firmly, hoping not to have to sing again. It feels a bit silly.] I wonder why it's so fond of music, though. I've never sung to a pig before, not even back at the ranch.

[lestray]

[She gently pats the pig to try to encourage it some more! Come on, lead us somewhere good! Gina keeps her eyes peeled for any sign of the fablef truffles.]

Beats me. Maybe it's got to do wiv some kinda story or dream, like a lot of the things that 'appen in these parts. Or maybe he's just different from other oinkers. Got 'imself some refined tastes an' all!

[She chuckles.]

I wonder if more singin' will get 'im goin' even more.

[sermom]

It could be. You're welcome to give it a try, yourself!

[Don't make her sing again, it's someone else's turn this time. Go for it, Gina...]

[lestray]

[She was hoping she'd volunteer again... but Gina supposes she should pull her weight more in this team-up.]

Y-yeah... I s'pose I'll give it a go. [She clears her throat, a little embarrassed, but she gives it a try. She starts to hum some half-remembered melody. A bit shakily and unpracticed, but it's enough to keep the pig on task. In fact, it starts to sniff at the air and move faster, as if it has a destination set!]

[sermom]

[Kisara listens, staying politely quiet as she hums, though her pace picks up as the pig's does, keeping astride it. After a little bit, the pig stops and grunts, scraping at the ground with a hoof and nosing at the loose earth.]

I think you might have led us to the first treasure! Well done.

[lestray]

Well! Would ya look at that! [Her embarrassment paid off! She grins widely as she kneels down beside the pig.]

Ya just wanted to make me flex me voice, eh ya little piggie? Alright then, let's wot ya got!

[She watches with excitement as the pig starts digging up some truffles! She'll even use her own hands to try digging at some of the earth.]

[sermom]

[Kisara crouches down, joining Gina in the dirt and digging through where the pig had indicated. Sure enough, a small gathering of the fungi, ripe for the picking. She doesn't even mind when the pig shuffles off to sit in the mud again; it found treasure for them, so it deserves a little treat.]

This seems like a good collection. We could make a few stews from this, I bet.

[lestray]

[Her face brightens up even more as the truffles become visible! She grins while plucking up some of them.]

Yeah? Even more than one or two? [She sounds excited! One stew alone already sounds like a big deal to her.] That'd be great!! I can't wait to put 'em to use! Our little friend sure steered us right, 'e did!
